  1. Yea they came on the quad when i bought it-i would not have bought them but they do the job. Cool keep us updated on how it does. with my preload all the way up it sits about 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher than stock. You got lucky there but the problem is you can't use them with the stock banshee spindles- it will not allow enough travel to fit a 17.25 inch shock unless you have the yfz spindles.
  2. Ideally you want to find the whole assembly spindles, hubs, rotors and brakes. you cant interchange everything plus the yfz has far better dual piston brakes. Mine came off a 07 but i know the 08's had better valving. i think that is most peoples complaints about the yfz shocks on a banshee-they are to stiff, i ran them for a couple weeks and i definitely think it is worth swapping to the ltr. they measure almost two inches longer and when you swap to yfz spindles you gain almost three inches of travel that you can use with ltr shocks and get more clearance.
  3. They feel a little softer but better than the yfz shocks-i think with the stock banshee spindles the yfz shock are better because they are the right length for the travel you have, if you had the ltr socks now your ball joints would be stopping the suspension. however when/if you upgrade the spindles it is a very noticeable improvement. good luck
  4. Lmao  i wish i would have thought of that haha lol +1 I am also running the stock yfz rims and from outside to outside it measures just under 47 inches, and yes i have all the preload out of them (i am 215lbs) i have not adjusted them yet but it seems a little soft so i might stiffen it up a bit. So are you planning on building your ltr and using the stock parts on the banshee frame ?
  5. It hit's the pipe
  6. No modifying-the only thing i had to do was make a half inch spacer (with washers) because the shock is a little more narrow than the frame mount but i think the spring is a little wider as it needs to go all the way forward anyway so it does not hit the arm.
  7. Well after running my yfz arms/shocks with banshee spindles at glamis a few weeks back i was happy but wanted to get my height back so i decided to take it to the next level and get a set of yfz spindles as well,(it gives you about 3 more inches of travel) So with this new travel it allows you to run a longer shock (about 17.5 max) i know others have run 18 and 18.5 but i dont like the idea of having the ball joints stop all the weight of the front end. so after doing some searching i found the suzuki ltr450 shock is 17.25 inches long and i found a set for $150 shipped and let me tell you i went out this weekend to superstition and i was hitting some good jumps and the whoops on pole line rd. in 5th gear and it was soaking them up not to mention the fact that it now measures 12.75 inches from bottom of front of the frame by bumper and stock it was 12.0. i am sure i am not the first to try these but figured it was becoming a popular mod and might save some guys the trouble of searching. it does take a little work because you need to get them all the way forward so the spring does not rub on the upper arm but nothing a few washers cant fix. my only regret is they are not yamaha lol
  8. I have the complete yfz front end and could not be happier. i think when you install the shocks only they are a little long for stock arms so maybe your maxing out the suspension,,, or possibly the shock is frozen and stuck all the way out so it's not allowing any travel ??? Some pictures would help
  9. Yea i could not believe the difference either, as far as my set up i will be keeping the yfz arms now that i have the spindles and noss tie rods but i will be changing the shocks. fully dropped it measures a little more than 17.5 inches so ideally i am looking for a shock no more than than 17.0 i am kind of bum because i found a guy locally that has a couple pairs of brand new nice can-am rez. shocks but they are 18.5 inches so i think it would put to much stress on my ball joints when i jump i thought about adding 17inch limiting straps but i think it would sit to high so the search continues hell since i plan on keeping this set up i might even just bite the bullet and by a new set of works.
  10. I see your way of thinking and you are correct on the upper being the problem however i would be a little iffy on heating up the spindle it could make them weaker and not worth the money you can find spindles for. i ran my 450 arms/shocks for a couple weeks and had the chance to test it at glamis and was very happy but i would like to bring it up a bit so i found a set of complete 450 spindles, rotor, calipers and hubs for $70 shipped now i am looking for longer shocks, here is a picture after swapping one spindle over to the 450 (right in picture) it gives me about 3 more inches of travel not to mention another benefit is the much better dual piston brakes. now with that being said just using the stock 450 arms/shocks is a great improvement over stock and i would have been more than happy with that but thats not me.
  11. Both front's sold still have rear for $50
  12. If you are willing to separate the shocks only let me know how long they are and send pictures to [email protected]. Thanks
  13. As much a s i would love to buy a lt kit for my shee my buggy takes most of my toy funds lol i did the yfz450 front end and love it. i know a guy in la selling a set of a-arms in great condition for $125 shipped and i have a set of shocks for sale in the for sale section. good luck
  14. Sorry can't do it, shipping will be around $60, Thanks Back at you,Thanks The rear will not work on a banshee, it is like a bonus and could be sold for $50-75 to recoop some money. Thanks
  15. Very nice  i am liking those r shocks. i have the chance to pick up a set of 18.5 inch shocks but was a little concerned because there is only 17.5 inches between shock mounts when fully extended, so does that mean the ball joints are going to limit the travel instead of the shock ?
  16. I have a set of 2005 factory shocks off of a yfz450 in good condition. $200 plus shipping from San Diego
  17. Ok forget the 19.5 elkas i am getting ready to pick up a set of 18.5 but i have a question if i use anything longer than 17.5 wont it rely on the ball joint to stop ? fully extended after installing my yfz spindles it measures 17.5 so wouldn't the shock serve as a type of limiter ? i just think that is a lot of weight to be on the ball joints if the shock is longer than the limit am i over thinking this ? also i forgot to get the stock brake lines which it looks like i need does the top part adapt on the banshee lines or do i have to change something else ? Thanks
  18. As long as you can weld anything is possible although i am not sure about using a +2 yfz arm that will be about 8.50 inches (total) wider than the banshee for $250 you can get a set of stock yfz450 arms with good ball joints and s set of shocks. it would be about 4.50 inches wider than stock (basically a +2+1) i just did my swap last week and am very happy so good luck either way you chose.
  19. Do i need the whole front assembly or do banshee rotors/calipers and hubs bolt on to yfz spindles ? Thanks
  20. Cool so maybe i will go ahead and pick them up all i can tell is they are made by kyb there really is not much info. on them them (like quality) i am looking for set of yfz spindles as well lol the angle looks good right now with the yfz shocks but i guess when i bring it up a couple inches it will be different. Thanks
  21. I know this guy locally who has a set of nib 450 can-am shocks. they have rezzies and are 18.5 inches long. has any one ran these ? i am happy with my yfz450 arms and shocks but don't like how i lost almost 2 inches of ground clearance so i am wondering if these will better suit me. Thanks
  22. I have a almost new set of gbc 21x7x10 shark fin front tires. they have about 3-4 trips on them and are in excellent condition with nipples still on them. $50 plus shipping or can be picked up in San Diego.
  23. I was looking at my bike last night and noticed my shocks are rubbing on both sides in the back against the upper a-arm ? what the hell has any one else had this problem or is it just me ? i dont know what i could have done differently i have not heard of this happening to any one else. maybe i will just try in put some washers to space it out ?
  24. They seem to be harder and harder to find but they are out there. i bought my set a few weeks ago and got lucky. the arms cost me $75 and shocks were $125 i think the average is $100-150 for the arms and $150-200 for the shocks. i finished my install last week and headed to glamis over the weekend and i am very happy with the improvement. good luck
  25. I just finished putting on my yfz arms on my banshee this weekend and ran in to the same problem and no dealer within 60 miles had new ball joints in stock then one of my buddys told me to check the local parts store and what do you know you can buy a new ball joint dust boot for $5 for a two pack and the 1/2 shaft size fits nice and snug. good luck
