Problems running Trailtech "Torch" lights
Velislide replied to Velislide's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I hooked them up to the Yellow and Green? I think are the two colors, I didnt use the black. I did the same on both sides. Now if I try to get even one working, it wont light up... I cut the plug off the original wiring harness, that the stock lights plugged into, and wired them directly into that, since the plug-n-play fittings that came with the lights didnt fit... they were male plugs, I needed female plugs on the lights lol. -
Problems running Trailtech "Torch" lights
Velislide replied to Velislide's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Do I need a better stator to run these lights? Thats what just came to mind... could I have fryed something in the stator when turning both lights on? The quad still runs good. And is it possible for an aftermarket stator to power 4 of these Torches? Had an idea that would be cool, for mounting 2 more. Whats the best aftermarket stator to buy, and most reliable? Any help would be great! -
I bought a set of torch lights recently, and wired them both up to my highbeams. I also had my Vapor connected to the highbeams so its backlight would turn on when I had my lights on. Well I had one light connected, tested it and worked great, same with the vapor. Connected the other light and wrapped up the wiring nice and good, tried it, and nothing worked, not even my vapors backlight. So I was all wtf, tested one light on lowbeam, it worked... hooked up both lights to the lowbeam, now the lights both dont work again.

Heres my banshee, minus plastics & seat, and other things. Frame is a dark purple w/ metallic flakes. Going to be getting new a-arms, swingarm, and axle. Probably going with a gun metal gray for swinger and arms.

Awhile back I bought a set of newer calipers off a 2001 or so banshee, and obviously they dont fit my older 87' spindles. If I bought some new spindles/hub assemblys from a newer banshee, would they go onto my J-Arms just fine? Then I could install te new brakes?

Wow, just wow. To the guy who made this thread, hurry up and finish that banshee so you can hit a tree and die, you fucktard. Seriously, your basically the definition of a pile of shit, talk about being materialistic. Not only do you sound like you have temper tantrums on the scale of a 14 year old girl, your also pretty retarded as far as building an engine and leaving it exposed like that. Maybe you should just have mommy and daddy buy you a new quad? Might be easier on you, I mean I wouldnt want your head to explode or anything when it comes time to jet it... meh yea actually I do. Usually I could care less about retards, but this guy just pisses me off. I mean I run into stupid people all the time, but holy shit this guy is like unbelievably dumb. Honestly if every retard like him just disappeared, the world would be a better place. I'm betting she probably just got sick of his dumbass and left on her own anyways, honestly what kind of girl would put up with someone like this? -
Fuel & Coolant routing pictures?
Velislide replied to Velislide's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Found this, gives me an idea! -
Anyone know where I could find some nice clear pictures of how people have the fuel lines routed by the carbs, and also pics of the coolant hoses, how they are routed, just in case lo. My clymers manual doesnt really say or have pics of this. Got the banshee running for the first time yesterday since the total rebuild. Started with a lower end, and put all aftermarket parts on it basically, started right up 3rd kick! Only ran it for a sec though, as I have no coolant running through the engine.

1988 shee, $1800 ...... do I want it?
Velislide replied to Powerplant's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You live in Minnesota you say? International Falls here, bought my first banshee during the fall lol, it was a mess, rolling frame, engine with the topened blown and a box full of rusty parts. I've spent a lot of time buying parts and putting it back together, spent about 1500$ on Ebay just ordering aftermarket oem replacements, and the like. Banshee cost me 500$, its an 87. When Im done putting it together, it will be race ported, vforce 3s, K&N intake, FMF Fatty exhaust w/ Powercore II's, all new controls with a Vapor computer, newer banshee suspension, new skid plates, etc. Have all the parts, engines together and mounted in the chassis now, just slowly finishing it. Where you live in Minnesota? And what would I have to do, to get you to help me do one of those front A-Arm conversions? My J-arms are a little bent, but I cant afford to do much with that, lol living paycheck to paycheck! -
Try 27.5 pilots, and buy a jet kit off ebay with all the different jet sizes, sounds like it needs to be rejetted correctly, and remove any shirts, pants, bras, or whatever else is inside your engine, robs quite a bit of power.

Everything like I said was replaced. OEM Bearing OEM Water pump Shaft & Impeller OEM Gear OEM pump cover OEM Oil seal The shaft going into the seal and bearing was a tight and snug fit, and the bearing turns fine, it turns over a little stiff like any new bearing. I just dont see how if you can slip the shaft in by hand, whats to keep the shaft from spinning inside the bearing.

I'm loving the fact that a 10 year old has better spelling and punctuation then about 90% of the people on these boards, lol.

Banshee 2x4x4 idea for winter & summer
Velislide replied to Velislide's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Or I could just go jump on my 01' Poo "800" which is dyno'd at 173 hp on 93 octane. Obviously I wouldnt be doing this as a sled replacement, geezus lol some people I guess. -
Its all brand new OEM from Yamaha. Everything water pump related was replaced.
-
Well, I bought all new OEM parts to totally rebuild the water pump, and I have a question. The water pump shaft slides through the oil seal, the bearing, washer, etc and pop the clip on. When turning the water pump by hand, it spins inside the bearing. Whats going to keep this shaft from falling apart, since its spinning metal on metal, inside the bearing inner sleeve? Shouldnt the bearing turn when you turn the water pump? lol, or does it just start spinning so fast and heat up, where it expands inside the bearing and then the bearing starts doing its job? Could this heat be causing the plastic gear to get soft and strip out from the metal pin? This is what happened to the last owner obviously... how long can I expect the OEM pump to last?

Gives me an error when I click the link?
-
Not sure yet! I was thinking of running clear coolant hoses with the brightest green coolant possible, haha. Anyone able to link me any? Still waiting to get my cylinders bored (been almost a month, uhg), so cant put it together till they're done!
-
lol, radiator looked like crap, spiced it up a bit! Goona run clear coolant lines with bright green coolant.

I sure hope hes not tryin to throw a roost on blacktop... lol. Only thing he will be throwin off the back is himself.
