  1. As per subject, looking for a set of mint T5's (silencers and pipes) in Canada at a good price. PM me with details. Thanks.
  2. Hi - looking to go riding on Friday. I want to hit the Quebec trails because I hear they are amazing. Where should I go when coming from Ottawa? Thanks.
  3. Hi There, Thanks again for the wiring photos. I'm getting things back in order. It's strange what some guys do to Banshees. I was hoping you might be able to help with with a couple items that I couldn't figure out from the photos? 1) Does the throttle cable run up the kick-start side of the bike? 2) Is the throttle cable supposed to be ti-strapped together with the other wires, etc. that run underneath the gas tank and through the square bracket attached to the frame? 3) Do all wires run overtop of the fuel lines (going to each carb) and the little rubber carb sync tube (used for choke if I'm not mistaken) (I'm going to ditch the tors soon....I really fought with a previous set of carbs though, I haven't yet figured out what it was - they had the TORS removed. So the plan is to get the bike back to stock, running well and then go from there) BTW - I had an amazing ride this past weekend. Here are some photos... http://picasaweb.google.com/dougstackhouse...key=4S4_GeAmUhE Thanks for the help.
  4. update, bought a new compression tester and the compression is fine - 120 cold. My buddies compression tester is no good. Thanks.
  5. Hi guys, I've got an stock '06 SE that someone took the graphics off of, prior to my purchasing it. I ordered the graphics from bikebandit, but they just arrived and are for the LE model. Grrr! Does anyone have any recommendations on the cheapest spot to purchase original decals? Thanks.
  6. I'm alone. That's it, I'm moving to the states.
  7. wow - that bad eh? Really hoping to get out somewhere this weekend.
  8. Hi there - anyone in the Ottawa area on here? I'm looking for new places to ride. My buddies are getting out of ATVing so....
  9. Holy crap man, thank you! Exactly what I needed. Tomorrow I'll be putting all the wires together. My order of parts is being shipped from California tonight, hopefully this week I'll have everything.
  10. bansheesickness mentioned that the parking brake can retard the ignition and have a similar effect. In this case, the wires going to the thumb throttle where cut and then tied together to form a closed loop. The wires going to the parking break where not touched though. I need to find the instructions for a tors removal and run through them to be certain. I had to replace one of the original carb bodies because the previous owner didn't tap the carb correctly for the tors removal idle screw. So....that narrowed it down to 1 original '06 carb and the tors removal, but like you guys are saying, it's a long shot. I'm definetly going to find out what is up with those carbs.
  11. ok, thanks - never fails with those damn cords. I think the camera companies make a fortune off of lost cables.
  12. Bump - anyone? Trying to get my 'shee together.
  13. Hi - trying to take a bike I picked up back to stock. Does anyone have any close-up photos of where the wiring/throttle cable are supposed to run? The area I'm trying to figure out is around the motor heads and down towards the carbs. It's pretty abvious where they run along side of the air box. Thanks!
  14. ROFL - no doubt. Do you think an incorrectly installed TORS removal kit would have done this?
  15. Hi Guys - just picked up a stock set of carbs and installed them. Bike runs excellent. No trouble starting. The terrible bog is gone. I'm not sure if it was an incorrectly installed TORS removal kit or something with the carbs, but it's fine now. Thank you for your help. I'm not sure the compression tester is working properly because the bike starts no problem and hauls without any trouble.
  16. Did a compression test. No carbs on, reed cages removed, etc. Motor not warmed up and I got somewhere around 90 aside - definetly low, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes when warmed up, etc.
  17. Update: I just spoke with the original owner of the bike and he told me that this is how the bike performed since he purchased. E.g., this is something that has been a problem - even before the TORS removal, etc. At this point, I bought another set of stock carbs I'm going to try.....I'm beginning to think these carbs have issues, as I mentioned up above.
  18. Right on - thank you for the input. I believe my main jet is fine at 200 because when I'm going through the gears and giving it throttle it runs fine. So, I'll lean out the needle a notch and work with the air screw to see where that takes me. Appreciate the all the help. BTW: changed fuel to yamaha lube 32:1, made no difference. Also, took carbs off and inspected reed cages. Everything looks fine in there too. Lot's of paint that is peeling from inside the reed "chamber" leading to the pistons though. I thought this was a little weird, but must be factory as I can't imagine someone painted this. Did find one weird thing when doing a very detailed analysis of the carbs though. In one, where the fuel valve seats (the part attached to the floats), I found that the casting or body of the carb was very jagged and was not a perfect circle like the other. It was almost as though it wasn't formed properly. http://www.stackhousesolutions.com/img_4115.jpg (photo - poor quality, it's difficult to shoot that close, but this will give the idea) The other question I had was is it possible that an incorrect installation of the tors removal kit could cause this accessive fuel problem? (I'm thinking not likely, but I didn't install the kit, so I'm not sure....) Something else I thought of - is it possible the spark plug wires are switched and therefor throwing off the timing or something? Could you please tell me which cable is supposed to go to which side of the motor or if it even matters. Next photo being uploaded is me pulling out my hair.
  19. Is it not fair to think that the factory settings will ensure the bike runs well? Not necessarily great, but at least well? 40:1 is a lot leaner than 24:1, so I had expected the bike to not have a problem with rich fuel. I'll adjust the air screw again, do you think it could be causing the problem of bog/richness? Thanks.
  20. That's exactly how I feel.... This is insane. Should be very straightforward, factory settings, stock bike, I've never had this much trouble before. Thanks for your help.
  21. Not sure exactly, but the original tires are still on the bike and it's overall condition is very good which leads me to believe the hours are relatively low for an '06. Just pulled the arresters and the don't look bad. There is some of the silencer packing that has come loose, but nothing to speak of.
  22. Well, I've run different Banshee's on different oils. The shell full synthetic seemed to work really well. After I thought through everything I had done to the carbs, I had realized that I installed the brackets (that hold the throttle cable) on top of the slides incorrectly. (they where backwards, thus blocking a hole that is required) I switched this around, but the bike isn't running any differently. (It did initially run well because I had installed new br8 plugs, but shortly thereafter went back to the bog) Yesterday, in 10 short runs up and down the road the bike burned through about 9 litres of gas! It's really strange because it seemed to work well when going through the gears, but at an idle I can see now it's spewing some fuel. I found out that it ran out of gas because it was revving up - that's when I checked the fuel line going to the carbs and nothing was coming out - I was pretty shocked. At this point I'm running out of things to check. To the best of my knowledge everything is stock, clean, etc. Any ideas/thoughts are really appreciated.
  23. This would explain a lot. Bike is running a wee bit rich. Thank you.
