  1. i think ill try the plus 4 anyway. my buddy vic says i can try an extra one that he has. our desert out here has gravel, sand, hardpacked dirt and even loose dirt, whoops and rocks. its like the baja 1000. its a mixture of everything. i will give this a try and post the results at a later date. i hope it works, it should look cool at least.
  2. my second banshee has plus 2" and plus 1" forward arms up front. im thinking of putting a plus four in the back so that the bike will be really stable going across the desert full blast. we do alot of wide open desert riding here in vegas. what do you guys think?
  3. that looks like a gruesome race. congratulations on finishing and your placement. thanks for sharing your pictures
  4. sorry for digging up an old thread. a really comfortable thumb throttle is one off of a raptor 660. they have a nice position and pull feel. we have used these on the yfz450's and its great. ive seen alot of people loop out bikes and quads with a twist throttle. i ve put thumb throttles on all of my dirtbikes and quads. i even put one on my kx500. the thumb throttle im using for that one is from a honda trx450. its got an extra pulley inside that acts like a short throw twist throttle. it feels great and ive never ever looped out the bike, even thru tight technical rocky hill climbs. i hope this info helps someone out there.
  5. holy shit! i have to say, your bike is beautiful. it looks really great.
  6. jeff suggested his same idea to me and it worked beautifully
  7. thanks for the reply. im going to just stick with whats normal even if it is more money. i was told that some weird kind of jetski pistons would have to be used. i dont want problems down the road trying to get different domes or a head in case it blows. i guess i will save the pennies and when im ready ill see what kind of deals the site sponsors will give on a package price.
  8. well i found out that they are twister cylinders and they are trying to just get rid of them. it seems like they wont be making them anymore. cheetah is the way to go
  9. come on fellas. give me some input. this sale ends saturday but i wont be in town. heading to dumont for some duning and freezing my ass off
  10. man, i love the look of the mx banshee's
  11. cascade sent out emails about their big sale. one of the items is a small block billet 10 mil x 71 bore cylinders for 995.00. it includes boost and triple porting, billet head, stainless bolts, domes of your choice and oring set. is this too good to be true? are these cylinders any good? what problems have you guys encountered if any? any info would be helpful. if they are really worth it im thinking of purchasing them for next years build. just my cub cylinders alone cost 800.00 and they are not even ported, so cascades sale sounds pretty good. banshee gurus please chime in and share your knowledge of this kit
  12. im not sure if we can make it to dumont yet. alot of family and little kids want to go and they are all talking about amargosa. ill let you know what the group and the women that wear the pants (haha) decide. im easy to find. orange banshee with a rhinocerous aboard. take care man
  13. that trip to goodsprings sounds like a good start for me. whats in goodsprings? is there a town? we should get a group together after these holidays and hit that trail.
  14. how you doin? how far is the ride from vegas to goodsprings, primm, and sandy valley? do you use your banshee? do you carry alot of extra fuel? im the desert rat on my group too. its what i love. i get pretty bored at the sand shooting the hill after about the first hour. i love the desert terrain more. i love apex. the only reason i made my banshee a duner is so that i can keep up with the rest of the drag racers when we go on a sand outing. my four strokes dont do anything for me on the hill with my gorilla weight. i have the money to build a ten mil alky blah blah blah, but im just not that into drag racing. id rather throw money into the trail/desert bikes. they are the bikes that i use the most and have the most fun on. the furthest ive gone at apex is to lake meade for a swim and then a ride back, and from apex to the firework stand in moapa. we ride out there, fuel up again, eat at the restaurant and then head back to vegas.
  15. dumont is alot of fun. usually there is alot of people hanging out and shooting the hill. you can find jerks that cut you off, people who make you laugh, people that claim they are racing you with a stock stroke, when its really a 4 mil, banshee's that look like they fished them out from the bottom of a lake, banshee's that look so shiny you dont even want to use them, little kids on big bikes racing big fat old men (me) and then act like they just did something so incredible, really fast four strokes, and really slow four pokes. the best part is that there are bathrooms everywhere so its okay to eat chilidogs and chilicheese fries all day. haha. be prepared to pay $40.00 for a day pass though.
  16. heres a little history for you guys. in vegas there are sand queens and desert rats. sand queens are people who only ride sand and only like flat smooth non whooped out areas. desert rats are the guys here in vegas that ride a place called apex. its where real men go to ride. its worse than the mexican baja 1000. its got cliffs, mountains, sand, hard packed dirt, loose dirt, gravel, and huge rocks. in vegas there are only two groups of people that are constantly out riding in sand and apex. almost every weekend. that would be the misfits from teamgodzilla and the looney lunatics from luna racing. so its only normal that both groups are always racing each other. both groups are pretty cool.
  17. who's the heaviest rider on a banshee. i ride trails, drag race, and dune just as fast as my lighter friends. i ride a kx500, banshee 421, yfz480, and a trx450. dirtbikes or quads, i dont care as long as im in the dirt. i ride every weekend. i weigh 345 lbs. i tell people that im an ATHLETIC fat. haha. who else in the banshee world is an active heavyweight ? we should start a sumo club. lol.
  18. im heading out to dumont i think on the 12th of december to fool around with another group of riders. im trying to convince vi and jeff and the rest of the guys to go but i dont think so. new years sounds good i think everybody is in on that ride. dont be offended if everytime you line up i avoid you, i got lung problems from sucking sand for so many years. im walking a thin line between life and death right now. one more breathe full of sand can send me to the other side man
  19. sorry we had to leave early i had a prior engagement with my future baby momma. lol. vic said your bike was working beautiful. congrats to you and cactus gus. it was a good and fun day for everyone
  20. thats cool. amargosa was nice, alot of people there. we saw one buggy wreck out there. it flipped upside down and the kid got hurt. people show off too much. i didnt know there was a trail to tecopa. how long is the ride? do you need to take extra fuel?
  21. looking for lectrons set up for alky and the cables and intake. 40mm would be preferable but im told that the 38's will work too. let me know. thanks
