Thanks for the reply, I'll try them out next time I make a run north and will keep my eye open on craigslist for some taller tires

I just installed a new clutch cable, a billet clutch basket, new clutch plates, and a driveline lockup. My clutch cable is too long by 1/4" - 1/2" the clutch arm is lined up with the case mark. I am using a aftermarket clutch perch not sure of the brand and the longer oem adjuster. The adjuster on the perch is adjusted all the way out and my clutch is working great but there is no room for anymore adjusting if this clutch starts to wear a little or the cable streches any. I matched the new cable up to the one I took off and they are both the same length and were both purchased at Vitos. Any suggestions

I was wondering with a 60-65hp banshee what size haulers to run , my brother has a set of 20x10x8 8 paddles laying around but they sounded kinda small and I didnt want to show up with those and get laughed at after I took off with them on. I'm also running a billet basket with a driveline lock up clutch with driveline clutch kit, it's alittle overkill for my current hp setup but shouldn't have a clutch issue for a long time. Thanks for the replies

Can you gain any clearance by adding a shim or spacer between the exhaust hanger and frame to bring your exhaust out a little.

Well look's like there might be a break in the weather for this weekend, the trails might be a little wet for the event but should be a good time.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've bought alot off parts from Vito's and have never had any issues, their shop is only 30 minutes from me so it's the closest place for me to go. The guys that work there are great and have helped me out big time. Anytime i need some Dyno time I just call Lane at Vito's and he always hooks me right up. But that's just my opinion, like any business there is going to be some people that like them and others that dont. I haven't purchased a crank from them yet so I cant give a opinion on that part, but my clutch, head, and topend are all from there and are holding up just fine. 61hp on the dyno thanks to them. Good Luck with your next build

Rebuilding sons' 99, Opinions wanted
Hooptiee replied to Toomey Banshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I would add porting to that list, depending on what he is using it for you cant go wrong with a dune or trail port, just my opinion. Nice looking shee by the way. -
My friends all tell me I should just upgrade to a 4 stroke because it would cost less and I would be able to stay on the trails longer without running out of gas. My answer to them is always the same, 4 stroke's just sound weird and I love my powerband, lol
-
The person I bought the quad off used castor 927, but I have always used Klotz Benol, because everyone likes the smell of it lol. Now that I boosted the HP a little I'll probably have to buy this stuff by the case

All the stores around me sell it for $52 a gallon, ouch. I found it at rockymountainatv for $39.99 + $7 flat rate shipping, anyone know of any cheaper places to find it.

I was wondering who makes the best goggle for dusty conditions, and what lense color helps in those conditions. I just trail ride but after you line up about 10 quads and start jamming the trails it gets almost impossible to see. Figured you guys would have some input. Thanks for you help

This is my airbox mod, I got rid of the sides and bottom and use the stock mounts and a K&N with a outer wear, I don't have to worry about a pod slipping off, LOL

I run Mobile 1 full synthetic 5w-30 in mine and never had a issue. This is what the person recommended that rebuilt my top end
-
Not sure how much of a difference it really makes but the Toomey T6 pipes are for a bone stock motor no upgrades, with upgrades your suppose to use their T5's. I'm sure there are other members on here that can tell you the difference in the pipes, just my 2 cents

Columbiaville, MI here. Mostly ride the Saint Helen trails.

Just thought I would spread the word, May 21st there is a ORV parade in Saint Helen with a pig roast and a bbq rib cook off. I have always had a blast on the trails up there. The Campground on Airport rd. is pretty cheap to stay at. $15 a night for electric and water or $10 a night for rustic. here is the link for the event if anyone is interested http://www.sthelenpowersports.com/eventslist.htm?groupId=1976&itemId=86991

My banshee was dyno'ed at 68 degrees and was a hair lean with a 350 main jet in it. Would a 370 jet be big enough for lets say 50 degree weather or should I go bigger? I have heard that you should rejet for every 15 degrees of temp change, so would that be up or down 1 jet size, just had this rebuilt and dont want to kill it so I let it sit all winter and now that it is starting to get warmer got that bug again, cant wait to unleash the new power.

