  1. Did that for years...then one trip my shoes got wet and I used my work boots. My feet could not have been happier.
  2. I heard you sent you motor back.....Has Harry called you yet? Is he doing anything to help you out? Tell him Nickisgod and windycityjohn said Hi. Remind him that even though you found pages of rants about this size motor....."They never have issues"
  3. Go here. She did our custom group flags that say "Windy City Dune Assault Squad" with a picture of a quad in the middle and they turned out great. NOTE: Once you look at all the options you have for flag designs...you'll give up on that AMA idea. How about an NRA flag instead! http://www.dwflags.com/store/index.php
  4. float is stuck or fuel needle isn't seating.
  5. We have one preety close to that in our group....@80 HP. We haven't had it on our dyno yet, but that would be my guess. The toomeys and the 33's will be holding it back.
  6. Well most people who follow my rants will be surprised I didn't start with throwing Trinity under the bus. I thought for once I'd wait till you said trinity sold it before I just went off. Trinity is making a real habit of shipping domes that don't work well on these 4 mil cheetahs. They blow O-rings like it's going out of style, or suffer some other form of lethal detonation. Check that squish. Mine was alot tighter than yours.... I had .030 on one side and .029 on the other and 200 psi !!! But the bigger deal was that the SHAPE was tighter at the piston crown than at the sides. this was putting all the force at the piston edges, rings and O-rings. I'm usually the one who does the hard core rant and vents about this crap, but just for kicks I'd like to have you first look in the Product Reviews section in a post titled "Trinity Blows". ( "Larry's Shee" was kind enough to put a link in the above post.) Read all the pages first to last. Then PM "nickisgod" and "mailman" and see what they say. Once you do that reading/research, come on back and give us your thoughts on the things you've heard. I'd like to hear the thoughts of someone who's eye's have been opened to the sickening reality of the Trinity experience. I'm getting tired of prying peoples eyes open and forcing them to realize they got screwed. ( I hate being the messenger....people always want to kill the messenger. I'd like to be the one who helps you fix the problem...not the guy who told you that you had one. LOL) For what is worth...your plug didn't destroy your motor.......your motor destroyed your plug! Then it commited suicide with the plug pieces. P.S. - Your problem is....your bike has V.D. !!! Once you figure out what that means, you'll be headed out of the darkness and into the light. ( Note: The answer is in the research )
  7. Need more info. Was this the first ride ever on this motor, or just the first ride this season? Who built the motor ? Carb sizes, jetting, fuel, compression, timing?
  8. Yes the Snipers were research tested on the 4mill cubs. But they make a great point of saying that the software program they use to design a pipe, as well as the shape of the pipe sections make it possible for them to make a pipe for ANY motor by simply adjusting the section sizes of the pipe pieces before they weld them together. (This is one of the reasons that the stinger pipes leading from the head pipe to the silencer are fully adjustable. ) Otherwise you would have to custom cut and shape every stinger tube. Plus it allows for variations from bike to bike. All you have to do is let them know your motor specs and they can custom tailor a pipe for your motor. They just made a set of In-Frames for a friends 4mil DM !!
  9. Here we go....... Really? What difference would it make if 2 carbs are ALWAYS better than one? NOTE: The only correct carb to ever run is 2-28's right? Oh and if your not running Pro Ciruits, then you have the wrong pipes too.......
  10. Sounds like the problem might be in the "We". First try running through all the set-up adjustments in the clymers manual. ( sync'd carbs, air screw adjustments, set the idle, check float heights and that the floats float, atc.) If that doesn't do it....try a different "We". It's always tuff to know if that other guy your counting on to walk you though things for the first time, even really knows what he's doing. I have a friend who let 3 different guys try to help him put a clutch in. (Not all at once, all three failed seperately) So he ended up taking it to a shop.
  11. It would help if we could see your bike.....
  12. IT DOES! It gives 15 HP to the guy who took it OFF and sold it to you. As for what you can buy to make your banshee faster.....well you could try buying MY banshee.
  13. Beuler? Beuler? Beuler?...............Hello?.....Is this thing on? Is everybody getting bikes together? I hope so.
  14. Was just looking at a Banshee they say is a 420. They say the piston is a 69mm and it has long rods. What's the deal with that set-up? Can you just do a sleeve and bore it that big? Will there be cooling issues? Your thoughts on a 420 stock cylinder? I've got a 370 long rod and I thought that was as far as you could bore. (I'm guessing unless it's sleeved.)
