  1. I'm kinda new ...but is a mill job like boring out your jugs? Sorry for the dumb question, it's how I learn haha
  2. I go to the dunes once or twice a year, then mostly trails or open fields...how much does it cost for a mill job?
  3. Ya I seen that diy post, I. Thinking save money..maybe do that, and buy the reeds. Now if I do it myself, is just the same as buying a timing plate?
  4. It has fmf fatty pipes, bored over .80, k&n filter, no lid on air box, weisco pistons...it's a fresh rebuild
  5. Ya I wanna eventually have both, but money is tight right now...so which one would you do first?
  6. I'm trying to get some info on what's more bang for the buck.....would you rather have timing plate from F.A.S.T. For 45 or boyesen reeds for 65$?.....thanks
  7. I found online a guy selling boyesen power reeds for both sides for $50.00. I thought it was a good deal. Now, can you use those reeds on a stock cage? And is there a big power difference? Thanks Adam.
  8. alright.. now, where do you go about buying one? Ive been looking at ebay, they have some for sale at 280.00 and its a wiseco crankshaft.. but the same crank at wiseco is 500.00 so is it real or a scam? the seller has a real good sale history.....and it comes with everything for a complete bottom rebuild
  9. yeah i was thinking it could be something i do at home... is there anything special i need to put a crankshaft in?
  10. I have a thrown rod bearing.. I took it to a local atv shop and the guy told me he would install a new crankshaft for 1500.. that includes parts and labor.... Is that a resonable price?... and is this something i can do on my own?
  11. well i took my head off, and jugs.. and my right piston is trashed!.... as soon as i pulled the jug off, the piston ring came off in pieces.. i just hope nothing got down in the crank area... I was wondering if there needs to be a rubber seal where my pipes go into the jugs.. cuz when i pulled my pipes off, there wasent.... there was oil/gas seaping from my right jug, down under the pipe...
  12. i went to o'reilys and rented a compression tester, and when i screwed it into my head, it wouldnt read at all. Let me know if im doing something wrong, here is what i did... Take of gas tank takeout spark plugs rent the compressing tester Screwed it in, pushed the trottle wide open, and kept of kicking starting it...... And thats it! Let me know if im doing something wrong.. Thanks.
  13. thanks for the info.. so the kickstart wont show it being low on compression?
  14. I just got my 97 banshee with T5 pipes, cool heads, 18cc domes, and K&N filter.. Well, i just didnt really feel the power. So i had my friend ride it, and the first thing he noticed was that the kickstart had very little pressure, meaning that i need a top end rebuild cuz im loosing compression. So i was wondering if, when i take off my heads, to get to my pistons, and if its not scuffed up, should i keep it a stock bore, or should i just bore out? Im tight on money. So im more likely to keep it a stock bore till next rebuild(depending on my jugs.)....but IS the banshee still gonna be powerful with a stock bore, with my other mods? Thanks a lot..
  15. alright what exactly will the the vforce reeds do, and what is a timing plate?
  16. Im about to purchase my first banshee. I talked to the seller, and he seemed on top of things, and knew what he was talking about..I was just wondering with some the mods done to it, if its a good setup, and done right.. here they are... "1997 banshee,T5 pipes, boost bottle,2'' over extended swing arm,K&N air filters, and prefilters.also has cool heads, with 18cc domes, and nerf bars.runs great, starts on second kick if its been sitting for a while, first kick if you been riding it"..... Alright...well the thing i was wondering about is the cool heads 18cc domes.. is there anything i need to be concerned about, or is it a normal mod? Im just trying to make sure there isn any short cuts he could have a taken, and me find out later, when its already purchased.. well thanks for your time..
