So I've made the decision to step up to a 4mil motor and I've got some bolt on stuff that needs to go. First up is a set of Toomey T5 pipes and silencers. Discoloring and spotty surface rust on bottom portion by the head flange and there's freckles of rust on the stinger tubes. Some tiny dents in the expansion pipes but there's one noticable dent on the right side muffler that faces toward the rear grab bar. My plan is to step up to R2s or CPI pipes for the stroker motor. I'll ship 'em anywhere in the US for $250 obo. Check out the pictures. Here's a pair of 30mm OKO carburetors. I'll throw in some foam UNI filters and outer wears. One of the carbs has a broken brass throttle cable screw on the top. CarbPartsWarehouse has them for $9.00. If I don't get any offers I'll purchase it and throw it on. Ran these on my stock stroke motor and made a HUGE difference once tuned over my tuned trinity single intake. Got a set of 35 Keihins on the way so these gotta go. I'll ship them to ya for $125 as is or replace the part and ship it for $135. Stock crank out of a running banshee. Pulled in favor of a 4mm crank. Threads and tapered ends are good. Picture looks like rust but its actually oil to keep her from rustin. I'll ship it for $50 obo? Here's a pair of stock jugs that will need their first bore/hone. They are currently at 64mm but as you can see the sleeves need freshening. These are an extra set I have that I planned on having ported but I decided to have the jugs on my bike ported instead. $125 gets them to your door. Here's a set of Works shocks that I know little about. They were on the Banshee when I bought it. I know that the middle of the three springs on both shocks are broke and need replaced. The other springs have the powdercoating chipped off and the rubber stop is beat up. The shafts look clean with no pitting. 14.5 inches from center of eye to center of eye. Maybe a good set for someone who knows there way around a shock to tinker with. I'll get them to ya for $50. Last item I have is a stock clutch cover. Has some rash on the insert from the brake pedal. Going with a lock-up clutch so this is useless for me. $35 shipped. Items are located in Albany, Wisconsin (just south of Madison). I'm open for some trades for things I still need for the bike such as lock up clutch and cover or billet clutch basket. I have a Pro-design head, 4mm crank, one piece intake, and VF3s already but anything else you have that I might need for my build hit me up. Thanks for looking! Jimmy

Today I find that the brass piece on the very top of my 30mm OKO carb is broke. Its the hollow brass bolt used to adjust the elevation of the slide up or down. I recently purchased a pair of 35mm Keihins so I'm looking to fix these so that I can sell them... saying that, if anyone knows where to source this part and wants to purchase them now, I'll let them go for $120 shipped with filters and throttle cable. Anyways, I'll post this in the for sale section once I can source a replacement piece. Thanks for the help!

You should have your money!

I tried ATF and the stuff stunk so bad after one day of riding I about threw up. That was some nasty burnt fluid that glazed my clutch frictions and ruined the remainder of my day. I've always used Belray gear saver and had great experience with it until trying ATF. Honda has some good motorcycle trans oil too.

Interested in $175 shipped to Albany, Wisconsin, 53502? If so, I've got paypal ready (I'll cover the 3%)
-
Its definatly worth checking out. All I can say is take it for a ride. With a modified motor, you'll want to check the compression and pull the plugs to examine them for proper jetting. See why it needed a rod replaced too.

Too lazy to read through nine pages, lol. But I've got "High Maintenance" on mine and it seems to be a good one with the crowd.

Coming to a Banshee oriented website is going to get you banshee biased opinions. You need to ride both of them and see what feels best. I will tell you that $2000 worth of YFZ probably isn't going to be as clean as $2000 worth of Banshee. Also, any high performance quad isn't going to be without high maintenance. The lack of precision valvetrain components makes a Banshee MUCH easier on the wallet and brain to rebuild. In all honesty, my Banshee is only apart right now because I'm dieing to build up a stroker motor. Otherwise, that motor was still very strong (stock 5 year old engine) PS: if you end up a proud owner of a banshee, you will have plenty of resources right here to help you with all your maintenance, performance, and cosmetic needs!
-
...and that is why a lot of sellers choose to part a bike out. The going price for fully modded banshees is quite dissapointing from a sellers standpoint. Its a nice machine you got there! PS: I could use a lock up clutch/cover lol

This guy's good. I'm suprised he doesn't sell cars for a living... delicate items were shipped carefully and quick. Great on prices, too. Its ashame politicians can't be as honest as him. I would not hesitate to purchase from TeamRealtreeHD again. Thanks for the trans! Jimmy

Help with transmission issue
gotta_goatsfast replied to gotta_goatsfast's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Plan is a 4mil stock cylinder ported to match the Toomey T5 power curve. Would stock replacement gears hold up to this? The motor that broke the trans now is stock port, stock internals with typical aftermarket bolt ons. I don't think an override would be a viable option for me since a lot of everything, from hair scrambles to trails to drag racing buddies. On a side note, do those sprocket shaft supports do any good? -

Help with transmission issue
gotta_goatsfast replied to gotta_goatsfast's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hmm, never thought of the splines. I've gotta find some time to actually take it apart, but in the mean time where could I order new gears? Any performance sets out there? Is this a common issue? -
After some intense riding on sunday, I started to feel a "skip" in the drivetrain under load. Most so when shooting up a hill in first or second. I was damn sure it was my chain jumping on the sprocket so I babied it back to camp for an inspection. The chain was well within normal spec (maybe a tad on the tight side when sitting on the bike) and there were no missing teeth on the sprockets. This leads me to believe the skip is in the transmission. I had already planned on pulling the engine and splitting the cases for a 4 mil crank. So, while I'm in there, anyone have any ideas where to look? Could it be a tweaked shift fork or a worn dog gear? Never had to touch a motorcycle transmission for repairs before so this will be a first.

When I bought my bike there was a single carb installed on there and it ran good. Replaced them last spring with 30mm okos and I've gotta say I'll never look back.

Its a long shot but interested if any other Banshees will be showing up. Its a fun ride and a fun event for anyone in Wisconsin or the surrounding states. http://www.trempealeaucountyatvclub.com/

Yep, and then they'll ask you some detailed questions about riding style and such until you truely have a port job tailored to you and your bike.
