  5. So the only mi ones you know are on the sponsor list, I tryed calling 1 on the list yesterday from Mi but got the machine left a message and still waitung for a call back he built my last motor about 6 years ago in my other machine
  6. Anyone know of a good engine builder in Michigan, I just picked up another Banshee project and need some porting work and build advice for a 4mm 110 rod. I havent needed one in 6 years so not sure who is still around.
  7. I'm looking for a OEM Flywheel in good condition without any rattles for my Banshee, thought I would try here before buying one on ebay, Thanks for your help.
  8. I got 1 from a parts lot I bought, it measures approx. 29 1/2" long. I don't know much about it the package says Galfer and it looks used. It has 1 copper washer and banjo bolt.
  9. Guess I should of waited to buy that new stator never thought of the flywheel rattling, I have 2 flywheel's and they both rattle. I retested the 3 stators I have with my multimeter on the 200 setting and still nothing on the yellow to black wire so my meter must not go that low. Looks like I'll throw a couple of these stators on ebay and buy a flywheel. Thanks everyone for your input
  10. 2 of the 3 were from a parts lot I bought, the one on the banshee before the dismantle would miss at high rpm's, and got rusty while it sat. I used a multi meter on all 3 not that I know how to use the damn thing, and had these readings with the stators on the bench using connector terminals. Stator 1 yellow to black wire nothing, white/red stripe - white/green stripe 118, green - red 18, Stator 2 yellow to black - nothing, white/red - white/green - 118, green - red 16. Stator 3 yellow to black nothing, white/red - white/green 121, green - red 18. I don't know if I tested them right but the yellow to black didn't give a reading on all 3. when I rebuilt the top end last year my builder put the quad on his dyno and it showed the miss on it also which he told me that it might possibly be the stator. With my luck all 3 are good, lol
  11. I hope I have the same luck and don't have any issues, I have 3 oem stators and they are all bad, just getting the shee put back together after splitting the cases to fix a welded clutch ball and wanted no issues when it fires up
  12. Went with a Racetech Electric Stator since they are a Sponsor figured I would give them a try
  13. I have a 93 I'm currently putting back together and need to get a stator, Thinking about getting a racetech but will have to splice in a newer style connector. Is there any other stators besides oem that are worth screwing around with, Thanks for your input
  14. I figured the only way to do it was tearing it down, Sounds like a total rebuild while I'm at it, I'll have to call my engine guy and see what he suggest's. It was dynoed at 64hp, might try to get up to the mid 70 range.
  15. The curse finally got me after 2 yrs of running the piss out of my Banshee i finally welded that clutch ball and it bent the outer rod after the adjustment nut fell off. Now I cant remove the inner rod and ball any suggestions? is there away to remove it without a complete teardown? What really sucks is I had a pancake bearing sitting in my tool box just hadn't had the time to install i was going to wait until this winter and put itin with a fresh top end.
  16. Yeah from what I understand it will be 1 machine at a time and you get 2 attempts, everyone will be in different classes i dont know all the classes I know there is stock which is unmodified which will have different cc's dividing it up and a modified class if a stock machine has pipes and simple bolt ons it'll be in this class, and a exotic class which is unlimited. dont quote me one this its just what I heard, then the dirtbikes will have there seperate class and also the side by sides. but you can use the same machine for different riders each person just has to pay the reg. fee. so 1 machine can get 6 passes if you have 3 differen riders on it and they all paid the registration fee. I know there is trophys for all classes but not sure on exotic I think that is all cash. Like I said I'm just a person that knows its going on and I'm not in charge of any of it so I dont know all the info but the president of the dirt packers should know his name is Jim Lyttle and can be reached at this number which is the St Helen powersports 989-389-4961
  17. I,m not sure when they are going to put up the signs showing everyone where things are located but the mud pit and atv pulls will be across the street from the camp ground and the new sand track is in the campground behind the ball diamonds, if you take the road leading into the camground that heads to the compost area to the very back of the camground you'll see the new track, and I think there is a road just before the campground next to the grass landing strip for the airport that also goes back past the ball diamonds that will take you there
  18. The dark stuff is what they dug out under the sand they just brought in I was told the base is at least 2' of sand, It is 300ft and will be a single machine run that is timed this pic was taken after it rained, most of the trails in st helen are deep sand if that will help this is the 1st sand drag I have entered and is new to the ATV jamboree this year. The event will be held at the Richfield Township Park(campground)Located in Roscommon County, From I-75 exit at mile marker 222 - Go north on North St. Helen Road (Old M-76) five miles to the stop light at Airport Road and turn right (east). The campground is located on the left, 1/4 mile east on Airport Road next to the airport and park building. To stay at the campground it is $15 a night for electric and water or $10 a night for rustic they have a nice bathroom with showers for campers and there is a trail from rustic if you dont want to go down pavement( which is legal there ) that leads to the main trailhead kiddy corner from the campground that will take you to the 1200 Acre ORV park or the other trail loops if you want to do some trail riding up there
  19. This Coming weekend August 12th - 14th is the ST. Helen annual ATV jamboree, they have a ATV mud bog, ATV pulll, and new for this year is a ATV Sand drag, it's a 300ft drag which is timed. here is the link for the activities http://www.sainthelenchamber.net/ORV-Jamboree.html
  20. The ball is still in there, and I adjusted the clutch arm to the engine mark with the adjustment at the pressure plate. then i took up the slack at the clutch lever and had to run that adjuster all the way out, The clutch is working great there is just no room for wear with the adjuster. I just ordered a pancake bearing from Chariot performance so I will be tearing it down in a couple days to install it.
