  1. CPI or Shearers for hill shooting and drags, imo
  2. Can't tell ya what gears for sure, but the final ratio of the rz box is higher and the ratios of all of the gears are different. I would think it would be more suited to street riding. You'll probably have to gear down some.
  3. Nitro, what parts are you lookin for, put up a list in the wanted section on here or surf the for sale stuff. You can get good used stuff at a fraction the price of new. just my .02
  4. Those dyno sheets are interesting, I was suprised to see that the dual carb set up made more peak torque than the single. I can see where the single would have a nicer power-band for woods. It would be real cool to do the same set of tests with a single pipe and see what #'s ya get.
  5. Sorry, no pics. It's all in the sig.
  6. I wouldn't recommend cutting the bridge out of the center, it supports the pedals so they don't break as easy under crankcase preasure. just my .02
  7. I saw a thread on here a while back about the vf3's actually loosing power in the top end on the dyno, I run boyesen pro's on ported stock cages and love them. Don't have personal experience with the TDR's, but LC performance builds some fast stuff and he swears by the TDR's in ported stock cages. He says they make better power than the vf's and are more reliable.
  8. I know that people have switch from j arms to a arms but I don't know of anyone that has gone the other way, j arms are weaker, I would try to find a different approach to installing your sway-bar.
  9. Agreed!!! As for power increases I would say a couple of hp at the most, more torque in the bottom end. I would honestly recommend saving your $$ and spending it on a timing advance plate instead, more bang for your buck.
  10. Your builder should be able to get you real close on your jetting if he knows what he's doing, Also make sure before you go buying a stroker crank that your portwork can be altered for it. They have to adjust the floors of the ports -2mm for a 4mil stroker and if extensive porting has been done your durations will be too long once ported for the new stroke. I would recommend saving the money on milling your stocker and getting a billet head later. You will see more bang for your buck from advanced timing as opposed to milling your head.
  11. The puller and the impact are for removing the flywheel, the timing plate is behind it. You can sometimes get the flywheel off without an impact, but the puller is a must!!! DO NOT TRY A JAW PULLER ON IT!!! Your local bike shop may be able to hook you up getting the flywheel off, no special tools are needed to put it back together. You should be safe with 4 deg. with stock heads on 93 octane.
  12. Don't know how far he plans on tearin into it to have the head milled???? lol. I'll agree with most of this advice except the over bore, avoid boring as much as possible and make those cylinders last!
  13. Then I would probably go .030 to .040 at the most, You should still be safe on premium pump fuel at that elevation. What's happenin Matt?
  14. Octane requirements depend on more variables than just your timing. What else is done to the motor? Also, you will need a flywheel puller tool, Rocky mountain sells them for @ $15. It is easier to remove if you have access to an impact gun.
  15. It will give you a little bit of bottom end punch. What elevation do you ride, and how much are you having milled off??? It increases your compression and therefore your octane requirements.
  16. Was trying to say thanks to all for the input on his work, his business management wasn't what I was askin about. You guys are the shit, No one on planet sand even bothers to reply.
  17. Thanks fella's, I actually found an other bike that I bought. Bone stock 03 black/red hardly ridden. It's for my wife, so she probably wouldn't appreciate the ported one anyhow. Thanks for all of your responses. Brandon
  18. Look up verdepowersports.com they have some cool looking stuff, I think Alba still carries some too. I would post this in the appearance forum though, the guys that frequent that might have a better idea. If u think u might be interested in some custom paint PM theshee he does some sick work at an awesome price.
  19. Was looking at a bike that already has some of his cylinders on it, was just curious about the quality of his work??? Nobody has even responded to my ?'s on PS Thanks Brandon
  20. Milled OEM Banshee head for sale. It has been milled .040" and comes with a new head gasket. This head made 145psi static compression on fresh stock port 350 at 5000' elevation (@19cc equivelent) I'm askin $40 obo. plus ride, would make a great mod for a sleeper!!! PM me if ur interested
  21. I was just curious if anyone has had any or knows of anyone with CP Customs portwork. I believe they are out of Louisiana. Reason I ask is that I'm lookin at an other shee that has a CP aggressive dune port and I don't want to buy junk. The guy claims it is very well mannered and will pull 6th gear up the backside of Sand Mountain, UT. What do you guys think??? Thx, Brandon
  22. I would if I could. I'm about as computer illiterate as it gets, lol.
  23. Guys, it's very feasable to turbo a carbureted 2-stroke and keep it reliable. I have a turboed (carbureted) sled that has been in my family since 94. It has been ridden hard as hell and has only burned down once, only because we were in BFE and tried to top it off with premium instead of avgas. Sure, it will be a lot of trial and error to get it all set up. As for the supercharger, I would say hell no. Too much parasitic loss and way too much work to get it installed let alone tuning it.
  24. Tig is what the builder doing mine uses to do them. Don't know if he uses rod or not though. He does weld it all the way around and burns it deep, I think there is some teqnique to it so you don't pull it out of phase with the heat, not sure.
