Well if it is hard to start cold then it sounds like you have a lean condition. If you are running stock pipes with a 4 mill you are costing yourself a ton of power. What carbs do you have and what jets are you running in them? Also what elivation are you riding at?
-
Did you rejet the bike when youchanged the pipes? What pipes were you running before you but the new ones on?
-
If it is his parkiing brake sensor the bike should idle just fine right? I agree it sounds like the parking brake but that only affects the bike when you rev it up the idle should be right. Sounds more like a carb problem to me. Sounds like maybe he is not getting fuel on the right side.

Carrier has a death grip on axle- Help
BUILDER replied to kpmengr's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
One way that works is take the nuts off and put a good hard 4x4 on the ground then hold the axle up in the air and drop it on the board a few times and they usally will come right off. -
LOL you beat me to it locogaton i was going to say if you want bigger than 4 then 10 is the only way.

We have a group of us that are planning on heading to Glamis in March of 09. We will be leaving from Oregon. Thought i would post and see if there was anyone that wanted to join up for the trip. We are a fun group of guys to ride with and it should be a great trip. A few of us have been there most have not so it should be a blast. We will probably ride for 5 days. We are planning on leaving on the 11th. If you are interested hit me up and as the we get more details i will let you know. We may have room if someone wants to just throw there bike in and share fuel costs. I know we have two enclosed trailers going for sure right now and maybe more. I cant wait for it to get here!

I agree with dajogejr. I have ran T6 pipes myself and my buddy ran them on his ported 4 mill for a long time. They run very well and will out preform fatty's any day of the week.

If it is a bitch to start cold but runs good once it is warmed up then you have a lean condition. Like the guy ask before me what are your pilot jets and what has been done to the bike?
-
Good point firebanshee. I always foregt to mention that. We have done that to all of our bikes it does make the bearings last a lot longer.
-
Ok here you go. The bearing number is 6007-2RJS that is a good number at napa and the seal number is 16898 that number is good at napa also o the seal number is a c/r number if they ask you.
-
Yes you can i buy the bearings and seal both from my local napa parts store. I know i have the numbers at home i will dig them out when i get home tonight.
-
Yep sounds like you found your problem. LOL if it moves up and down a half inch there are out for sure. You really need to put the seals in also when you do the bearings. I have the numbers around some were for the bearings so you can just go buy them at a local parts store. They are way cheaper that way and good bearings. I will see if i can find were i wrote those numbers down at.
-
Put a five gallon bucket under the middle of you bike and when you spin the rear axle see how hard it turns. It should turn nice and smooth. I am guessing your noise is the bearings trying to lock up. If you turn it and they are bad you will know it. Also there should be no play side to side if it moves at all your bearings are out. Let us know what you find out.

Your jetting should be really close to were it needs to be. If it was fine when you first rebuilt it then you do not have a jetting issue because that will not just change for no reason. I personaly dont think it is worth boring stock carbs but other people may disaggre with that. If your bike does not have a port job you really have no need for bigger bore carbs. Sounds like to me you may have an electrical issue. You may have a weak coil on or a stator problem. How did it run after you replaced the fouled plug?
-
You have got to split the cases to replace the seals. The reason you have got to do that is the seals all have a ring around them that sits in the case halves. Believe the guys when they say you have got to split the cases.
-
You got something in your pilots jets when you took your carbs apart. I would take the carbs back off and take the pilots out and make sure to blow through the pilot jet holes real well and then put them back on. It sounds like to me that your jetting should be in the ball park.
-
Thats less than i payed for the same setup on one of my bikes. So i would say it is a good deal.

Got My CPI Inframes Today Not Impressed at all!
BUILDER replied to ICULOKN's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Ya i have a 4 mill with a pretty good port job and i am very happy with my T'5S I have no problem beating my buddy who has the CPI inframes on his and the same motor setup -
As long as you are careful you should have no problem getting it back on without putting anything on the key. Like the other guy said i would take the flywheel back of and check everything over really good i think you will find that something in there just did not get back right.
-
If it ran fine before you installed the plate then you either have the gap to big or you did not get the plate back down in were it sets all the way or like the other guy said make sure you didnt retard the timing instead of advancing it. Or you may have pushed the key out when you were putting the flywheel back on.

Got My CPI Inframes Today Not Impressed at all!
BUILDER replied to ICULOKN's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Several of my friends have bought CPI pipes and have been really unhappy with the quality of the work. They have never had two pair fit the same and several of them have came with no hardware at all. LOL that why i have stuck with the Toomey's -
Did it run ok before you did this? It really sounds like to me that you did not get the pickup set right. Are you sure you had the flywheel turned to the right spot when you adjusted the pickup?
