  1. Basically What I state, I do not want to sound like a dealer in anyway cause I swear on the good book I am not, I have been running a very hard to find and non advertised oil in my banshee's trans now for about 25 hours and I have not one spec of glitter in it so far. NOT ONE! Its there #267 supreme which is 80-90w Synthetic blend. The 30w oil that was in there before. Which is very high grade oil "I WILL NOT SAY WHICH BRAND", Turned grey glitter after only a few rides. This stuff is still new looking, It does shift harsh before it is fully warm but its like butter once it warms up, I also use there engine oil which has made my one very high mileage car silent when running just about. Pours the color of extra virgin olive oil. Don't know if anyone ever goes on bobistheoilguy.com but this is where I learned about this oil aswell as a retired trucker neighbor. Schaeffer's oil is what it is called. Its a midwestern farmers and truckers secret. There is a youtube video also at thiis link on a 500k engine teardown, Try it out lets have your input, if you can find it. Go to www.schaefferoil.com there if your lucky can find a dealer. Yes there kinda like AMSOIL but there not pushy like AMS. AGAIN I AM NOT IN ANYWAY A DEALER, I want to make that clear. I just thought I share with my few years experienced since I used them, They have always impressed me. Anyway Thought I share. Hopfully it will save your transmissions more 2stroke oil, Klotz all the the way.
  2. Well, I have been getting pretty over comfortable with this beauty the past few days, Its addicting and I can't get off it. I have the 99, 97 onward they have a rev limiter so you can't over rev it and blow it up right? It just seems to scream so much higher than what I remember my cr125 used to sound. And with no instruments to read, Its slightly uncomfortable not to know, I think a site sells a aftermaret info cluster that bolts to the handle bar neck. I can't remeber who though.
  3. You probably won't have to rebuild a 4 stroke for yeras and years, All depends if the engine is subjected to oil starvation and overheating, 4 strokes run way hotter. My brother in law locked his 4x4 honda 350 up from overheating and another guy locked his raptor up both heat related, the raptor was more due to him doing stunts wheelies and crap starving the oil pickup alot, his bearing upon teardown looked horrible, ruined crank connecting rod warped. But none the less 4 stroke will eventually go and when they do just toss them. The parts are astronomical in price. Speaking of the air filter, I don't really care for the brittle oil foam filter I have and I think I am going to switch to one of them cone k&n type filters. This foam filter if you rub your finger across it pieces of it come apart. I do warm it up though. The seller told my it has aluminum pistons and to always warm it for 5 minutes.
  4. What oil is he running? I am using klotz techniplate now and going to use 5 gallons next fuel tank with amsoil dominator since I got a bottle for free. I don't beat my quad either, The air filter is a oil soaked foam type which I am told is the best for highest HP but alot of dirt can still get past it especially if not kept wet enough. Also, I got some kinda blue coolant in my radiator which likes to dripout alot all over my right pipe when I come to a stop after riding hard. It kinda sucks buying somthing used cause you never know how or what was used on it for sure, But used also gets you the best deal if you know your engines. The link above thanks, Sure hope I get more than 30 hours. Which I should no doubt. Juding by the input, It would seem the 350 is more reliable than my honda 125 I used to have yeras ago, That sucker was 45 hours new top end time.
  5. Just curious, Want to know so I can stock up early with parts when its time, Whats some of the early symptoms before a rebuild is required? What oil is giving you the longest hours of ride time? I am curious to know, Even know 2 strokes are without doubt the only way to go for dirt bikes and atv's sadly we all know they eventually need rebuilt. I am just happy to rebuild a 2 stroke anyday before I would touch a 4 stroke. And when a 4 stroke goes, LOL, You better just throw your atv away.
  6. I probably use the dominator so it does not go to waste, But I probably will stick to techniplate. That smell is like sweet perfume and it has yet to foul my plugs out and does not smoke abit when it warms up even though I added an entire quart to 5 gallons fuel by mistake. Anyway, As far as the gear oil, Scheaffers has yet again impressed me. I used the #267 moly 80-90w just to test it out and immediatley noticed that it sloshed around all the gears when idleing looking down the dipstick that did not do before. Shifts like butter except alittle sticky when cold and after 8 hours of hard riding no silver flakes. I also had no clutch slippage. Good stuff. Some old time retired trucker turned me on to this stuff. Maybe somthing you guys may want to try if you can find it. Its very hard to find probably have to go onto the webstie to find a local dealer.
  7. Yeah I am definetley checking into that shift mod dude. I been spending money on it already why not that. Also, Since we are talking about oil I use Klotz techniplate as stated above, SHEE owners have nothing but the best to say about it. My dad told his friend about my quad I just got which just so happens to be a AMSOIL dealer and he gave me a bottle of dominator free to try, Anyone care to input about the 2? Should I use it if theres any benefits other than the sweet smell? Do appreciate any input. Will post pics of it real soon on another thread aswell as specs which I been adding to. There is nothing in this world that sounds or looks like a banshee, Just very excited to finally own one after years of envyness. Sad there no longer sold in the US. EPA sucks mighty ass.
  8. Well this thing cannot, WILL NOT, Absolutley refuses to go into neutral while its running at idle, Now if I am lucky and when I say lucky odds 1/2000 while it is still moving I may just may every so often get it into neutral then. The oil I have and I swear by this brand and use it in everything I own except my shee 2stroke oil which I use klotz techniplate, Is schaeffers #267 Moly Universal Supreme 80-90w, If you all are running 80w I see it probably will not hurt it, The stuff in there now seems like 30w so maybe this will smooth things up abit. As for the grey color oil after only a few rides, Is this normal? I have no manual so how much does it require on a refill? Thanks J
  9. New owner here, Wants to know if 80-90w gear oil would be a bad idea? I only ask cause the thin oil thats in it now is turning greyish pretty fast and I also have a horrible time getting it in nuetural when its running, What gives? Yes this is my first banshee
