Velislide replied to pabansheematt's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Whats up with the front? Looks all crooked in the pic, is everything straight? -

Take a close look at the A-Arms, from every angle. Top down is a good one to look at, if ones pushed back a little, they hit something at one point. Also loook for any bends in the frame rails, if anything is bent, thats a big chunk to knock off their asking price. Also take weight off the front wheels, and spin them by hand, and listen to the bearings, shouldnt hear anything, should be dead silent pretty much as the wheels spin. Hard to do the rear axle as the chain will make noise, but see if you can feel how well it spins, easy way to check the bearings. Take a look at the handlebars, if they are bent at all, it was rolled at one time, another chunk to knock off the price. And of course, check the compression. You dont wanna buy a quad and have to rebuild it after 4 hours of riding. Also, buy a Clymers Manual for Banshee's. I've never touched a banshee before, picked one up in a million pieces, and putting it back together myself! With almost all new parts or used in great condition, its a lot of fun, and easy to work on, especially with he Clymers Manual, they are VERY easy to understand.

Money sent, thanks!

So 120$ for everything? What size jets are in the kit btw? I really need a pair of 27.5 pilots. Whats your paypal address? My shipping address is: Matt Sullivan 1019 7th Street International Falls, MN 56649

I'll buy all this off you. On/Off Headlight switch Front brake setup Jet kit Cross over tube If you want, to make it easier to ship, you can toss the hard brake lines in the garbage lol, I'll still pay the full 50$. I already have those, and I imagine they would suck to ship. Any chance of getting you to throw in the red brake lever for another 10$? So 100$ total? And what kind of shape are the calipers in? DIBS!

Received my skidplate yesterday int he mail, and WOW is this thing heavy duty, Extremely thick aluminum, perfect TIG welds, and polished. The fit could have been better, but nothing a hammer didnt fix. I dont see this thing ever bending or getting smashed, it looks industructable. Highly recommended for a low price skid plate that looks amazing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230362099260&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

I went with AlloyBoltz on Ebay, and wow are they nice. At first I thought something was wrong because the nuts were siezing to the bolts, but you need to use NEVERSIEZE, otherwise it will always happen. I tried WD40 right off the start, didnt help. Neversieze made them go on so easy. Also the quality is amazing, they look like they are chrome, they are polished so nice. They all fit, and the bags are all labeled perfectly. I bought my banshee completely disassembled, and I'm having no problem putting it back together with these labeled bags, dont even need to look at my clymers manual so far.

I cant really see pods w/ outerwears getting any less dusty, being even more exposed without that airbox blocking things being thrown. I imagine cleaning will be as easy as taking an air hose and spraying dust off the top, shouldnt be too bad. And why would it change the jetting? Maybe your friend didnt really know what he was doing? I cant see it being any different to jet then other filters. I dont have bamuch for experience jetting 2strokes, but I'm sure ill learn fast. So back to the topic, 27.5 pilot, 350 main jet to start with? I think I have the 350 main jet already in a bag, what size pilots are stock in these?

Next time heat them up with something, torch or heatgun, and they will stretch over the carb better.

Yea I just gotta find a better way to get the outerwear on it, I dont trust that junky stick on velcro. Probably going to just use tiny little screws to hold the prefilter onto it. As far as the lid sealing, it has a slot in it that the airbox goes into, so its a super snug fit. Cars use flat filters like this, so I dont see any reason why this wont work as good as pod filters. This would be safer imo, and maybe even better flow? Also going to make a catch tube on the airbox drain, for water if it ever gets in there.
-
Just curious, but whats the different between running a filter inside the box with no lid, and running a flat filter on top of the box, acting as the lid? Both filter everything coming into the box, and I already have the powerlid, lol. This would work better then pods imo, less likely to get dirt and water spashed directly into the filter, like you would get with pods.

Pics of radiator? What kind of shape is it in? Interested, mine is pretty beat up. Also do you have the front engine mounts by any chance?
-
Hey all. Well heres the story, I'm building a banshee from the frame up with tons of random parts from ebay and such. Engines rebuilt with .050 over Wiseco prolites, ported cylinders, FMF Gold series exhaust w/ FMF silencers. For the air filter, I have the standard airbox with a K&N power lid. I plan on running no filter on the inside, and making sure the box is sealed up good. What jetting should I start with? I have stock jets in the stock carbs. Also should I advance the timing??? Thanks! Also, my elevation is 1150 feet! Thanks!

Looking to buy my first Banshee...
Velislide replied to davidson199's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Alot of the stuff I got were really random parts lol, alot of it was used stuff thats like new condition, saved quite a bit of money that way. Like I bought a new looking FMF system with silencers, for 220$, a polished cool head with domes that looked like new, for 105$, lots of deals like that. Usually the site sponsors sell totally kick hass, highest quality parts, way out of my price range! I'm looking for cheap stuff that will work, for my build lol. Some of the stuff I bought that was actually NEW, was like a wiseco topend kit, gasket kits, a stainless bolt kit for the whole quad. Usually its hard to beat prices on Ebay, like the Wiseco .050 over kit that included needle bearings, was under 200$ shipped, with forged prolite pistons and Cometic gaskets. -
Looking to buy my first Banshee...

I grabbed my first banshee not long ago also. I paid 500$ for it, was a rolling frame with Protaper bars, AC nerfs, powder coated suspension hardware (they did a bad PC job). The engine was out of it, top end was blown, but it came with a set of used ported cylinders. Also got a bin full of rusty parts with it haha. I think after I put 1500$ into it, it should be close to new. So for about 2000$ total, I'll have a mint banshee with tons of aftermarket parts and a new engine. -
Just as long as your balls are bigger then your engine, you'll be fine.
-
Nothing really wrong with the J-arms if you plan on keeping stock arms up front, and dont plan on hitting shit with them, lol.
-
Hey just wondering if anyone here has ever ran ceramic coated Toomey T5s. I've read after searching google a bit that it can totally change the tune of the pipe since it will flow exhaust gasses faster, change it to the point that the pipe is garbage? Anyone done this? Results?
-
Hey, I'll take them if you include the silencers.
-
Another question lol, is there any place I can get +2 or +3 A-Arms for my 87? Since it has J-Arms? I see alot of places say their A-Arms wont fit J-Arm style banshees, but is there companys that make A-Arms for these older quads? And would I need new shocks if I got A-Arms? Just ordered some Reeds, new boots, boost bottle, full stainless bolt kit for the banshee, and a couple more misc items. Whats the different between T5 and T6 Toomeys? And are FMF pipes any good for trail riding these beasts? If anyone has some pipes for 300$ or less with NO rust, give me a PM.
