So I put on a new coil on the shee, and since I didn't take it off I was wondering which wire wento which side of the pins on the coil. It looks like the orange wire goes to the side towards the back of the bike and the black to the front. Is that correct? Also which plug wire goes to which cylinder? Thanks!

Yea new plugs, just because it only does it when I put a load on the engine. If I'm in neutral and hit the throttle it runs fine no problems at all but when I put it in gear and try to take off I have the problem. I've had this issue for well over 8 mnths now and I've had those carbs apart 100 times cleaning em, making sure EVERYTHING is the same and still have the same problem. I also thought maybe a bad reed, swapped reeds and still same problem.

So I checked my stator it's a lectrics (dont know how to spell it) 200 watt. The pickup coil resistance was 116 which is in specs however re charging coil resistance was 10.7 and the min for that is 13.7. Also my primary on the ignition coil was .5 with the max being .38 so I kno I have to get a new coil, also my secondary was OL so I'm guessing I need new wires too. Thing is I replaced the coil and wires bout a year b a half ago, around same time i got the stator. Could the low resistance be causing the coil to short? Sorry for the long post but thanks for the help!!

what old cpis? do i know you? lol i had cpis on my first banshee but i traded that for a 450r, obviously i couldnt go without a banshee for long haha

hey all, i was just wondering how you would tell if you have a bad stator? i know all my other electrical parts are good because i have swapped them with known good ones. my bike cuts out on the left side when i try to get on it. i know the jetting is good because it ran fine before. i have a high output stator not sure which brand though, i know the ricky stators are known for going bad right away. is there a way to check your stator without taking it out and checking the ohms?

I saw in my clymers that the float height is supposed to be a certain height and I was wondering what u use to measure it, it doesnt look like you can get a ruler or sumtin in there. I'm asking because for the last year or so my left cylinder cuts out sometimes and I thought maybe a bad seal but I just rebuilt the entire engine so brand new seals and everything and the engine mechanically runs good but it still cuts out on the left side. I've changed jets, adjusted the screws and needles and still does it so I'm thinking it has to do with that float height cuz that's the only part I Havnt messed with. Thanks got any help!!

I'm definantly going to be clean and thorough, I already have some clean shop rags and I plan on buying some rubber gloves to ensure everything is clean. I also have some grease to make sure everything is lubed up before just starting it and plan on making me a leakdown tester tommorow

Hey everyone, I'm rebuilding my engine and I got my parts comin from hjr sumtime this week. I've rebuilt the engine a couple times but never cometely by myself. I have a climbers and I was just wondering if anybody had any pointers or refreshers for me before I get started?

i was thining of doing an atvccs race this year and i was wondering if anyone else had done one of these and what it was like. the closest one is like an 8 hour drive so if its not worth it then i dont wanna waste my time. also if anyone has done it do you know if they would allow my 4 mill? i didnt really understand what it was saying about the rules because it said that the cc's are unlimited but it said you can only be bored so much. i almost just wanna use my wifes yfz so i dont have to stop multiple times for fuel. any info is greatly appreciated!!

i have an 06 with the 5.4 and i love it!! it pulls my trailer (7000) lbs like there is nothing on it. the spark plug thing is an issue but being a mechanic i know the technique to get them out with out breaking them off. its a process but beats taking the head off or using one of those extractors thy came out with haha but i drove the 1500 and i liked it but i love my 06 the supercrew is great too plenty of room in the back. i will say try to get a long bed if you get an f150 tho the short bed just isnt big enough.

I'm just sayin man u cuda done it for free but as long as it's runnin that's all that matters!!

Don't mean to offend u but they're saying that because what they are talking about in syncing carbs not sinking. Haha but you shouldn't of taken it to a dealership man you could of searched on the forums and found out how to sync yor carbs yourself it's actually fairly simple.

Just an update, I took the head off and saw sand in there so I took apart the entire engine and the crankcase was almost caked in sand so apparently what happens was the air filter fell off and one of my friends started it not knowing that the filter had sand in it(I put it back on to get back to camp) and it sucked all that sand into the mOtor. Now I'm sending my cylinders to hjr and getting a 4 mil kit. Thanks for all the replies and help!!