Did you rejet your carbs for the colder temps? I live 45 minutes west of you in Columbiaville just outside of lapeer, I am running stock carbs with 350 main jets, 30 on the pilots and aftermarket needle's with clip, 1 groove off the bottom. It was a hair lean at 68 degrees on the dyno, If I was to run mine in this 25 degree weather I would probably be running close to 400 mains, just a idea you might just be way too lean on your jetting which would cause a hard start.

Mods to do to my new Banshee?
Hooptiee replied to BansheeMike350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
This is a mod I did to my airbox I run a stock size K&N air filter with a wrap I only use the front section of my airbox cut the sides and the bottom off it uses the stock hangers that attach to the frame and I have never had it fall off unlike the individual K&N pods. A K&N will prob get you a couple hp -
Mods to do to my new Banshee?
Hooptiee replied to BansheeMike350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I am by no means a expert but pipes and the rejet should get you a easy 7-9 hp , vforce reeds quicker throttle response and aprox 2-3hp and a adjustable timing plate 2hp. You can get a decent set of used pipes for $150 - $300 , VForce3 reeds for $175 - $220, Adj. timing plate $30 -$45, and a jet kit for $40 - $50. A set of pipes is a good starting point. -
Mods to do to my new Banshee?
Hooptiee replied to BansheeMike350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Congrats on becoming a Banshee owner. Mods are very tricky, I put my money on pipes T5's, Vforce 3 reeds, hemi head, bored .20 with a trail port, adj. timing plate, Mine dynoed at 60 - 61hp it really woke up my machine, great for playing around with but I do alot of trail riding and should of put my money into the suspension. When the trail gets rough my friends riding their newer 4 pokes ( 2 - TRX700XX's and a Raptor 700) pull away from me until I hit a smoother straight away watch out here I come. If you end up rebuilding your top end make sure you get it ported thats where the powers at. I payed $150 to get my cylinders ported and it was worth every penny. If i remember right the Stock YZF450 is approx 38hp at the wheels and a stock banshee is around 36hp been awhile i could be wrong. It doesnt take to many bolt ons to out power him and there is a million used performance parts out there if your on a budget. Just don't waste your money on a boost bottle for your intakes they do nothing for ya stick with your stock cross over tube. Just remember bolt on's become very addictive and you cant stop with just one. Good luck and welcome to the Banshee world. -
Took my shee to the dyno last night to have it tested after my new top end, drove 40 minutes to get there got it hooked up and found out my rear carrier bearings where bad started to wobble pretty bad, so a wasted trip, Luckily I had a backup at home with brand new bearings. Went back today and finally got to make some runs only to find out my stator is possibly going bad it has a little sputter at high rpm's and it loses power for a breif second but doesnt do it everytime. Well it is putting out 60 - 61 hp. Not to bad for riding trails. What would be a decent reliable stator to buy for this? The only place that I know of that makes them other than OEM is Ricky Stator but from what I have read on here it is a crap shoot with those whether you get a good one or not. Any advice would be appreciated

I have 21cc domes with a trail port, T5's, Vforce 3 reeds, +5 timing , K&N 2 into 1 no airbox, bored .20 over, 900ft elevation. I run 92 octane my compression is at 150 and had it Dyno tuned today and it has 60 - 61hp.
-
The specs are after porting the airscrew is 1.5 . with my old cylinders which also had a little porting done only to the exhaust by RDZ no porting on the intake side for some reason, I had a stock head. My jetting was perfect at 300 main, 27.5,middle clip, 1.5 turns. it had 120 psi compression. So the new top end has more porting and a aftermarket head with 21cc domes, and 150 psi. after a 1/2 hour of riding I pulled the plugs they are a light black color not a mocca. but also not a wet black. if I'm at 1/4 throttle and punch it it runs great, but doing a holeshot it has that bog.
-
I just put a new topend in my shee, I had some porting work done and was told I should be around 60 hp, won't be able to get on a dyno until after labor day weekend. My issue is after I am warmed up and am at a idle and just floor it it bogs then takes off, would that indicate being rich on the pilot? I have no room to run for a plug chop can only get into 3rd just barely 4th in my yard. My setup .20 over Ported Hemi head - 21cc domes Toomey T-5 pipes V-force 3 reeds K&N no airbox +4 degree timing Compression 150psi Carbs stock 340 mains Aftermarket needles- clip middle pos. 27.5 pilots Elevation aprox. 850ft
