Actually Its pretty simple. The lugs hang down just a little bit further in the dome (still with enough clearance).

Ok guys, heres the scoop on what I found........ You may or may not belive me but for $4 its worth your effort. We found a new spark plug that advances the timing 2 degrees, We first tested it on snowmobiles and made 3 horsepower on the dyno over BR9 ES's with an 800cc snowmobile motor. They are made by Champion and they are called RN57YC . Just recently I put them in the banshee and noticed that it does help with throttle response which means that they do make power. Just a heads up. Also if you decide to try them they would be at an auto parts store and I have found them as cheap as $1.87 a piece.

My plugs become a little pink sometimes...... BUT let me ask you a ? what oil do you use for your premix and what do you mix it at? My plugs turn a little pink when I mix the fuel to rich, I use amsoil dominator (which is redish pink when mixed) normally I run my shee at 50:1 and the plugs turn pink when mixed at 30:1.

Just wondering what everyone is running as far as gearing goes? I have a stock motor other that my reed spacers, boost bottle, T5's. A week ago I found out as I was greasing the bike that my front drive sprocket was missing teeth and I put a 15 tooth gear in it and have the stock 41 tooth in back and love it, it spins less and has more topend. Just wondering what you guys are running out there?

I found out today that you are not limited to just what the dealer sells at your local yami dealer shop...... I could not find a set there under $20 and im kinda cheep so we went to walmart today and I bought some awsome enduro bicycle grips for only $6. All handlebar grips are the same size so find the ones you like before you buy, plus use some alcohol or hairspray for a little easier instalation. Hope this helps a bit.

I recently washed my shee and then decided to take a quick stroll to the neibors...... I have well water so it is extremely cold so I let the shee warm up a bit. I put my hand on the head to check temp and got the shit shocked out of me! There was a little water on the head still but my sled has never done that to me before when I put snow on the head. Do I need new plug boots??????

Well I finally got the Engine Ice in my shee and it works great. It probabally cooled the bike down 15 degrees. I would strongly recomend it and It only takes one bottle. It does cost about $20 but is just a better piece of mind for me.

I would check the packing, mine was excessivly loud to when I got mine but now it is quite tame with the new packing. I also have the powercores with T5's

Ok, sometime or another I WILL get around to porting my engine but at the same time I want to change the domes. I am at near sea level and want right around 140lbs of compression so I can still run 92 octane. So what cc size domes am I gonna need? I have a cool head on it and it only has 120lbs per side.

Ok, Guys Thanks.

Ok, while I have a coulple good minds here Im gonna ask another question or two. I have the stock radiator, a small radiator about 3/8 the size of the stock one mounted in the front nose, and a in-line cooler with 10 fins. Do you think thats a bit overkill for someone who rides the track and the trail? And what coolant modifier would you use? Ive hear water wetter works good, along with the liquid ice, what do you use??
-
Sweet, Alright thanks. Ill just leave it seeing as I just spent an hour dicking around with it. Just glad to hear that I dont need that dumbass bottle. Sorry for the profanity just venting my fustration knowing that some day or another I am gonna have to drill out that bolt.

Ok guys, I pulled my seat off today to check the boiling point of my anifreeze left over in the overflow tank... and noticed the plastic piece that was holding the tank was broken by one bolt and just about to break on the other side. SO.... I started to pull the plastic shield off and WALA the head of the bolt busted off.... UGH. I was looking around and figured why not just mend the two lines with an in-line connector and rid of the over flow bottle. I did leave enough hose to re-mount the tank if need be but what would you have done????? Also I found out a couple days ago that I have 2 radiators.... the stock one and one behind the grille behind the frame at the nose.... needless to say the overflow bottle didnt get much work. Any Imput would be appriciated! Thanks

WOW, That is your problem I wouldnt run anything below 110 octane in that sob! 180Lbs with 94 octane and over 9000 rpm...... your detonating I would pull the top end off just to make sure its ok! If you ran 87 before you are lucky if you didnt ruin your top end!

I guarantee the t5's are 10-15 decibles louder without packing. Mine was way to loud but now I cant even hear the exaust with my helmet on, its all motor.
-
BTW, do you guys do a tight pack or loose?????
-
I checked my packing and there was none inside the silencers so I repacked them. It helped greatly but it doesn't sound as cool as it used to, also the packing gave it a little more low end grunt (probabally because it has a straiter shot through the silencer.
-
Ok guys here's my predicament. I have Toomy T-5's and dont know what silencers I have but I do know they are way to loud for the trail even at a lower rpm. I will take a pic of my exaust asap so I can post it, but I was wondering If anyone had a set of quieter silencers they know of or may want to sell or trade.

I made sure she was rich first I went way overkill, I ran 30:1 premix with 92 non-oxy:Amsoil HP-injection. even rich she pulled like a mother F@&*er.
-
Ok guys, I just brought home my 98' banshee. Im not sure if its ported or not, its got T5's on it not sure about the silencers tho, It has a boost bottle, Cool Head and a K&N filter pod. It puts out 120psi on the Pto and 117psi on the mag side. I put about a gallon of fuel through it just around the yard and shee gets movin in a hurry. the powerband hits just above 7000rpm and shoots up to 9350 before I shift and it pulls its living guts out and doesn't quit pulling. It has just a tiny little digital rpm readout on the handlebars so I just catch a glimpse of rpm before I shift. Its not laying over yet at that rpm but is that what its supposed to be running???? Input would be appriciated. Thanks

So, When does this project you have start??????
-
Great work, the only thing I would do different is bend the tubing back a little for some shape. Great job tho.
-
wait a minute. Did you tie the wires together???? that would be your reason. together grounds the electricity out and kills the motor. Had the same problem with my sled, have a teather so y a kill switch??? and wired it together and 20 pulls later I pulled the wires apart and wala first pull like it should.

Boreing and building is something that takes some serious research or $. As far as the brakes go, I would check the resivor and fill it up, and if that isn't enough go through and bleed your brake lines. Remember to do the farthest bleed first.

Yamaha Banshee lockout clutch and clear cover

Ok, I will be doing mostly trail and mx track riding so I should just look into some really gripy pressure plates and stiff springs then correct? I'm not trying to be a pest but I just like to pick at everyone's brain for info before I make a decision.
