  1. how much are you looking to spend?
  2. NW Raptor Rally at Winchester Bay Oregon May 17-19th. Anyone who likes to race and lives near or in Oregon should check this out. Racing usually takes place on the backside of the 500 footer aka Superman Hill which is the biggest hil at winchester and is located on the southeast side of Winchester. There's also show and shine, group bonfire, BBQ and other events for those who wanna get more involved. Thought I'd pass it along.. Here are a few pics from last year.
  3. I prefer chrome over polish. polish doesn't hold up to one long weekend here in Oregon. Chrome pricing has come down a lot in the last couple years. I have had everything chromed from side cases to thumb throttle to a arms and they lasted over 5 years before starting to chip. Easier to maintain and your bike looks good all weekend not just for the first day. Only thing I would say is just dry it off after washing... JMO.. good luck!
  4. If you use adhesion promotor, flex additive and primer they should hold up just fine, unless you roll it. Looks good!
  5. heard a lot of good things about steller. They will build you anything you want I think.
  6. Thanks. I should post a pic of her on my 18mill DM.... its better then porn.. LMAO!!
  7. looks sweet!
  8. Im pretty sure once you sand them you will lose the shine and cant get it back, but I could be wrong. jmo..
  9. sounds like a pretty similiar build we did for my wife. Heres a pic of here bike, tropical teal frame with a tropical teal and white painted plastics. She had a race port 350 but wanted more so we put a 4mm in it, stock crank needed rebuilt and it was a cheap upgrade. Keep us posted on the pics!!
  10. I would get paint stipper and paste it on and let is sit then whipe it off and/or us a pressure washer and repeat as many times as you need. If you are planning on repainting them I would strip them all the way down to the bare plastic. Never wanna trust some else's prep or primer work, especially with the problems you are having. Then when you get them fully stripped you are gonna want to clean them with laquer thinner or bleach water and then fully scuff them for preperation on the next paint job. JMO.. good luck man!
  11. heres my play spare bike before I painted the plastics..
  12. HS Hoods are really nice. I like OEM the best. If you want something different and unique just get it custom painted! JMO
  13. There untamped CPI's with Cascade silencers with the turn down cap. You can see them at www.cascadeinnovations.net.
  14. bump for a proven motor. You couldn't build a DM motor for this. Has been a strong motor everytime I see it as the dunes and always one of the fastest bike there.
  15. If it makes you happy then thats all that matters. But in my opinion this set up won't be very fast even if you ever get it dialed in. I see your from the Portland area. If you ever are out at the dunes during any holiday, come to Coos Bay by Horsfal Camp ground near campsite 107 were everyone races during the big weekends. You will get to see some fast bikes there, several banshees in the 130-160hp range. There are a few R1 conversions that come to play but don't ever line up next the bigger banshees again after the first pass or two. But if a conversion bike is what you want and you got the parts laying around then thats all that matters, but I am guessing its gonna take more time and money to get it complete and ridablle then its worth. If it was me I would part them both out on CL and build a banshee motor. 4mil cubs are pretty cheap these days...JMO. Good Luck!
  16. thanks for the compliments!. Um, to me the shearers and the CPI's seem to have a very similiar powerband. Seems like the shearer is just a little more peaky. I just went with the Shearers on the red bike cause alot of people run the CPI's and not so much the sheares so I wanted to be different. But I had them show chromed since i didn't care for the nickle chrome that comes from matt.
  17. Here's a couple pics of my bikes. mostly race cut but one pic has a pic with a more dune cut with just a trimmed rear fender.. hope this helps.
  18. I wouldn't chrome a frame for a few reasons. One being that it would be pretty spendy, two being that it would chip pretty easily especially if the bike had any power from the frame flexing. Also the frame would begin to rust in the tight spaces much like stock a-arms that have been chromed. Just my .02 cents though..
  19. also take in consideration tire pressure and were you are sitting on the seat when you launch, that makes a big differance as well.
  20. nice plastics!! Glad you were able to sell them.
  21. somebody got a smokin deal!! anyone local?
  22. Bump for a top notch seller. Good luck with the sale Larry.
