  1. the pressure plate has more than 1 arrow on it, and the inner hub has a couple of punched marks. i lined it up right though, i think you can do it like 3 ways out of 6..
  2. heres how i did it the first time - i put the adjuster on the lever in the middle then i adjusted the pancake bearing so that i had about .5 inch of free play (manual says to leave that free play) are you saying i need to elminate the free play?
  3. hey guys just want to make sure if i understand this thing right.... When i pull my clutch lever in my atv still moves forward very slowly. I also noticed that its hard to put it in neutral b/c its as if i werent touching the clutch... i cant get it right by adjusting the cable by the handlebar. My question is when i take the cover off, do i go clockwise or counterclockwise on the screw for the pressure plate?
  4. title says it all thanks, Alex
  5. pretty smart way to sell your bike.... dudes gonna get 5k for it
  6. hey can someone help out with this b/c im having the same problem. im not sure what im trying to adjust, and i dont see anything happen when move the screw in or out
  7. hey, in order to install the pancake bearing i have to smoothen out/drill out the center of the pressure plate? if not, the lock down nut will go in and get loose right?
  8. a timing plate only changes timing at WOT? Doesnt it advance timing all the time by whatever you set it at? do you guys do timing advance keyways? this is even cheaper...
  9. also, the manual i downloaded says that there is an O-ring that goes on the back of the clutch basket. My current basket didnt have the o-ring on it. the parts finder on Riva Yamaha doesnt show this O-ring, is it something i should worry about?
  10. Ok, i got everything ordered except for the clutch basket. Im not sure if i should go OEM or the Magnum basket. I spoke with a couple of people in my area and they say that the screws that hold the gear to the back of the aftermarket billet baskets are a PITA and always get loose. they said to just stick with the OEM stuff that comes built already and lasts a real long time what do you guys think? BTW thanks to everyone who has helped, without this site i would have gotten raped at some mechanic shop...
  11. ok, what do you guys reccomend i buy? its not a heavily modded bike, its got 150 psi heads, pro circuit pipes, pro design intake, and 28mm carbs what brand clutch? (i've seen EBC, YZF1000, and Vitos for under 80 dollars) -a new OEM clutch basket or a Magnum basket (others are too much $$$) since all that is being done should i modd my shift star and shaft?
  12. The springs are different colors and different heights - http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854037.jpg Adjusting screw is warped inside the pancake bearing looking thing (i dont think this is an actual pancake bearing). I think the pancake bearing replaces this piece? http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854035.jpg the manual says that there is a clutch plate, friction plate, and cushion ring. instead of 3 pieces, i have 2??? I also dont see that the clutch plates have cutaways so that i can align them 60 degrees from each other (manual) http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854042.jpg rod and ball look ok i guess? http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854036.jpg Case is banged up by inside http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854038.jpg
  13. Clutch boss and housing pics http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854044.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854045.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/SN854046.jpg
  14. First pic- I drew arrows to where i think there might be wear/tear. Not sure if this is a problem or is normal... Also, the arrow on the top right corner, is pointing at a metal tab that im not sure what it does or if it even goes there... Lastly, When i spin the outer clutch basket, there is a little play before the gear in the back starts to spin. Is this a problem? http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h62/alex29573/one.jpg
  15. i took everything apart and THANK GOD my ball and rod came out very easily... So now im not really sure what i'm looking for.. the manual has horrible black/white pictures that i cant really understand and this is my first time troubleshooting a tranny issue Im going to post pics up in a little bit of what everything looks like. Is the motor oil i put in yesterday supposed to be gray already? How do i know if the clutch is worn out or good?
  16. I got a banshee that had 30 psi in both cylinders, so i got the cylinders honed and put new rings on the pistons. I put it back together with all new gaskets and it has 40 psi now.. Can bad reeds cause low compression? what else?
  17. whats the normal temp??
  18. Hey all, I have a problem where my bike stll rolls forward when i have the clutch held in all the way. I tried adjusting the clutch cable on the handlebar first and that didnt do anything. Then i took the clutch cover off and I dont understand why I would see the clutches loosen up (i could wiggle them with my fingers) when i would hold the lever in and then the clutches would grab on tight when i pop the clutch. Anyways i adjusted the center screw down there, put it back together and the damn thing is still doing the same thing.. Please help!!!
  19. and what about the rev limiter? So is this a mod that no one here does? i've been reading around and have come up with some questions so if anyone can answer them it'd be appreciated- - How do VF2 reeds compare to VF3? - my main jets are 290s, why do i see people with huge motors/huge carbs running 155 jets? -On a stock bore, non ported, pump gas motor - whats the most compression and timing you can run reliably? - should i get a cool head or just have my stock head milled for proper psi/squish? thanks everyone
  20. Hey guys, I just got a banshee and can get an aftermarket AMR rev box locally and was wondering if it is worth the money? It says it changes timing, but i think you guys would recommend to change timing mechanically. right or wrong? it also says it lifts the rev limiter... Do banshees have a rev limiter? At WOT i dont hear the motor limiting any gear, i just shift into a higher gear when i feel it stops pulling.. thanks in advance!