  15. I was joking about the X-pipe. I was trying to make the point that there is always more than one way to get somewhere. Dual carb guys insist that they make more HP. Single carb guys insist they have more throttle responce and better ridability. EFI guys have them both beat, but everybody hates on them because it costs so much they don't think it's worth it.... I had 2 Mikuni flat slide 28's on my wifes 370 long rod dune ported motor. They are on the workbench now. What's on the motor now is a Graydon 2 into1 with a single 36mm airstriker. I'm not going to say I'm faster with the 2 into 1, But I will say I'm not noticeably slower. I'll also say that with the twin 28's my wife's hand would get too tired. I'll also say that from your perspective, with your bike tuned perfectly, you see a 4HP difference.....But I know MOST banshees aren't that well tuned, and a well tuned single carb can beat poorly tuned dual carbs easy. I also think it's easier to keep one carb tuned. Two carbs that are a little out of ideal tune is twice as bad a one carb a little out of ideal tune. This I've seen many times on the dyno. Having said all that.....I would never say that I like the Trinity design.
  16. I know someone running stock carbs, Pro circuit pipes, with Vito's super stock pistons and it screams for him out on the dunes. Heck I know someone who screams if I can't hang up a towel. SERIOUSLY, I'm going to build a 2 into 1 into 2 crossram intake just to stir this debate farther. A twin carb X-pipe intake. It should work like an H-pipe in a car exhaust as well as a massive boost bottle. Honestly.......if 2 carbs are the only way to go with a 350cc motor, and you'll get guys telling you to run everything from a stock carbs to 28's-30's-33's-35's....then how in the hell did an LT-500 get fed from one carb? Heck a 250R was asking more cc's per cylinder than a Banshee and one carb fed it. Lets say you did loose some topend....3-4 horse.....maybe the cost of an extra carb and filter and tuning jets for a second carb isn't worth the 3-4 HP. Maybe having your carb in an easy spot to work on is a plus. Maybe with the carb centered, it gets less crap in the filter. Maybe the 1-2 HP you gain on the bottm end is better used than the 3-4 on the top. Maybe working 2 carbs wears out little hands like my wife's and the single carbs is the better option. Maybe with what he would save from not buying 2-28's he could buy some Vito's super stock pistons and slap them in and make more power than he would with the two carbs. Maybe one carb sounds good because your lazy and just want to ride. Maybe even with all your testing....even your friends don't give a crap and choose to stick with their 2 into 1's. I figure if it was THAT big of a difference, they would drop those 2 into 1's like they were hot! I guess you just ride with them and stay up at the front everytime so they don't hold you up. But you sandbag it so they don't figure out just how much faster you are with 2 carbs. Seriously, this question get's answered the same every time.....Is that My tail I'm chasing, or is that yours?
  17. Yeah this wait is geeting a little old. If we don't see some dyno posts from some new owners of pipes soon, the hype is going to just fall flat. This post is like lusting at a picture of a smoking hot super model......ALRIGHT, we know they look hot......... ......But are they any good in bed?
  18. You gotta post some full pics of that bike! That is a BAD ASS cut on those plastics! The pic in your signature doen't really show off the cut. Got any other views?
  19. Wouldn't "Nate McCoy" be the real McCoy? Yes, I learned alot reading his site. (Years ago when it was free) You take the time to read his stuff and you know he's dropping knowledge.
  20. Your jetting is WAY OFF.....your getting DETONATION. You might need high octane fuel or even race fuel depending on the domes you have. Get a compression check done so we know what kind of fuel you need, then go 3 jet sizes bigger, then back your way down after your learn how to read plugs.
  21. Use the search.....we just covered this. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138772&st=0
  22. I'm not talking about chrome...i'm saying his bike was just beat looking. Mostly stock, hillrod looking. I think the biggest motor in his stable was a 330proX. I think his regular ride was a 295 and it looked like a $1,200 bike. I've been on all the big sites and I've not heard him mentioned till now....that's why I'm asking....Who is he?
  23. Or a Fat Head. Anything but a ModQuad.
  24. You SO hit that one on the head! I don't understand the love for the side x side. For what they spend on those...you could buy a VERY nice jeep and take it everywhere...even on the street! If the trails are too tight for a jeep....then they are QUAD trails! If you want a machine to take your lady on the trails....it's called an ATV....find a lady that can ride one! THE ORDER GOES LIKE THIS - GOLF CART/SIDE X SIDE (Same thing) MOTORCYCLE/ ATV JEEP/TRUCK SPECIALTY - ROCK CRAWLER/ SAND RAIL/ TROPHY TRUCK/ MUD MACHINE/ ETC. I'll rock the ATV's till I'm @ 50. Then I'm moving straight to the Buckshot X-5 V-8 Sand Rail.
  25. Had an over bread cocker spaniel that was an awesome drifter......but when startled, would loose fluid during her run. She was running WOB......(Wide open bladder.)
