Tethers are fine until you are halfway up a mountain and you accidentally pull the damn thing out and kill your quad. Happened to me recently and sucked balls Luckily I wasnt in a real technical part of the hill. I would like to actually put a key on mine lol.

Yeah I am pretty sure it already has the tors removed. I ordered a jet kit and will probably be tackling the jetting this weekend. Along with cleaning and installing the pipes and K&N. I cant wait to rip again...

Yeah I just picked up some used FmF Gnarly's and the guy threw in Boyesen dual stage reeds. I also picked up some jets and he gave me a 270 and a 280. So I am ordering a full jet kit. I also got a used K&N so basically waiting on jet kit in order to install all mods.

I have heard that you bring engine up to operating temp. and turn it off drain fluid. Refill with new fluid repeat first two steps and refill again with new fluid and start ripping

Yeah I ride the shit out of it for sure. What pipes will be my best bet to look for? I am leaning toward FMF I have heard that PC's foul plugs on dirtbikes alot more. Now that is just hearsay. So let me know I have ridden a ton just never had the money to buy stuff for anything that I have to ride. Definitely going with Boyesen reeds and K&N with outerwears. The lid is already off and was when I bought it. So I will probably get the Outerwears lid . I have heard that if I am getting FMF I should look for FMF jets I feel they probably dont matter but maybe they do. Thanks for all the help so far.

I should have said that money is no object...... not. I really dont want to be the guy with 15,000 in my quad . but I know it takes money. lol. I plan on putting less than a grand into it now and maybe more later. I dont need a demon just a nice fast ass shee. I know suspension will be a later mod too. I want to maintain ridability too as my wife rides it and I take my son out on it too. I will post more info and pics when I have more time. Thanks

yes they are. On a sidenote I have been told by many people and many other sites that type F ATF will work best for the banshee and it is cheap so you can change it evry third ride which is also good for parts.

am also athletic fat I am 5'10" 270 and I snowboard and ride all the time. It sucks being big but is nice when your "smaller" friends roll their utility quads on top of themselves and you can lift it off of them. And we stay warmer in winter. lol

I just got a 98 banshee in stock form I went riding last weekend and had an absolute blast. I have had quads and dirtbikes just never a banshee. I have also rarely had to or wanted to upgrade anything. I did rebuild my old rm125. So I can do the work. I basically ride in the woods with the occasional drag across a field and I havent hit a track yet but want to. I need to get exhaust, air filter since mine is split, reeds, and obviously need to do some jetting. My question is what would be the best suitable upgrades for what I want riding wise. I was told FMF "woods" pipes but I can only come up with FMF Gnarly's. I was also told Boyesen was good for reeds or vf3's. I also was told to go down a tooth in the front sprocket. I am new to banshees but not a total newb. Any help is greatly appreciated. I live in ohio and dont plan on seeing sand if that helps.

My 98 shee is doing the same thing. I have stock carbs on it. I also just got the quad recently s I am kinda new to banshees but not quads or two strokes.
