hey guys just ran across this thred ..just now switching over from snowmobile mode to quad ....i live like 40 minuites from the park and would like to join the group dont know anybody ...was gonna go to the chicken run 50 in baldwin mi ...but fuel pump has been making some funney noises and didnt start today had to kick the tank ...from the look of the group picture it looks like everyone meets in the right hand corner of the lower parking lot ? guess just look for the pack of shees

well i got my 96 yokon 350 vortec a few years back ....when i got it i was told the cruise controll works sometimes and the trans was shifting funney ,,,found out the trans was the troq converter not locking up ...so i have ran my own switch to manually lock it up ...my the cruise will just shut off out the blue and not work for a few minuites or a few day depends on how the truck feels ( i was told about the brake light switch but didnt solve the problem),,,i was told it started after having the flowmasters put on it...but now i blew the heater controll switch 150 dollars for a used on and i am blowing radios like crazy ...they work for mabe 5 minuites to 30 minuites and than no sound .gone threw 4 stock radios one sony and one jvc .and sometimes the trans shifts smooth from first to second and sometimes it shifts so hard i think the rear diff is gonna explode ....i am at my wits end and ready to give up ....i have been thinking about all this for years now and all i can figure is mabe i got a bad ground somewere from the back serge from them welding the flomasters on it ....has anyone had any of these problems on any gm fullsize from 96 to 99 2000 ish are suppost to be the same setup ...

yup mine was doing the same i think i narrowed it down to carbs not being synced rite and float level was off ....but without knowing more hard to say what you need ...i am running same setup as you and ride at 800 ft and run 290 or 300 withh 27,5 ...and middle clip position

could be tors ...mine the throttle cable was sticking just a bit ...try disconnecting tors

what jets are you running?plugs will be light color to show lean ...or do a plug chop...

make sure the cable aint getting stuck were 2 split into 1 ....

honestly i dont think the swap will effect it ...if leaner on one side check for air leaks on intake boots and boost bottle tubes ...mabe reeds , i am no pro by no means just a start for you to look into

yes had 270 and 25 in it ...it was dripping antifreeze on the stem and running hot so i was told jetting was lean and it had a bad bog ...i have gone back to a 290 and 27.5 and reset the floats and seems to be alot better but aint got anywhere to open it up to make sure ...i am thinking it might have just been bad fuel that was in it ...or the floats cause the were about a 1/16 inch too high ...thanks for all the help guys ill post back if it aint right but i think i am real close ...

i took a good known pair off of my srx 700 and there is no change ...and after riding again today ...i was off on my description ...if i hit the gas it hesitates to go for a second and than runs like a dream til i get to second gear and at wide open it goes for a second and than starts spuddering til i let off the gas to like half throttle or less ....and in 5 or 6 it is a dog dont want to hit the powerband and spudders bad ...

ok i figured out it is not the brake rev limiter i did have it unpluged so i pluged it back in and it ran horriable ,,i unplugged tors and still ran the same ...the left pipe has oil all around the joint and by looking in the tail pipes it is alot oiler than the right ...i have had these carbs off at least 10 times and are spotless ...when i got it it had 270 and 25 poilet ....now i am at 300 and 27,5 ...seems to run good in first.... but when at half throttle or so i can hear it drop a cylinder and lose power ...any ideas i am willing to try had it for months and have yet to get it running rite

thanks guys ill try unplugging it ...i also put avs levers on iy so i belive the brake switc is just hanging under tank,,,so if i unplug tors at the carbs it will bypass the system ? and just unplug the brake light switch to bypass cut out switch ?
