i got a smooth wcr duneable trans so shifting should be effortless for the air shifter..... id like to have an electric over air shifter...no ignition interrupt ... tedder what do you run for electric and air...i ran a 12v drill type battery for my nos, that should work there but what for a air tank? j-madd what are you gonna do with yours???? matt
-
guys I need to know some info on air shifters...... i got the full lock up and dunable override and i figured it would be nice to just shift with the push of a button.... but which are banshee guys running....air over air or electric shifter like solenoids???? i dont want one's with shift interrupt or nothing like that....just need something to move the shifter....... it would have to pull up wouldn't it instead of pushing the shifter down????? or is this just a waste of time????and would it be more consistent???? Matt

yea i know i need one..but i got a 10month old boy and got laid off work so ...it can wait a while..lol
-
yea im not running a pancake bearing so im afraid of welding the push rod to the ball..... even perfectly adjusted my clutch really feels like shit i think,,its stiff all the way in and has no soft point.. matt
-
that could have a lot to do with my problem....cable is new..i got a neutral down trans so i can t set in neutral with the 1st stage light on then click up twice and on a normal run i would say i set there and rev and idle with the clutch pulling for about 15 seconds i guess at the most.......it seem like longer but it might not be..just a guess matt
-
jim from sand toys done these cylinders....my bogging problem was becuase i was fat on the bottom...i leaned iot up a bit and turned the timing up a lil and fixxed that but im still haveing clutch probs becuase the clutch pulls through the lever when pulled in...i can take the lock out off and its fine but slips on the big end...so if i can lock it up a lil less the 60ft it should run 3.9's all night i run 4.03's witha 60ft of like 1.58 when it needs to be in the 1.48's matt
-
that thing looks crazy....lol yeah i cant afford a sticker from wilburn let alone any of there products...i havent made it to that class yet...lol matt
-
i was just curious what they look like and how the fit.... yea im not going any further then 300ft for now so im good on a single clutch.... i just heard today that the 300ft asphalt track i go to wont run quads anymore....it was close by too... the only other asphalt track is a 1/8 and its pretty far of a drive and they run on Thursdays.... also does anyone know or ever measured the tallness or height of the stock clutch springs??? matt
-
i talked to him today i had to have a cpi welded on agin... he said he ran a 3.74 in the left lane and 2 guys out ran him 1 was a 7mm.... his motor aint a super cub i looked at it today..its a dan haul 465 cub with 39 pwk's 23inch 16 paddle rippers... he says its not drag ported but i argued that...lol bryan where can i look at a multi stage clutch????or are they custom applicated??? matt
-
i dunno Dave if it was 07 or 08..i think 08...he said he ran a record pass and didn't want his bike tore down because he said it wasn't important..hes a funny like that.. he said then another couple guy's passed him for it and then a 7mm cub took them all by nearly a 0.010 or more maybe... his name was wyatt kirk it was a maroon cherry lookin superman banshee....or that year it might have been green with superman grill and asteroids painted on it.... its the same bike thats in the ionia pics that was posted a day or so ago..... matt

you guys can enter the same index class at planet sand...that way its a heads up tree my buddy has a 10mm cub fully drag frame and all that runs 3.79's and at gilbert last year he was out ran by a 7mm for the class record i think..... the reason i started this topic is becuase i was told over the phone by charlie ohton that they was topsecret with there clutch info...and he siad when i got the set up spot on that a set of clutches would last only a couple weekends....well i have ran my lockup for close to 2 years now with out ever turning a bolt on it and i figured there had to be more to gain from it...i dont think i need more wieght becuase the clutch pulls to good.... so i figured to keep from blowing the tires off the first 30ft of every track i have been to that i could maybe make it slip....i dont want to run hd springs and stock springs doesnt seem to even make a diference at all...i thought i could maybe cut them...im not going to,,,i just wanted to know if it cuold be done and has anyone tried it.... i just want to find a way to keep from blowing the tires off 30ft-60ft out of the gate.... i set as far back as i posibly can with 180-200lbs i turn my timing down a fraction and it bogs i gear higher and it bogs air pressure doesnt help adjust my limiter and it goes either way..it bogs or comes out and spins if i go 1 inch shorter on the arm and hooks to hard and wants to bounce, even with the bar on the ground i guess im gonna just deal with it becuase im outta options right now... matt

