The good cylinder s compresion was like 60 but my guage must be bad because it wouldn't even had run if it was that low .Update I just took of the other jug and that bottom ring was also turned around almost to the exaust port. But when I looked close at the ring gap you could see how thin the ring was worn, almost down to the dished part that goes over the pin.I sure my problem was the top end just wore out and gave the rings enough room to rotate past the locator pin.Thought I should get more than 2 years out of a top end ,also I clean the air fillter every ride it is a k&n and run golden spectro oil 40:1 same as my other banshee also premium gas

Yes it was .I gave the pistons to the machine shop before they bored it and I have had them do about a dozen other cylinders for me 4 and 2 stroke over the years and never had this happen or had a problem with their work.I have over 2 years on this motor since the rebuild(my son rides this one ) he said my motor lasts longer because I ride like an old man ha ha . My banshee has 6 years since last top end is still strong .
  5. Has any body else had a piston ring rotate and catch the exaust port? This just happened on my banshee.I did a full rebuild 2 years ago always ran great, but I was out the other weekend and I had to start choking it to get it to start even when warm. It would run great after it started.Then I was sitting for a moment with it idling bliped the gas twice and it shut down,well I just tore it down and the left pisto ring rotated and caugt in the exaust port.The locating pin is still there. It has wiseco pistons in it and a wiseco crank basicly a stock rebuild with pipes asnd k&n .I did a leak down test before I tore the top end off and it passed with flying colors 6psi for 6 min.just wanted to make shure I had no air leaks ,thinking that is why I had to start choking it to start .It probably was from low compression.

  8. I would say no see if you can find him a Honda fl350 Odyssey they have all hand controls 3 point harness ect would be great for some one in a wheel chair.

  10. thanks for the help I haven't tried to start the motor yet.I did sync the carbs by eye to start out then I will use the flow meter after I get it running.the motor was blown when I got it the big end of the rod was blown apart the pods were filthy with mud and the through ts of the carbs had mud in them probably why it blew.
  11. where I ride is about 1000 feet abouve sea level I live at 436 feet
  12. I just rebuilt my sons motor. New crank and top end we bought this quad with a blown motor so I never heard it run. It had k&n pods on it I replaced them with a air box with pro flow adapter and a k&n filter and stock lid with vents no snorkel.the motor is 30 over, stock head, boysen reeds ,stock cage with pro circuit pipes the main in the carbs now is a plastic 330 seems big to me. needle lowest groove, 2.5 pilot I am at near sea level any suggestions I have not even started the motor yet.

  14. Thanks problem solved that is what the guy did then to put his blaster rims and tires on the banshee. Looks like I will need banshee hubs in the future so I can swap rims and tires between the two bikes.

  16. I wonder if blaster rear hubs fit on a banshee axle maybe that is what the guy before me did.
  17. just wondering when they changed rear bolt patterns on banshees. I went to put my sons back rims on mine but the bolt pattern was different.mine is a 96 and his is a 99 his are a smaller pattern
  18. I put a high pressure oil pump in and blew my oil filter right off!
  19. I need white front fenders and have maier race cut front that I will trade.you can see them in the images section under my sons banshee they are in like new condition (I only want to trade front fenders)
  20. I also do lots of trail riding and I run holeshot hd's they have deeper lugs and are 6 ply I think.

    I have god housings I just need the rest of the lights. Maybe someone has a light or 2 that has a bad housing they want to sell.lets see what you got.

Did you putt new o rings on the pipes if that does not work try some high temp gasket maker putt a good bead around the jugs exhaust flange and slide them over it and give it a day to dry. make sure you clean the inside if the pipe and the outside of the jug flange real good with brake clean or carb cleaner first.

  25. Ban him! He screwed me to and he wont reply anyways. I got some piece of crap head lights from him.they are banshee housings with some wallmart fog lights in them held in by foam stuffed around them.The worst part is they were for my 14 year old sons banshee that we are rebuilding from ground up. He bought them with his own money he had been saving.So now he screwed over a little kid.
