I have one and I love it, I will never go back to a thumb throttle. It fits my riding style but it is definitely not for everyone.

blew the rear axle bearings on vacation in the middle of nowhere and paid the stealership $600 to fix it so I could try to salvage some of the trip....won't ever do that again.

My wife stays out of the garage unless she's coming out to have a beer with the guys...not because I don't want her out there but because she has no desire to be out there....she likes to ride but everything else is my job.

I had one fall off 3 times in one ride, I switched to a wider band clamp and have not had a problem since.

22" 150 spoke rims with 305 Toyo Proxes, bullet centers, lead hammer, wrench. One rim had a real slow leak around one of the spokes and I took it in and had it patched, it never leaked again while I used them, rims and tires were used a total of 7 months, about 10,000 miles. you need to do an actual compression test to see where your at, just kicking it over to feel compression is not enough to tell. with what little info you gave it sounds like it could be rebuild time.
