  1. Checked it all out, Found nothing. Plugs have a nice soot mark. No cracks or leaks of anykind. Again impressive power to say the least. All the years I had a 2 stroke dirt bike I never had that happen. 2 cyclinders probably makes it prime for the dieseling effect. 2 stroke Jet skis are 2 cyclinders as well. The gas powered 4 stroke carts at my job are 2 cyclinder and somtimes fire in reverse for a few seconds when there shut off. Yeah the old bonneville I had I purposely advanced the timing for more power, Only draw back was the dieseling at shutoff.
  2. What impresses me is how much power the dieseling effect had!!!! It was moving like I had half to 3/4 way open thorttle. And the brakes were not to effective. I thought the most dieseling could do is when I had a old 85 pontiac bonneville with a 4 barrel carb on it, Everytime I used to shut it off it would ping pang bong rattle for about 1 minute after I shut if off unless I shut if off with it in drive. But the way this thing did it reving like it wanted to own me boggles the hell out of me. And I am sure it was not a stuck slider, The kill switch tells it all. Now I'm going to be alot more jumpy when I turn comes around.
  3. Thats the correct term that I could not remember, Yeah dieseling. Operating on the same principle of a diesel engine. I thought the engine was done for when I seen the temps continue to rapidly rise while it was doing it. Sorry to here about your experience. Yeah this I was not expecting and my heart skipped a few beats. But I acted quick. Is this common on banshees when they get warm?
  4. So I am riding today and felt like doing donuts, Well I am having fun doing donuts and seen my temps were getting around 200 and said thats enough need to ride to cool it down, So I gunned it down the trail and comming up on a turn I let off the throttle except the engine did not stop, It continued to rev, I quick pulled the clutch and hit the kill switch but there was no kill, It continued to rev in a very wierd sounding way and I finally got it to stop by pulling the choke, Temps were reading 215 by this time. I let it cool off checked the throttle and it was not stuck at all, I fired it back up and it ran fine. What the hell happened? Was this a uncontrollable hot spot combustion taking place? Has this happened to anyone else before? Scared the hell out of me. Like I said it was reving in wierd kinda sounding way, I run 93 octane 32:1 supertechniplate, BR8ES plugs, Wiseco pro lites with stock head.
  5. Nice answer, Thanks for the in depth reply. Yeah I was talking about the PRELOAD. I kinda thought it had somthing to do with that but wanted to confirm. I will definetley keep you in mind about the revalve job, I am going to be soon upgrading the front shocks to somthing better and should do the rear aswell to get it all done right. Reason I run bigger tires for now is the fields here in florida tend to have quite tall brush and these tires keep it up off the ground better. Not only that, But my top speed is dratically faster with them on to.
  6. I know this is a dumb question, I know what the bottom adjustment on the rear shock does, What does the top adjustment do? Not the dial for softer or harder either I am talking about. And another thing, If running bigger size tires on your banshee would they put more strain on your shocks then the right size ones would? I know everyone does not like the stock front shocks but I have not heard much about how good the rear shock is. I know I generate tons of heat on the shocks when I ride. The rear looks like its built niceley.
  7. Yeah tony is a great seller, With great communication all the way!! I wish all ebayers were like this dude.
  8. When I was younger and less wise, I made the mistake of running 120 octane in a stock 350 without any rejetting work done. BIG MISTAKE!
  9. So there that incredibly bad huh? Well I am without doubt going to upgrade so I am crossing my fingers and hoping they will last for 6 more months, The wife will kill me if I spend anymore money on the bitch. Speaking of wife/girls I think I need to keep that one topic alive with females on banshees.
  10. I seen the ones for $42 but they are the complete inner and outer filter, My inner filter is in great shape and is the reason I only want the outer foam part. I was looking at the k&n's to. They don't make a filter that would fit the proflow adapter do they,
  11. HELP!!!!!!!!! Where can I buy a Pro flow replacement outer filter only??? I beeen looking everywhere and the only thing I kind find is the complete filter or the whole kit, I only need the outer foam filter. I seen the uni filters but I don't know if they will fit. The filter I have is this, http://www.mawonline.com/google/PPD200.HTM Its driving me nuts trying to find one. So hopfully someone can steer me in the right direction. Also are these filters any good? I only ask cause thats what was on my banshee when I bought it and the stupid thing just fell into pieces when I went to pull it off.
  12. Well as the title states what can I do to get the most out of stock shocks so they won't blow out? I know not jumping it off the ground is one but my stocker went out without warning for no reason. I do ride pretty fast even when semi rough but its not overkill, I notice they generate lots of heat when I ride but I don't think heat that is not burning heat will be bad for them? Any help really appreciated as well as a suggestion for mildly priced aftermarket shocks anyone recommends.
  13. I have blue plastics almost complete without the radiator cover though. Rear plastic fenders, Gas tank cover, And front plastic with the fenders choped. They are in fair condition meaning they do have some scratches here and there but they are still 100% good to go., I am looking for the following, a-arm protectors, extended swing arm ect, Really up for whatever you may have. Message me, I am interested in all parts.
