i considered this route too.... is it worth big bore sleeving your drag ported 66mm cylinders??? what would you gain hp wise compared to cost of reporting and all that?? not to mention new 68mm pistons and domes you would really have to be in love with your port work wouldnt you??

It was 2006 when I owned the 500..im trying to remember right seemed like it had 60cc dome on race gas 230lb comp...im trying to remember the specs...i do know that like the bike sits in that pic it ran 4.60et 300ft dirt...launching in 3nd 165lb rider my 421 cub on alky couldn't do that with out a cut trans with similar setup

Yea pretty sure we built two motors one was dynoed and mine was a clone...so its what I wad told in that range five or take....why is it way off compared to other 500s???

My old cr500 was a 86 short rod motor hill ported with a fmf gnarley and 38 pwk and it wasn't close to .4hp per it made 90+hp and nearly 75tq....not 200hp

Maybe a 32hp 80cc 2 stroke ported alky...lol

what do you have to change to make it duneable ...sprrings on fork rods and have barrells redone??

i think that's why i cant tell much on mine because its toed out a lil at ride height ....its somthing ill have to look at though...thanks for bringing it up

getting a good deal...ported on race gas with 18 domes and +5 time could make 80 hp..i was told on alky mine would make 98hp

i agree i tried my best to talk the guy that has the mx cylinders ( my cousin) into buying these cubs but this is his 1st banshee and hes scared i believe...hes plenty happy with the mx cylinders but is gonna go full hillclimb and i try to explain its not enough for competition on the hills.....its a smoking deal on the cub becuase it comes with pistons and all to just have a brand new topend that makes 80-100 hp

there stock stroke cyl hardcore mx ported by hjr....there currently on the motor still we traded for the bike and rode it a couple times and pulled it for winter time to polish the motor and paint frame...we are looking to go bigger possibly use my 4 mill setup in this motor and build mine bigger the bike had pro circuits on it and had a ton of bottom power almost like a 250r...only shee i have been on that was easy to wheelie like a 4 stroke TONS of bottom we got the bike on here from indiana rollinrhino....he said it was older kevin herr port work but i dont know what it would dyno if your interested pm me and we will pull the cyl off Matt

it doesn't have a wow factor to make it go over the $2,500 mark...if it was in a line up with stock shee's and a person that didn't know what they was looking for would have a hard time picking it out it has some good things going for it but it needs brought up to date....like plastics,,swap pj's out for pwk or newer ,, swap nerfs out for some cheap full nerfs with heel guards ,,,get some more popular tires maybe and then you set down and detail the bike give it a good polishing then price it around tax season you would be closer to what your asking. $2,500 covers a broad spectrum of stuff...cars,trucks,bikes,atv's its the most common price out there...it could get a 1 owner mint cherry banshee or a dunned out chrome multi owner bike depending on whats done if you spend another $500 or so on it then you would have better out come i think...remember polishing and detailing doesn't cost much at all..mostly elbow grease

it is a great deal on the cub..... i have a set of hjr mx ported stock stroke w/ used pistons and 22 domes....shoot me a offer

got black pc platinums 304 silencers....there on a mx ported 350 with stock carbs...it has a ton of bottom almost like a 250r...wheelie machine great for tight tight trails....if your still looking let me know

i see that,,,looks like one is worse then the other... i have had my setup at the drag track 10 times even won 2 events and its a wheelie machine at +3 ext arm....it has never darted or pulled yet but tomorrow when my swingarm comes in the mail ill have it back on its wheels and ill check because i dont want that....lol my works shocks was 1 inch shorter then the yfz shocks....it raised my bike up and looked goofy until backed the rings off and lowered it

I never checked to be honest ...just make sure it didn't rub or have bad camber ...i had to set the shock rings all the way to the top threads to lower ride hieghts but when i get the wieght off the front it doesn't make any noticeable changes...maybe tows in a little if i had to guess I'll have to check when i get my swingarm in Wednesday and back on what should it do??
