My buddies dad had this happen, thought something was fishy. We saw a good deal on a raptor 700 hundred he wanted on the seattle CL. He emailed the guy and the guy gave him the same kind of deal. My buddies dad said he was in Washington. The guy replied and said he was in Florida. So my buddy emails the guy and says hey I live in Florida, where is the bike located. The guy says Tacoma, WA. That's why they don't put a location on their ads. F-ing scammers! They want you to send them your hard earned money. Those pictures probably came from somebodies legit ad.

chain and brake line length for +8 swingarm?
05stroker replied to sandstalker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Cascade's website says 130 link chain for +8 up to 14-46 gearing, 27 inch brake line. -
I have no problems with the money aspect and I'm not looking for any hand outs. The guy with the dyno has been extremely busy with the summer coming up. I think he has a day job and does the tuning and testing on the side. The biggest issue is going to be time. If we have the time we will test as many pipes as we can. Any of the pipes we test could surprise us. I am no expert on motor building or pipe theory so it will be interesting to see the differences between these pipes. I think the fatty's are similar to the T5's. Snop has done testing with the PT mids and I believe they are similar to the Pro Circuits with a little less power across the curve. Maybe snop will chime in. I would try both and see what runs best for you since you have both.

Yes, the only reason we are possibly going to dyno the trinity's is because there was some interest in them in another thread. We don't think they will do very well, just want to show some different pipes. We are only going to test them if we have time. I got a quote on the dyno time and it's going to cost me a couple hundred dollars.

I just talked to the guys at Rooster Built with the dyno. He said that they have been very busy. We have tentatively scheduled for next weekend the 19th or 20th. As soon as I get the numbers you guys will see them. Another friend just bought a banshee with Trinity stage IV pipes. We will be testing the Pro Circuits and CPI's for sure and if we have time possibly the Trinity's.

Snop was riding my bike. I have a helmet cam video of me riding it. I tried uploading it to vimeo the other night and the file was too large. I will attempt to compress it and post it up.

I just called the shop with the dyno. Waiting for a call back. I'm hoping to get it on the dyno this weekend. I will update this as soon as I hear from the shop. The bike runs pretty strong. It pulls pretty well and it's cool how low you can lug these servals and roll on the throttle without clutching it, a little lag at first but you need to be holding on when it hits the power band. I can't get it to hook up on even dry pavement, I realize the +4 swingarm doesn't help but it blows the tires off in every gear.

I have reservations and will be heading down with Snop. I can't wait to get down there. Just got the new serval together this weekend.

You will be able to see what it does first hand in April too. I will be down at Coos Bay with everyone.

I just got my serval cub setup from Jeff at FAST on Thursday. Great guys to deal with for sure, Jeff spent almost an hour on the phone with me discussing my setup and what I was wanting to accomplish. I already had a 4 mil crank that I was running with my stock cylinders so it was just a matter of switching out the topend. I got everthing put on between yesterday and today. It passed the leak down test and I got it fired up today. Since I'm still breaking it in I haven't really gotten a feel for what it is capable of. The road infront front of the house was wet and I couldn't keep the tires from spinning even taking it easy. I still need to check the cranking compression to verify it is safe for pump gas. It should be around 160 or so. So here's the setup for now. 4mil longrod hotrods crank 58x68 serval cub with clean up port Stock reed cages w/ boysen power reeds 28mm mikuni flatslides Pro circuit pipes Stock timing plate with advance done through dynatek custom curves Pro design cool head New magnum billet basket and FAST heavy duty clutch kit, I have an undercover slingshot if needed. After I get a few more heat cycles done I will be taking this down to Rooster Built in Auburn, WA for some dyno time. We have seen the dyno runs on the cpi's from other dyno's. There was some debate about the pro circuit's being the way to go for the low mid power. I know every dyno is different so we will be testing pro circuit's and cpi's on this motor and the same dyno to see what comes out on top. This is the pipe/ carb combo I had on my stock cylinder setup and with the cost of the serval setup I can't afford to go with anything different right now. So we will see what the dyno numbers say on the pro circuit's. Here's a few pics for now, I will hopefully have the dyno time scheduled soon.