  14. Once again thank you HQ members. This topic is closed as I got what I needed.
  15. I appreciate the reply, If it were income tax time I'd take them off your hands for sure. I trying to find some stockers under $100 though to get me through till then.
  16. I am looking for a pair of front shocks, I just blew one out today and I gotta say the stock ones seem like junk to blow out so easy. What shocks from other quads will hit the banshee? And if anyone has a set for a reasonable price please hit me up..
  17. I like running homelite weedwacker oil for air cooled engines running at a 75:1 ratio, Works great, Lots of sparks out the rear pipes, and no smoke. Operating temps running at a normal 240 degrees. On a serious note, I love Super techniplate 32:1, After 50 hours on new pistons they still look like they just came out of the box. And the smell is next to none. I heard the R50 smells the same but offers slightly less film strength. I can say one thing, The 350 is probably the most reliable 2 stroke atv engine ever built
  18. Yeah I was looking at them E3's. What country they made in? I buy anything as long as there not from china. The E3 is very similar to the halo. I made a mistake on my last post, When I said platnium I meant I am going to try the iridium plugs, I seem to be fouling out my right plug to often and I can tell my right pipe smokes more then the left, Time for a tuneup on the jets I guess.
  19. I figured snake oil, Speaking of yuppie idioit, How does putting a dyna sticker on I think is a stock CDI sound? Somthing did not look right about my CDI and the label since I could not find the exact model and sure enough I peel back the sticker and it says denso under it. I am going to give the platniums a try, Can't go wrong with a rare metal that was once radioactive "iridium-192". I truley wish they would have made them firestorm plugs. They looked the most impressive out of all the other BS.
  20. Sorry, In defense to myself so I don't look like an idioit again like my oil topic, Perhaps why the br8es plugs were used is it seems my igniton coil says DYNA on it and I did alittle looking around and seems its aftermarket and also people do use the br8es HQ actually has a topic which just answered my question. As for me not liking the seller I got my shee from thats another story.
  21. Thank you for the clarification. I have no idea why the yuppie idioit that sold me my banshee is running br8es in it and gave me 2 new ones also, I thought that was the normal plug and never bothered to actually check. I will go out and get the the correct plugs ASAP. I still got alot to learn about this quad yet I guess.
  22. Seems our banshees share the NGK BR8ES plug with mitsubishi's 91 galant and 02-04 Lancer. I came across a spark plug company with a new kind of plug design catch my eye recently. Don't know if anyone heard of them but there called HALO spark plugs. I am kinda interested to test them out in the banshee, Got a set for my car and have no complaints but have nothing to brag about either since I don't have any equipment to test any actual differences as they claim. The actual design that they point out does have some good points but then again could just be equivilant to snake oil, did alittle cross research and used the lancer as referance for the banshee and they sell this which is equal, http://www.lsgbrisk.com/products/product.aspx?id=68&recordId=4630, Damn interesting. Youtube and there site has a few videos of these plugs, Interesting claims if you read there site. I always like testing new stuff. Thought I share, NGK is a good plug but hell why not? Once I get 4 of them i'll post a follow up for the hell of it. Anyone here use them in any of there toys?
  23. My 2 cents to the OP, The banshee will never die and infact will probably increase in value in the future especially untouched limited editions as it is the most well know and unique ATV ever made and very well may be a collectors item so to speak in the future as they get more rare. Theres a huge market for used banshees still and its not uncommon to see on orlando craigslist for used banshees selling for more money than used raptors do. On top of that don't worry about anyone at the dealers not showing interest cause they know nothing about nothing, And only want to push the more expensive brand new stuff for there own brownie points. Also just because yamaha stoped selling banshees in the USA does not mean you can't own a brand spanking new one, They sell every single part on the internet for banshees and if your good with a wrench could build your own complete banshee part for part, Frame, Radiator, Engine, all plastics, Handlebar, Gas tank, All eletrical parts, Seat, Wheels tires hubs, You name it I have seen every single part used or new, stock or aftermarket, there is for banshees on the internet and could build myself one no problem. How much it would cost after all parts is somthing I have not added up. Hopfully some diehard banshee fanatic out there someday that has money will do the same thing to the banshee that has happened to the Delorean. The delorean "back to the future car" went out of business in 1983 but you can still buy a brand new delorean from a place in Texas that makes them using all NOS parts. However that will probably never happen.
  24. I live in saint cloud FL which is considered central orlando area, but only for 9 miserable long more months. No offense to you other FL guys everyone likes different things.
  25. I was running Engine ice till my radiator broke, Now I am running 50/50 Advanced auto parts green crap with 2 ounces water wetter, Seems to run about the same temps as the ice did. Has anyone ever put a radiator fan on there banshee? Probably not cause the stator limitations but just curious.
