  1. Well the 700 is definantly torquey, they wheelie pretty easy, you have to ride in an aggresive posture to really thrash it. You don't have to rev them out , they are strong right off idle, and are fast as hell bone stock. As for hanging with the 450s, the raptor has a different stance and feel, for strait line stuff, you would hang maybe win, but in the trails of any tight stuff you could hang but you'd be RIDING the 700 to hang. They feel a little tall in comparison to my "shee and I personally don't like the narrow feel, but for a stock bike, they are pretty F'n badass. Oh , there is comparison to the 660, the 700 flat smokes it in all areas. I'm a diehard 2 stroker, but if I bought my wife a quad that I might ride every one in a while, it would be a 700. Plus it's a yamaha!!! They don't really have any problems, you may want to put a +2 swinger on it if you don't like wheelies. Some +2s on the front help tame it as well.
  2. You coming to Texas anytime soon, I would trade ya a piped(FMF FATTIES) stock 2005 with K&N pods and Razrs in new condition.
  3. Chill 06', dang...so serious......
  4. Just having fun bro,we're all friends here, but there is nothing better than ruffling some feathers. But I have a sweet MX/trail "shee, and a 421 full drag "shee and a stock piped shee, so where ever you wanna go, dunes, trails, streets, bring it !!!! The bike in my sig is my MX bike, don't think that's my ace, it's just my low budget bike!!! The dune bike is ridiculous, I'll be at Little Sahara in a month or so, putting some things back together it now. Iv'e been beat by some and I've beaten some, but I always shake hands when it's over.
  5. Like I said...2005 ,trade me . I need a bike for the MX tracks. Got three "shees!!LOL PM if interested, Post a pic of your bike
  6. Yea, running the bowls dry on a hill climb is death for sure. Nothing worse than blasting 2/3 of the way up a killer hill and bogging out.........AYE!!!! Street and trails are one thing, but hit the dunes and your 'Shee better be running right all the way to the top, otherwise it'll be a looooooong ride to the hospital, or a loooong walk back (or tow ). I'd challenge anyone who rides streets and trails to come down to Little Sahara in the summer or Glamis on Thanksgiving, line 'em up with me, your 80hp would look like 25hp in the sand!!!LOL
  7. Let us know how "shee runs when you get her built!!!!
  8. Check it,I am breaking down to the basics.... It 's like braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAppppppppp And a colored power band is like this, lets use a green one, those are badass bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAApppppppppppp
  9. Listen, it is totally possible to get 70 hp or more with 26s, but the question I ask is why, at least dump some 33s on it,with the $$$ spend on the port and prep it takes to pull that much power out of the engine, why not spring for some carbs??? with the mods he mentioned and the way he talked in his post, I say bullshit, he sounds like a typical guy talking shit. But....I've been smoked on the 421 by some guys I thought were talking shit too....but whatever, 68hp 70 hp 75 hp, ride it right and it don't matter!!!
  10. I have an 2005 shee that needs nothing. You should trade me strait and go camping.
  11. +1 jet kits..haha you mean a bunch of jets and two needles!!!
  12. EVERYONE!!! LOL go to the sales forum
  13. Trash the "boost bottle" , actually hurts performance and your intake boots, with $700 I would find some pipes off this site for around $300, get some Pods $50, dial in the carbs, so you've spent about $350 to $400 and add a tooth on the front...$12, maybe some VF3s,I just got better reeds,VF3s not worth the money to me, some people swear by them, but you should smoke him. It's a KFX for gods sake. Save the rest for the upcoming port, carbs, Noss head, etc..............
  14. Yeah, Locos on the money.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ As for the carbs, The 33mm pwks are tried and true. I say it's better to save up and buy quality than to rush and buy cheap stuff, if you have to have the carbs now, 30s are 30s, it is what it is. Better than stock, yea, but with the port, I would say a little restrictive. And as for the port job itself, 70% trails, get an MX port or recreational port, has good low-mid-and top. My MX port is awesome for trail riding and blasting the straits. Pulls hard all the way thru. An aggresive port tends to be more on and off, like a light switch, like braaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP. You know......My dune quad is a 421 cubby and it is like that, either idle or WOT, no in between, which I love for dragging. I would save $$ , do the port, get 33s, PT mids or any good mid pipe for the trails and track, Noss head, Timing Plate, and yea, get bigger intakes, even with the 30s. It always best to do it all at once. But back to your questions, the 30s would be fine, get the correct intakes, and the shaved head and all, but if ya take your time and do it right, you'll be alot faster and more reliable in the end. Good luck bro......
  15. Find some used paddles cheap, it sucks in the sand with non-paddles. I went to little Sahara with my Razrs and my shee pulled like a 50cc 4 stroke. I bought a set of worn ass paddles from a dude there and WOW, hooked up like a chain and sprocket, paddles in the sand is like the best hookup ever, kinda like on the street but a little scarier!!!
  16. Yep, shocks were like my 50th mod and by far the best. I ride trails and dunes and always fought my 'Shee at high speeds, now, I cruise over the rough stuff wide open, and jumping is no prob, my frame used to hit with the stockers, now a little air sound and I'm hooked up and rolling. front shocks should be top priority, after pipes and pods of course!!!
  17. Let him put an airbox on, that way he will be sure to not suck dirt and dust when we all fly by!!!!LOL JK, MX racers don't use airboxes, GNCC racers use them due to the wet and muddy conditions, GP racers use a modified airbox due to rules. If you want to get the most power, run naked carbs....if you want the most power and you like to ride for more than 10 minutes, get Unis or K&Ns, the airbox will never make the power that pods do, that is a simple fact. I run both setups depending on riding conditions. With the airbox on, no lid a K&N with outerwear I run 2 main jet sizes down, with K&N pods I go up 2 sizes. This is from doing extensive plug chops with both. The point is , with pods going up in mains means I am sucking more air, going down on the mains with the box means less air. Good luck!!!
  18. Simple, more air=more power pods=more air Airbox=less air You mentioned Unis, try K&N , much better flow than Unis.
  19. This is the best site I've found.... http://www.txtracks.com/Dirt-Bike-ATV-Trails-Map.cfm
  20. Trash the coolant bottle, route your hoses down the front of the 'Shee. Ran with out mine for years, as do most poeple on this board I assume. My .02.
  21. For general MX track stuff, I would play with it some, but try one tooth down on the front, if that's too much go a tooth or two more on the rear. It's more of what works for you, but generally stock would be a touch too high geared for me. And for sure get a -2 swinger, makes a world of difference in handling and hooking up.
  22. Ya, for sure. Don't worry, I ride trails with K&N Pods and as long as you don't blast water, the outerwears work well. Ran e'm since I had my first "shee back in 1994, never had a problem. Riding MX you should be fine. Some people like the Uni pods for dusty stuff. I still prefer the K&Ns', like I said. My 2005 is on it's first bore and I ride 3x amonth in the sand and trails, crossing creeks and stuff, (very slowly!!) and still have 145psi on both sides. Ya, K&Ns with outerwears, well spent $$. :ninja:
  23. Dude, lose the airbox, save weight, get the clamp ons', gain power.
  24. I'll do $175 shipped right now!!! Still available??? PM me
  25. Shitty Hondas!!!! OMG, I know you didn't!!!!!
