  1. Also, advancing timing will promote...not prevent detonation. Sounds like bobman13 has no clue what he's talkin about.
  2. If you're going to do mainly hillshoot and drags I'd recommend the 22x11x8 8pdl's. The 10" wheels are better for all around duneing. The 8" are lighter and allow the tires to hook better off the line and swell more in the top end. The 22's will swell more for more wheelspeed when hillshooting or dragging.
  3. They cause less piston side loading, so your pistons and top end will last longer. You will have to run 795 wiseco pistons on a small bore and blaster pistons on a big bore cylinder. If ur gonna spend the $$ on a new crank, I'd recommend the 4mm stroker +5mm long rod. You'll have to run a spacer plate or have it ported for the stroke and run cut domes. The porting and domes is the best setup for a stroker.
  4. Dude, you're gonna get me in trouble. That's my wife on here that you quoted. lol That $1000 was all parts...bent axle, twisted swinger, bent bars, bent spindles, bent grab bar, ect. ect. The $1000 didn't include some of the messed up parts I didn't replace...plastics, bent rim, scuffed up controls, scuffed up seat. I guess when I break shit, I break it all the way lol. :yelrotflmao:
  5. My wife always cringes when I say "just one more time" lol. :yelrotflmao:
  6. I'd say start at 300 mains, 30 pilot , needle in the 3rd groove and air screw out 1.5 then work your way down from there. This should put u a hair on the rich side so do some plug chops (do a search for details)
  7. rockymountainatv.com has them for $70 a pair.
  8. Talked to Josh on PS yesterday and they are planning to have a race shortly after Easter. I'm gonna try to be there.
  9. I've heard the T-6's dont work with porting, but other than that I think they're just trying to sell you an other set of $600 pipes...lol
  10. What is your pre-mix ratio. You mentioned break in oil??? You shouldn't mix it any different than normal for break in, It needs to be re-jetted for different mix ratios. If your mix is rich it will make your bike run lean and can diesel.
  11. I agree, if it aint broke don't fix it. That compression seems a bit high for 91 though.
  12. I guess I should have explained myself better, sorry.
  13. So....Only colorado and wyoming people are invited??? lol
  14. As for your crank question, yes you will have to run different pistons...Wiseco 795's or blaster pistons. Since ur set on no porting go with the 795's and a spacer plate. The Shearer pipes are the most radical out of the choices you listed, they come on real hard in the top end. A lot of people on here swear by the PT high revs, but I personally have no exp. with them. As far as carbs go, I wouldn't go any larger than the 28's if bottom end is a real concern and no larger than 30's on a non ported motor. An other option is to have your stockers taper bored to 27.mm, not quite as good performance as 28's but a lot cheaper alternative. Other than that, you could convert to alky and bump your timing and compression more, looks like your almost to the limit with bolt-ons though.
  15. You could set it up on a mill and use a dial indicator to plot several points along the crown of the piston, just a thought.
  16. The cylinder bore is where the piston goes, you only want to have your cylinders bored if it's necissary to clean them up for a rebuild. Port and polish is completely different, This is where metal is removed from the ports (holes in the cylinder that the intake and exhaust charges flow in and out of) to increase performance. The polishing should only be done to the exhaust side.
  17. Love my +2 for the trails, I'm stepping up to a +4 though because I mostly ride the dunes.
  18. You need to have your compression tested on that cylinder. An other thing you may want to look at is your reeds...cracked pedal or one not sealing.
  19. Low speed jetting (air screw adj, or dirty pilot), carb sync, fouled plug or cylinder compression...just a few things to start with.
  20. You can do a plug chop this same way for your mid and low range just hold at half throttle for mid and 1/4 throttle for low range. This is the best way by far to check your jetting.
  21. I'd talk to Bigred350x, TheShee or Rippen...those guys frequent walden and KP.
  22. What happened to your old roller??
  23. Sound good to me, I can already tell that ur gonna cost me a lot of money as a ridin buddy.
  24. I like my ported stockers just fine, price was right...lol. I would like to try some vf's someday, but they're just not in the budget for now. I think the issue that's been discussed so much right now all comes down to individual engine setup. I personally don't think a seat of the pants power increase and a little throttle response is worth $230 to me right now, I have many other mods currently taking precedence over reeds. All comes down to preference, are a couple of horses worth the price???
  25. There are a lot of people who would rather not say where they are from, it gives you the option of putting your location in your sig.
