  1. The Honda 450r has a 500 big bore with a 3 mil stroker crank, full exhaust, edelbrock carb, 208 cam, 12.5 to 1 pistons and ported and polished. What kind of power do you think he is making? I have a 4 mil stroker, .060 over wiseco pistons, fatty pipes, +4 timing, ported and polished. The porting was done by previous owner. This was not his first time but he does not do it professionally. Im running stock carbs and compression is about 140-145 with 15-41 gearing.
  2. I was also looking at some Realtor tires. How do the ride? They look like they might be rough as hell on hard ground.
  3. I put the new seal in and used some sealant around it. The other seal had not went bad, It just looked like it was pushed out. I hope it was not from pressure in the tranny. I am changing the gear oil and was wondering how much does the manual say to put back in it? (crank case oil capacity)
  4. thats a good idea about the cylinders. It looks to be a thich head gasket. On a 4 mil crank, the piston only comes 2mm out of the top of the jug right?
  5. I am running the fatty pipes. I think i will go with the 15 up front. I talked to the guy that ported them and he said the jugs were opened up a good bit. I think i am just going to run it ported like this for now until its time to freshen up the top end.
  6. I think it more of a home ported (not professionally done). I do mostly trail with alot of 1/8 mile drags in fields and i live along the coast of NC as for the elevation.
  7. I thought the same thing. I bought it with these gears on it. Even with it geared that high, it still has no problem pulling the wheels off the ground in 4th.
  8. Sorry about the double post, Please delete one. Thanks
  9. I just bought an 02 Banshee and it has a few mods and i was wondering what else would help my set up the most. It has a 4 mil crank, port and polished, fmf pipes, k@n filters, jetted and has stock head and carbs with about 140lbs of compression. I am running 17-41 gearing. I have run a 700 raptor that had a pipe and power commander. He jumps me out the hole about 3 lengths and by the time i hit third i am coming back around him and can toy with him on top end. Just thought i would give you guys some idea of how it runs. Im not sure if thats really good or not but it sure feels like its hauling ass. I had a modded banshee back in the mid 90s but there were not near as many 4 strokes with any power to run against back then.

  11. I guess you are right about that. It sure would be nice if i can get it in that way. Thanks for the info
  12. Do you happen to know the part number for that seal or do i have to get a whole kit? I hope i can put it in with out having to split the case. Maybe someone will ring in that knows for sure. Thanks
  13. The leak turned out being the seal on the sprocket shaft. How hard is it to change and what is involved. Do i have to take the motor off or split the case.
  14. I have not had a chance to tear it down yet but i noticed a puddle of gear oil under the front sprocket. I noticed some drops coming off the little white plastic piece (what ever that is). Im new here and i just bought an 02 and found the problem while riding today. Is there some kind of oring behind that plastic piece or do you think it would be coming from behind the sprocket.
