no offense intended, but i hate posts like these.. on what scale if fun measured..? id be pretty disappointed if i had to ride a 400cc 4 stroke around all day, no matter what terrain,its all personal preference, you can always replace the shocks/arms on the banshee for cheap too, thats always the first argument about riding a banshee on trails it seems..although all the 400cc 4 strokes ive rode had pretty shitty suspensions as well but honestly, a stock suspension 400cc , you really think adding the width of a couple thumbs on each side is gona make or break getting around? several companies offer different model 450's now for trail/track with different widths, none of them are too wide to ride in the woods unless the trail is exactly 44" wide or some silly thing., in which case youd probably kill yourself on any quad in closing, ill take a bone stock banshee with a boost bottle, bald stock dunlops and gold wheels before the 400cc 4 stroke, but thats just preference

while youre at it, i would trim the plastic "grill" section off the stator cover, in front of the sprocket/nut... follow the curve thats already there and just lop that crop off! in the future you can change sprockets without having to removing the peg..stator cover, etc

a 15tooth front would put it back closer to stock gearing, changing the front sprocket 1 tooth is comparable to changing the rear 3 teeth, whichever way you go when you go up teeth on rear, its the same as going down teeth on the front, and vise versa if you ran a stock (14) front with that 45 rear, you will be shifting a lot more, gears will be shorter, but torquier,faster revving you could say the one problem i see with such a large rear, will you be able to run a skidplate with a 45t rear? a stock 41t comes pretty close i would run the stock rear, and buy a 13t front, cut the plastic on the stator cover so you can access the front sprocket easiler, then you can change between the 14 or 13t front depending on what you are doing or where you are riding or what you prefer at the time, cut the plastic off then you can change the front sprocket in minutes without removing anything but the chain

AT steelers ARE works "low end" shock - with or without rezzies, they are still the cheapest shocks works sells, but they work great, especially compared to the stock ones. everytime people say "works shocks" i automatically assume they are talking about AT Steelers because no one ever seems to spend the money on works more expensive shocks like the pro series or the black widows. i guess at that point they figure theyd rather have the name elka on the side of them if they are spending that much money. i dont understand why works cheapest shocks,at steelers, are always compared to elkas, when they make several models of shocks. i would be interested to hear from someone who has ran both elkas and works pro series or black widows shocks, and not just comparing AT steelers to a set of elkas that cost twice as much anyway, i think youd be really happy with a set of AT steelers, they are a huge improvement over stock

how about the balljoints? if you have to buy 4 new balljoints, well you just paid for a brand new set total, but got a used set instead can you use your stock tie rod ends with their +2 tierods? a local shop of ours used to stock them and sell them for $400 a set in chrome, brand new, with the balljoints and tierods and yes any +2 a-arm is built for a stock length shock, unless noted otherwise