Jeff is definitely the man! I think I talked to him for about an hour yesterday ordering my serval cub setup. Customer service is great and I can't wait to get the parts and start putting this thing together. Thanks Jeff!

Full Flight Arms with 450 shocks......issue!
05stroker replied to 12 0 Clock P I M P's topic in Suspension
It's hard to see in the pics, but after you try turning them around you need to make sure that that hiem joint isn't binding before the shock is fully extended. With those shocks being longer than stock you could break one of those hiems if that is what stops your a-arms from traveling down. -

Try turning the base around, looks like it will give you about 1/4" more of clearance or so. I think the screws face the inside on the 450's from the factory. That's the way I have mine and it's easier to get a screw driver in that way for adjusting. -
Do you have any pics of the swingarm?

I have my banshee insured through allstate. I think I had them value it around $7,000 when I set it up 5 years ago. I pay about $190 a year for the insurance.

Im running the gold X-ring chain from cascade. It is 120 links, they said the 120 would fit a +4 and most sprocket combos.
-
I didn't even think about the shock. I am also about 220 and I was bottoming the shock with the stock swinger. I bought the $100 heavy duty spring from Cascade when I put the swingarm on. It definetly made a big difference.

I run a 5" wheel in the front, they have a 3" backspacing. My wifes TRX450 has the wide offset wheels thanks to RMATV. I will soon buy her a set of +2 arms and standard offset wheels. When in the dunes the ruts in the flats and the trails grab the front end of the honda and pull it around. No, it's not because it's a honda. I've ridden other bikes with the offset wheels too. Think about what it does to your steering, the wheel is farther from the ball joints. I think it is called scrub angle. When you turn the bars to the left your left tire will actually swing behind your ball joints and your right tire will swing out in front of the ball joints. It really does affect your handling. If you draw an imaginary line through your ball joints to the ground this is where the center of the tire should be for best handling. That way your tire will pivot instead of swing. Yes, the offset wheels work for added stability, but at the cost of a little handling. Some may not notice it but I can't stand it.

I'm runnning close to that hp number and I have the +4. You shouldn't have to change your gearing unless you are unhappy with what you have. I'm running 22x11x8 super light 10 paddles and I am running 14-46 gearing. I like the lower gearing, I can launch really well in second. I only ride in the sand and the tree shots in Oregon can be a little tight for the higher geaing.

I would be curious to see how a twister small block would compare to the new seraval cub. I hear the small blocks have a good usable power all the way through. I've seen the graphs for the serval and really like the looks of what I see. I haven't seen any graphs for the small block, but have heard good things. The small block definitely looks badass.

I'm just south east of Seattle. Coos Bay gets my vote. Actually heading there in a couple weeks, but next spring sounds good too!

That would be me. I am running a 4mil long rod with dune ported stock cylinders at the moment. I have a cool head with 19cc domes at about 175 psi. The cylinders are on their first bore at .030. I think it comes in at 372cc or something close to that. I'm running pro circuit pipes, tm 28mm flat slides, and stock reed cages with boysen reeds. The bike has good usable power and runs pretty well, but I think with this serval cat I would see a definite power increase. If I could make the same or even more hp/ tq on pump gas I would be very interested. The $5 a gallon savings would pay for this setup in about 2 years. (race fuel= $8 per gallon, 92 octane= $3 per gallon). I could get with Snope and put my current setup on the crank dyno and get the numbers on the race gas. Then swap out the cylinders and install the serval and run it on the dyno. We could try the lower compression domes on pump fuel and even try a set of higher compression domes on race fuel. See how much advantage their is either way.

I would have to say Pro Circuits. I am pretty happing with mine, great low and mid. I am running them with a 4mil setup as well.
