  1. you guys think im gonna run hotter with braided stainless rad hoses? or cooler has the been proven? if i should be sticking with stockers. whats the best method to recondition them? i ALMOST dropped them in the trusty varsol bath tonight (too many joints later) before i remembered varsol loves to eat rubber.
  2. yea dude get it done! take some pics of the mockup and be sure to put my old headlights on haha
  3. i especially find this discouraging at times.
  4. i remember wheatchex, shit i remember NUYK's purple monster. what a shee. i use the search option alot, we should get to work on the wiki page. perhaps lay out the obvious things in link form like pipe comparisons. another thing i have thought about trying to start is just a post like a table of contents with links to some threads covering alot of the frequent topics. perhaps have it stickied and updated by a mod? as far as being pointed in a direction, the guys are good at reccomending ideal setups and i have no reason to argue with dajogejr. he replys to the point with the best idea for the riders post. good man
  5. yea dude.... i onyl read one post. first welcome. second, im glad youd like to learn bout your machine, the banshee is easy to troubleshoot and work on (thats what hapens with a 30 year old design haha) fuck your mechanic. if you want, have him read this post.
  6. i say huck the lights. just ducttape some maglights to your bean.
  7. no problem man haha i read the post regardless, good info
  8. right on thats they way shes done. you can even wipe a small amount of oil on the sealing lips to be sure it seals properly. ben nailed the replacement procedure.
  9. good to know, i was about to take my caliper apart for pc. does this happen often?? thanks jon for the word on the fact LT had the same caliper. im happy to have a fastenal outlet in my town, i never knew what they did tho. (fasten all apparently) would they be the best spot to have my hardware matched and replaced?
  10. like everyone else said, being mechanical and having a sold understanding in tooling equipment and fixing things/how it works. if you brought those to me, i wouldnt want to bore them and press a new cylinder in. bore them you might get that far but the pressure a new sleeve is putting on the aluminum as it is pressein is crazy, with alot of fluid film, they might, go in. like was suggested by yourself. if you can fix them without a resleeve, thats your best bet because otherwise they could end up total junk sitting on NYUK's display motor.
  11. i just cut mine and trying to get around to welding it back togeather. ill be using the stock carrier for now untill i got the quid for a compleat axle, roundhouse carrier and swingarm. weelies will be alot easier to snap up personally i dont like doing wheelies on my shee, the powerband makes it too scary and difficult to control (never learned wheelies with the brakes, go figure i could walk my ex for miles.... stupid 4 stroke) in the trails your going to love it as far as manurverability goes in the twisties. alot of flattrack guys shorten it up as well for maximum hookup. i have even seen as much as -3.5 which looked retarded dumb and skyprone.
  12. i must say, it covers well. does not run badly. (i think its a smidgen cold out so its not 100% on great, youd probley get a real good coating on later in the year or +15c outside. its currently about +5c here. it looks black but in the sunlight i think i might be able to see through it, i took a pic and it has that asphalt tar like color to it. but all in all im satisfied.
  13. i had always thought the rockets were a good pipe? whats the deal? arent they comparable to big bore CPI's?
  14. i would never put ricer parts on my banshee. eibach. imagine. id have to cover that shit with a shockwears if your bottoming out, your outta wack on the adjustment. i can give you the procedures right outta the clymer if you like.
  15. i cant wait to start bothering you folks with questions on setting up a front end haha, before i tore mine down the inside tire almost went 30 degrees farther in than te outside. major carving. major headache. major. problem. death was coming. i noticed my stocker ball joints to all be greasy and bad looking under the rubbers. fullflight!
  16. your a smart cookie i take it your warming up the ol bitch too right?
  17. so i picked up a couple cans of that goopy shit for coating inner fenders and truck beds tonight, im gonna apply it to my frame tomorrow because in all honesty. trail banshees dont need pretty paintjobs. they need functional coatings. ill post up some pics tomorrow, but even still it wont be 100% covered. im waiting on buddy to bring his goddamn welder over to me so i can fab the front upper mount! the a-arms ihave coming are black also so i think my chassis should be lookin tightous. i will PC alot of the smaller parts gloss black, it appears as if im heading in the direction of black bitch.
  18. i wasnt tryin to put down the dg's or anyone that runs them but goddamn there heavy. plus when you have your foot go through a net certain biases come to mind immediatly. dinner those albas are nice i like how there smaller than most. propegs are also a damn fine investment if your worried about the support and strength as far as bolting them to the peg goes, because they are the peg!
  19. thats what im sayin! thanks dajogejr.
  20. aha my thoughts exactly.
  21. i personally like the AC racing ones. solid company. are you from canada by chance? because if so look up MOTOVAN, if i can remember they had some nice budget bars. mostly all the nerfs are the same. you can buy them shitty DG ones if you want hahaha
  22. yea yea i hear ya.... stupid liabilities
  23. i love recruiting! -mixing gas becomes second nature. -your friends are downplaying 2 strokes because they know your going to be faster -you DO have to buy 2 of everything but thats just means your twice as fast -DONT buy a boost bottle. its a proven boost of bullshit. -same goes for reed spacers, unless you absolutley NEED them for aftermarket carb bowls to clear the clutch arm -all years of parts fit! -RollinRhino is married for a reason, he got his wife a banshee before him! Rule # 1, keep the women happy -routine maitenance is easy as pie, anyone on the site has and knows of a procedure for everything you could ever want to know, from lube and oil, to tools for checking and measuring wear. -you absolutly MUST buy a Clymers manual and read it cover to cover. Your learning curve of a mechanic will thank you as this book has been revised about 8 times now and shows exploded views and maitenance/overhaul procedures for every part on the bike including maximum wear tolerances. (solid information indeed) $40 on fleabay lastly, fuck thumpers. My lungs smoke and so does my ride. There is a wealth of information on the site for you to learn from. Use the search feature, make some friends and enjoy your time here!
