  2. I know they say type F works and I tried it out on mine and put it in and went on a ride down in southern ohio. Changed the fluid out and went to take off and the quad wouldnt move, drained all of it out and put gear oil in it "thick" and it made it through half of the ride clutch was slipping horribly on the ride back to the trailer. I think it has something to do with the thinner atf more or less washing the old worn clutch and causing the slip.
  3. Yeah I would change it every third or fourth ride just as peace of mind.
  4. I am still very interested in the shift pro I need to get it for the badlands trip.
  5. Just use the bolts with washers and some sort of spacer I had to do that with my FMF Gnarly's used stock bolts with two washers and a urethane spacer.

  9. jet changes are fairly easy or at least to me they are... Easier than an adjustable timing plate and easier than new pistons for sure.
  10. I am planning on making it out and should have a ton of buddies with me probably only one other shee but might have more. Definitely have 450s and a nice ass fast kfx450r. I will have my shee and raptor350 I cant wait it will be my first trip to badlands I have close to 20 buddies that "say" they are in. I really cant wait. Lol

  13. Definitely sounds lean to me. I would jump a size or two up on the mains since it is at WOT. My shee was doing the same thing when I got it and it had 215's in it but I had K&N no lid and was a little warmer and a little higher.
  14. I have heard that you can put solvent like oven cleaner in the pipe and then put a handful of nuts in there and shake the pipe up and let it soak and shake it up periodically. Makes sense just make sure you count what goes in and comes out. I plan on trying it real soon and will report back how it goes
  15. I think that I am jus going to polish them up until I can decide on a color to high heat powdercoat them. Blue is actually my favorite color and the quad is already black and blue. I just dont know how good black and blue can look. I want something that will be noticed not just another so-so quad. Also how do you guys force yourselves to tear down your quads? I cant seem to make myself do it even though it is still snowing I still ride and want to be able to ride whenever. I will figure something out just need some ideas.
  16. Shit I cant keep my wife off the banshee. When I bought the raptor I told her it was for her to ride and she said "Who says the banshee's not mine." She was joking but I am glad she likes to ride and is not scared of the shee. Are those painted plastics or actual pink ones? Looks good man.
  17. Are you wa out of adjustment? When I first got my shee the previous owner had stripped the adjuster out and it had no tension so I bought a new one and it fixed the problem. When changing the clutches out I didnt torque the nut down on the adjuster and it backed out and caused no tension again. Tore it down and found the nut hiding out and torqued it down and has been great since. Take the inner hub out pull out the adjuster and see if the ball will come out of the hole in the middle. Be careful because it can easily slip out and roll away.

  21. I have FMF Gnarlys on my shee and the pipes are in good shape with no dents. They are however a little rusty and where it comes out of the heads it appears to be down to bare metal. I polished em up last time I went on a big trip and they looked good. They didnt really polish where it goes in the head. I can try to polish it up some more but I think it is going to need re-chromed. I really dont need this thing to be show quality but would like a sharp ass quad. It is trail ridden and ridden hard I clean it regularly but am leaning toward high heat paint or powder for maintenance and appearance. The shee is black and blue with some tribal and skulls on it frame is stock grey for now. What are your opinions. Also what are prep steps for powder or high heat paint? Same as regular paint?
  22. I have seen intake temp tests on painted intercoolers versus bare ones and the bare is cooler by far. Dont remember actual numbers but it was considerable. I am actually going to strip mine down amd polish it up.
