  1. Sounds like a carb issue to me, also you need to invest in different pipes for your mods, The toomey t-6 pipes are for a stock un modded motor, for a modded motor you need the T-5's if you sticking with Toomey
  2. It is my understanding that over time your throttle cable can wear a hole through the boost bottle from the constant rubbing on it, I haven't had it happen to me but the bottle i took off my banshee had a groove in it dont know how long the bottle was on mine but I had a crossover tube laying around that I put on.
  3. I did this mod after I went trail riding in Saint Helen up here in Michigan, After a 16 mile loop of sandy dusty trails using the stock airbox with lid my K&N was packed full of dirt and sand. Now I don't have that problem. We have 3 banshees in our group with this mod and no issues yet.
  4. You can also get a 4 degree flywheel advance key, Vito's sells them for $19.95. Supposed to give you a extra 1-2hp. Just don't buy one of those boost bottles to replace your cross over tube they dont do anything for you.
  5. yeah I also have the K&N for the stock airbox and was going to upgrade to the pods but I keep hearing about the pods falling off so i decided to customize my stock airbox. I removed the lid and cut the sides and bottom off the box, and bolted the cage. so basically all I have left is the front and it uses the stock frame mounts to support it. Finished it off with a outerwear, Looks good and works great.
  6. I just bought a Vito's Hemi head and this is my 1st aftermarket head I have ever messed with. I was wondering if a o ring goes between the dome and head? I got a modquad oring kit with the head and they told me that i dont need all the orings in that kit that it is a universal oring kit. Without the knowledge and instructions i dont want to screw something up by not running the required orings. I can see the grooves where the o ring goes between the dome and cylinder and the head and cylinder which would be 2 orings per side but not sure about any other locations for o rings like between the dome and head. If anyone else has this head and can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.
  7. Could it be a air leak between carb and cylinder causing a lean condition? or maybe the float bowls are backwards?
  8. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=128425&view=&hl=float bowls&fromsearch=1 this link has some great pics of the float bowls
  9. Took the carbs apart and the float bowls were on the wrong sides, switched around fired it back up and had a slight backfire on the right cylinder. noticed a oil leak coming out of the the clutch cover side, after removing the clutch cover found the primary drive gear nut was off and made a nice mess of the clutch cover, alum shavings everywhere. well if it ain't one thing it's another, have to work on the backfire after I get it put back together
  10. My Brothers Banshee - Stock bore , T5's,boyseen reeds,2 into 1 air foam filter, TORS elim kit. 827 ft above sea. 280 mains, 27.5 pilot's, clip down 1 on needle. It has a slight bog mainly 0-1/8th throttle and it just don't feel like it's pulling hard through the gears. he put a new set of BR8's in and ran it for about 10 minutes pulled them out and the left side "choke side" is a nice brown color looks good but the right side still looks new no color, put another set of plugs in and same result. It has decent compression and he said he was pretty sure it was firing on both cylinders, starts 1st or 2nd kick and idles smooth? Just thought I would get some feedback before I tackle it in the morning. Ty for any help
  11. Not sure if you checked out this link but it helped me at least it'll give you a ball park idea of where you should be http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html

  13. I bought a 93 Banshee and I'm having a issue. I was told the heads were decked, it has a hot rods crank, bored 10 over, has V-force 3 reeds, Toomey T5 exhaust with 320 jets, and a K&N Air cleaner. When I first bought it and got it hame it was blowing coolant out of the overflow line pulled the head and replaced the gasket because it was blown on both cylinder's. Put it back together took it for a spin. started 1st kick, idle to approx 1/4 throttle runs great after that it runs on the right side only(sitting on seat) did a squish band test and got .38 on the left side and .40 on the right. What would cause it to run on 1 cylinder after 1/4 throttle? or where should I start to diagnois this problem. Thank you for any help you can give me this is my 1st Banshee and I hope to get this straightened out
