  1. Cool thanks and one more thing anyone on here from souther michigan southbend indiana area??Im looking for more people to ride with in my area??Thanks or the help to..
  2. Ok so i know how to do this plug chop thing but am uncertain as to what smoke ring i am looking for is this gonna be on the side of the white elctrode piece??Just not sure where the ring will appear thats all.Any one have any pics with a close up shot??
  3. Hellos i recently put boyesen stage 2 carbon fiber reeds on my 97 banshee thats bored over .02 with wiseco pistons, has k&n filter closed lid boost bottle fmf fattys with resonators, and stock carbs.I am running stock 260 mains and when i did a plug check over the weekend the plugs looked a lil on the dark brown with specsof black mixed in and you can see a bit of oil.In my opinion from what ive read on here im running rich.....correct me if im wrong. The instructions that came with the reeds say that they tend to make our engines run lean on the pilot, and richer on the mains.I ordered some 240s to try this weekend.Do you think that this is to small for what i am runing??Any comments appreciated.Pilots are 27.5s
  4. Thanks for the reply,i dont wanna piss anyone off in here by posting a new thread on something that has been covered alot on here i see.I found the numbers on the main pilot jets thanks. Is the stock pilots on a 97 banshee 240??I dont go in mud hrdly ever so i will give that a shot man.The carbs are stock,im ot sure where indiana sits as far as level man lolI know i ride between 50 and 90 degree weather tho.So 1 and a half ill start at.The boost bottle that is on it wont effect the jetting setting or size will it??Thanks and yes this is actually my second money pit as i have a turb integra im working on as well.Almost done with her just need to install a breather tank and get rid of the pcv system.
  5. IM new to this whole 4 wheeler thing lol, dont get me wrong i know a thing or two about engines.Im redoing this banshee i got for a steal, carbs had hella sand in em.I dont now how it even started lol.Needless to say i was wondering about what jetting i need to use.And how do you tell what size your pilot jetting is??the mains are marked right??If so it says i have 240s..When i disassemled these carbs which are stock mikunis the air needles were turned all the way in??Maybe this was because of the hella sand in them i dunno??It has been bored over .02 has a boost bottle k&n filter closed lid fmf fatt boys no silencers.I run 93 octaane out here and am in indiana. The guy at the cycle shop is saying that the jets should have been out about one and a half turns from light seat???I dunno.Oh also im putting some boyesen pro seriesreeds in because the stock ones are shot.Any suggestions or thoughts much appreciated.
  6. will post one when i get home,i know manufactuers only sell carbs in even mm sizes but like i said im a machinsist don this stuff for daily its my job lol,and well if they r bored over they ,did a damn good job on the finish.Theres is a miss match owever in the 28 mm part that meets up with the slides that imma clean up and polish the hell outta. Thanks man
  7. \ Ok you say the stock diameter is 26 mm??I just checked the size on these mikunis,im getting 28 mm and they dont look like theyve been bored out yet either,Im puzzled now.So does this mean i can bore them over to 30 mm??I know that you have to leave a lil bit of material for the slides to shut off when its idling. Thanks again man,and ill probaly stick with these mikunis for now tho, moneys tight christmas shopping killed me.
  8. Ive done some research on here ,oh im new to the 4 wheeler thing but not with engines.Any ways im a cnc machinist and have seen on here alota people are boring out there carbs to a bigger size.Ive seen people post on here that its a good top end mod,but yet have seen other people say that if you bore them out that you will run your bowls dry ,and need an inline fuel pump if this is done.I do all my engine work here at my shop in elkhart indiana.Ive got these carbs taken apart, and am deabating doing this, and am looking for a lil guidance whether i should do it ??Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. The bike has wiseco bored over .020 pistons boost bottle ported and polished head shaved down .010 carbon kevlar clutch, lots of other odds and ins,but i want more power yet.But hey who doesnt. If any one else is wanting to have there carbs ported polised or ne other mods, let me know we have a full line of cnc machines lathes, and edms here, and have pics and refrences to prove. Thanks for any help teddy.
