  7. Alright so its 3 am here, Im killing time before I head to work, looking for banshee parts on ebay and came across these bad larrys. How much power do you think these would add with a boost bottle? I like how it doesnt have a air filter to restrict the air flow! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Supercharge...sQ5fAccessories
  8. yea I figured it wouldnt hold up not enough flex thanks guys.
  9. That useto happen to me on a old gs 750 I had. Drain the gas, either rebuild the carbs because thats caused by the needle leaking or shut the petcock off after each run-risky because if you forget then restart it boom, just flush the bottom end out, make sure you fill it with some oil, let the case vent out for a few hours then run it. Ive done it that way with no issues on a few atvs and motorcycles.
  10. Has anyone fixed their plastics with fiberglass? My plastics are pretty cracked up, Im thinking if I fiberglass both sides, prep and paint it would hold up? I know its easier to just get a used set but I'm a full time college student so moneys pretty tight and I'm trying to get it looking decent cheap with stuff I already have in my garage.
  11. Ive done quite a few exhausts with the 2,000 degree stuff at auto parts stores, usually I wirebrush it with a wirewheel, clean it real good with some acetone, put a few coats of the paint on then install it and get the pipes nice and hot. It says your suppose to bake it on, I never have I always let it dry normally, then very carefully reinstall it and never had a issue. I painted the exhaust tips on my daily driver f150 and the paint lasted over a year until I traded it in.
  12. Does anyone know what the thread is on the swingarm pivot bolt? My nut is real bad wont thread on, I bought a new one but i guessed it based off the old nut so when I got it home it didnt fit and I cant get the bolt out to use that.
  13. I grew up in Lowell/Dracut but I moved to Derry.
  14. I painted the heads for my old firebird and a few exhausts with header paint and it held up real nice, The firebird still looked great when I sold it and one of the exhausts was on my old truck, had it on there for around 2 years and when I traded it in it still didnt have and chips or scuffs taken out. I wheeled that truck a few times too and the mud always washed right off it.
  15. If you put too much torque on a bolt it will stretch the bolt past its elastic stage in the steel which will bring it into its yield point so it wont be forgiving as things expand and contract, and worst case the bolt will snap. And that would cost a lot more than the $80.00 or so for a decent torque wrench.
  16. Same thing happened to me, the previous owner never put the lock nut or washer back on, and it backed out when I was riding=no clutch and no moving. So make sure you have that on there because it shouldnt be backing off that fast. Theres the lever where the cable connects on the top of the trans under the carbs, and a little arrow on the block. You take the cable off and turn that screw to get them to line up, then tighten the lock nut back down. The rest of the free play can be adjusted at the perch.
  17. I know here in New Hampshire its around $50.00 per atv, around $75.00 for a sled, any riding off of your own property needs to be registered so even if your buddy has a huge chunk of land and you legally trailer your atv to his place and dont go off his property at all they can still get you for no registration. Theres times in the year your not allowed to ride (mud season, and winter unless the snow is covering the ground enough they can groom it. We arn't required to insure so that saves a little. They're closing down riding areas left and right and the registration fees still keep going up which doesnt make too much sence. I remember a few years ago wanting to just ride on lakes and I was unsure about the law so I called fish and game to see if I needed to register even If I stay on the lake and not go on any trails at all, the said yes because it pays for the maintnence for the trails. I explained to them I wasnt going to be on trails and they dont do any grooming or maintnance to the lake so why should I register. They told me even if I get caught on the lake they would still impound my sled.
  18. I believe thats where the cutter went in and came out to cut the o-ring channel.
  19. I did mine myself, take the plugs out and the carbs off and leave the front mounts on the frame. Its so easy it almost puts itself in. Im sure you know this but take the chain off first too or else it will get caught between the swingarm and the case.
  20. I'd be kind of nervous about buying from them since they couldnt even proof read their website to find they spelled "Which" wrong.