i guess binding could happen when heating the springs to weaken them as well??? sand ,,dirt or asphalt,,,im using the same set up just changing gears and tires.....and run good enuff to not worrie about being off the pace ... sand 300ft 3.97 16/ 42 and used 22 sls 13 paddles dirt 300ft 3.91 16/40 prowedges 300ft asphalt 3.93 16/40 american racers i dont run spray anymore because it was overpowering the track and it wasnt gaining what i thought it should.... but not alot of difference from my experience ..... matt

there tusk springs from when my bike was a trail bike about 4 years ago...im guessing there hd dirt hooks alot like asphalt...the track guy doesnt do much maintenance to the top end so its like shiny clay... basically the 1st 100ft is dished up good...no 1 runs paddles on the track..just prowedges or terrain tracks....most stock bikes run ohstu's or cut turf tamers its a struggle to keep traction all the way down i guess i could adjust my pressure plate to slip a lil but wouldnt that weld the clutch rod and ball together???? i have to hold my brakes at the line becuase it pulls when im on the limiter..... matt
-
oh yea and my wheelie bar wheel is 6 -8 inches off the ground...i like for it to pack em kinda high so i know my power is going to the back..... the bar its self is 6ft and my wheel base from axle to axle is 6ft.... matt
-
i weigh 190lbs...i run pro wedge 1's that are alot bigger then the 2's so there a lil heavier but hook real good.. im geared 16/41 2nd gear launch....it hooks about the time i hit 3nd if i could make my clutch weak enuff to slipa small bit till around that point then the lockout should apply enuff presure to not slip after that point.. i was always told that when a lockup style clutch was used to its maximum in cars, rails, atv's, ect, that a set of clutches wouldn't last very long at all..but you wouldn't have hardly any wheel spin at all....just drop it and go fast.... track condition does change but that's why you get cool down time to work on your bike setup in between runs i always thought??to adapt to track conditions?? matt
-
do you slip your clutch manually???? see i just want to drop the clutch and it slip on it own just a slight bit... heres my problem im trying to fix.... when i drop the clutch and the bike takes off i launch good,, but after about 30ft i hit the wheelie bar and its on it the rest of the way down....seems like nothing i do,,,tire psi,,,wieght adjustment ,,,ect nothing seems to hook straight outta the hole like im wanting.... i shortened the swingarm and got a lot of wheel hop so im figuring that the clutch would have to be the way to fix it... matt
-
so it is possible to do though....... i wouldnt know really what springs is in my bike i just have a pyle of them in a bucket..... right now my bike pulls through the clutch and i need to adjust it all.... matt
-
yea i know because of the good deal i had to take them.... ill be doing prolly 60/40% dirt/asphalt same distance away from both tracks but this season the dirt is staying rained out and the hardtop is running every weekend almost....so when i cant run one ill run the other if i can...lol thanks for the concern though azcustomquads,, i ran 22inch smoothies on the streets a couple years ago with tubes in them just in case.... matt
-
has any of you guys tried cutting some on your clutch springs for better 60ft's???? i heard it would slip a lil outta the hole if you cut a ring off them and then the centrifugal force would lock it up for good clutch on down the track.... does anyone have any info on this subject or does everyone run them outta the box ready to go.... matt
-
my way is kinda complicated but its quick.... i keep mixxed gas in a 1 gallon jug witha barb on the end of it that fits our fuel line equipped with a shut off valve spliced in...... i turn my fuel off and idle my bike outta fuel or alky until it stalls....then unhook the line at the tank and then simply plug my jug to it,, turn the valve on and fill the bowls up with gas then unhook and plug the tank line back in and leave the petcock off and run or idle my bike till it stalls agin...it leaves just enuff gas in the bowl that when you start it the next time it will fire right up ...my bike is hard to start on alky only if its cold... this way i dont have to drain any alky at all just carry a gallon jug to the track..lol all these parts was under $10 bux counting the lil red 1 gallon fuel jug....a foot of 5/16 fuel line...inline cut off valve....and brass barb that threaded into the white or black plastic neck of the gas jug... this all worx good for me if this makes any cents????...lol matt
