i dont think thats true, they are small bore pipes. yes porting would help but the thing doesnt even have 10hrs on it. i dont have money to burn, i will do all that stuff when it needs a new topend or blows a cyl. i just think my paddles are a little tall but i need floatation in the sand so down gearing should help. i will know after this weekend. :biggrin:

what the hell? thats the stupidest thing ive heard. i ran my bike stock with 7 paddle extremes. had no problem pulling them. i could wheelie too. what are you wanting to do with your quad? dune or drag or both or what???

what he said...i try and stay away from big weekends in glamis. they give tickets for anything. even on off weekends there is still fair amount of people. way too many sand cars with "pancho" driving flying a mexican flag on their whip. go to olds if you want to drag, or go far out to dune. i like both its kinda nice going out into the dunes just carry a gps. most the crowds hang at olds.

the bikes are still close in power though, ill look for you when im at the hill. i was at glamis and i was smoking all the 4 strokes except for some guy on a white raptor that thing was fast as shit.

i ran a 27.5, it would start first kick cold with no choke then after it was warm it didnt want to idle or start. messed around with the air screws pulling my hair out. so i put the stockers back in at 2 turns out. runs ways better...moral of the story is try the stockers first (25) then move up the next size (27.5) if the stockers dont work,

i think the itp sandstars are junk, for the money you save its not worth it to me. i got my 7 paddle extremes brand new with douglas rims for $250. and the sandstars are what 150? the fronts are ok. but the paddles are just bleah.

alright yeah my quad isnt hard too find, not too many are stock with shearers. everyone asks me what pipes i have and i tell them and they have a blank look on their face. haha yeah ill run you if i can pry my girlfriend off it, shes riding that and ill be on my 06 crf 450. we are going for new years wed 31st-sat 3rd. havent been out there in awhile. does everyone still race at comp hill? i guess thats kind of a dumb question...but is that where you will be mostly and what color banshee you got?

thanks for all the replies. im at 165lbs so ill try going down 1 tooth in the front, im heading to dumont new years and see how that does. those dunes are steeper than a mo-fo.

i pretty sure my jetting is spot on. its just that my pipes are for mostly top end. it doesnt bog in any gear just 6th.

I tried searching and wasnt finding what i was looking for so maybe someone can help...my bike and mods are down below. i currently have stock gearing. i ride mostly glamis and occasional dumont. and my problem is when launching at olds 1st gear is too low and 2nd gear is too high. also went to the sand drags to open it up and use all the gears and 6th was useless, it bogged. so what do you guys recommend? A) dont be a pussy launch 2nd and dont use 6th. go up on the rear C) go up on the front. i was totaly kidding about option A. hahaha but seriously i wanna know what you guys think and how many teeth thanks.

it starts up fine and idles perfect when cold. when i go for a ride and its all warmed up, when i shut it off i have to give it throttle to re-start. i tried adjusting the air / fuel screws with no change 1 1/2 turns out, died if i went either way with the screw. any sugestions. the pilot jet is 27.5. motor is bones stock just k&n pods with outterwears and shearers pipes and silencers. main jet is 320.

what brand of twist trottle do you run? i had a streamline and it sucked. it was half turn to wide open and i had to use my whole arm to turn it. hahah it was retarded so i ditched that stupid ass thing.

IM KINDA STUCK. IM NOT SURE WHICH WAY TO GO. I WANT KIND OF NARROW BARS. I ALSO WANT NEW THUMB THROTTLE AND LEVERS. IM WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE IS RUNNING. I MOSTLY RIDE GLAMIS. 80% DRAG AND 20% DUNE. THE ONLY DUNING I DO IS GETING TO OLDS FROM CAMP. HAHA. I TOOK THE STOCK RENTHALS OFF MY CRF450 BUT THEY ARE A LITTLE WIDE FOR MY LIKING AND I CANT CUT THEM DOWN DUE TO THE STOCK THUMB THROTTLE BEING TO BIG.
