I didn't say cheapest, I said most affordable meaning best bang for the buck. I could get alba to do it for 500 but that doesn't mean HJ's isnt as good because his is a lower price. If I do it I'll go with HJ. Also if i wanted to have my top end rebuilt would i need to send more than the jugs? I understand they couldn't install everything but they could still bore after they measure the pistons. Am I right? Last question is how much would it cost me to send 2 cylinders to CA from VA. Across the united states haha

Also consider the fact that the banshee is so good because its so old and people know it inside and out. If Yamaha made a new banshee parts wont fit on a new one and people are going to have to start building new parts for them.

I'm looking into getting my banshee ported for trail for a little more low end and am wondering what you guys think is the best and most affordable place to get it done. Also is a good idea to rebuild the top end after a port job to freshen it up because I think i might be needing one. So if you guys had to guess how much would you say it would cost me to send out my cylinders, get em ported, and possibly rebuild the top end?

I finished this mod and i like the result i just hope it doesnt make the bike easier to blow the top end or anything like that. Would a kill switch solve the problem of the throttle sticking or when it sticks is it impossible to stop?
-
You mean where the "brain" is? Also do I remove the unit from the throttle assembly completely or just cut the wire?
-
I want to remove my tors and am just wondering if i have the process down. 1. Take out brain and cut wires. (Do I unplug from where it connects or just cut them anywhere?) 2. Cut wire from where the throttle is. (I've seen pics so I know where it is) 3. Cut 2 wires beneath where you sync carbs and seal all holes air tight. Sound about right to you guys?

I did get new ones and they spin. I'll try the 2x4 trick...hopefully that works.

Thanks I found a picture and ran out to try and get one ride in lol. There on but not on nearly tight enough. Is there a tool to hold the bolt from spinning or am I just supposed to put a bunch of pressure under the tie rod end. I've never put these on or taken them off easily lol. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Which way do the tie rods face? Up or down..or both lol. Can't remember and dont have a manual handy at this moment : /. Trying to get in a few minutes before dark but doubt it'll happen. I'll let you know how I like em once I get them on. Thanks

Give him a deal you'd hope to get if you were buying them. If thats not good enough advice check around ebay or something and find similar pipes in similar shape and see what they go for. If there really rusty i'd say about 100 or so but if some of the rust can be removed maybe a little more. Up to you though.

Thanks...for me suzukicentral.com's forums were weird and now are normal while bansheehq used to be normal and is now weird. Hard to explain but like you said I just need to wait for someone to hook me up with the easy answer of how to fix this. -

For me, instead of all the posts being one under another, theres the original post and then only one post at a time and you have to click on the other ones below the original post. Hard to explain? VERY. Maybe I clicked on something and dont know how to fix it : /. Lol -
Whats going on with this site?

Best way to end it is ignore it and let admin do there job. -
I can also say from experience that the EHS lid is pretty cool. You can either buy the complete lid (pretty pricey) or the kit to mod it yourself for about 50-60. I like it a lot and the owner of them helped me out when I had a question.

I'd be interested in grey most likely if its clean. Let me know whatcha want for them

What color plastics do you have?
-
Can I get your best price on black plastics uncut or possibly race cut. Thanks
-
I'd say get used to just riding before you try jumps. Make sure you have control of the power band so you dont hit it and jack your front end real high on a jump. The basic rule is if your front end is up tap the back brake and if you nose dive tap your throttle.

I saw a post a while back and people said that razr tires are better, but I'm looking for opinions so I'll look into those too. Wheres the best place to buy?
-
I'm looking for a set of tires that will work well in woods with rocks here and there. They need to be tough and the sides have to be tough as well so they dont pop on rocks and such. I hear razr 2's are good and if you guys can confirm this where is a good place to buy them? Thanks

Few questions while I wish I had more money!
shogs replied to shogs's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thanks guys I'll probably get a new clutch cable, works shocks, and get my tie rods on and go from there. -
I have so many questions so I apologize if my questions seem scattered. First of all this is my first banshee and I hear it could be an alba racing banshee or atleast have some alba parts. One way to put how I feel is just that I wish I could prove what I have done to it without paying my local shop $1,000. But anyways I was wondering if anybody knows anyone in VA or WV that does good work because I basically am looking to do a rebuild. I need most if not all of my swing arm bearings/bushings replaced and a chain guard installed. I also found out that my air boots were were leaking so my pistons could have burned up a little. I want to see if I have a port job or stock cylinders because then I wont need to port. (obviously : P). As of now I only have enough money to do little things. For instance I got a nice set of tie rods and ends on the way to straighten up the front end and want to buy some shocks. I was wondering if I got after market shocks like works would I be able to notice a lot without aftermarket arms?. My last question is about my clutch. The pull is very hard and when im rolling my hand gets sore just holding it in. If I replaced the cable would that help or would I have to do something with the clutch itself. I'm only looking for advice so try not to bitch for me not knowing as much as someone thats had a banshee since they came out. Thanks
