  1. i dont know if it would work in your case but for most screws ive stripped (mostly float bowl screws on the stock carbs) i used some screw out bits from craftsman they have worked very well for me in the past. and its only like 10 or 15 bucks for the set.... just an idea.
  2. i would be very interested in a removable subframe or footpegs if you come up with some cool stuf... whatever you do just have fun with it man.

  6. the front of the z400 feels really soft to me compared to my yfz or my other buddies kfx450r. but none the less they are still better then stock shee shocks... i personally like the feel of the yfz shocks stock for stock over every bike i have rode. but then again im only 175 pounds
  7. dont go yoshi. they make good pipes but there is much better out there i personally run the looney tuned dual exhaust some say it sucks some love it but ill race any naysayer with similar mods!!! the next exhaust ill run will be a CS or an Nmotion.
  8. looks good man. it looks like the bike sits higher with those works shocks than they do with the 450 shocks but imo thats a good thing.

  10. is it a growling grinding noise because my flywheel came loose and made funny noises right after my rebuild. and i threw some loctite onn and impacted it on and so far so good... but i never had anything blow a hole in the water pump.
  11. i have been doing alot of research on a arms lately and those were both in my top two or three. both great arms. where at in WA are you?
  12. What problems have you had with ModQuad? They make good products. i have had a few billet thing not fit right and eventually get broken because of the poor fitment. then my cool head blew the oring and killed my motor the second ride out. and i had a modquad billet impeller that was junk and had what looked like spurs of metal off it. and i know of a couple guys having problems with there billet. they have cool shit i just feel they dont have as great of QC as others. p.s. i didnt see what firehead wrote maybe they have solved there problems i havent bought anything from them in awile. in any case nice gas cap man!!!

  15. thanks for the replies guys. i cleaned my filters and reoiled them when i got home right away. i did mix the oil a little more than normal. i started it and let it run for awile when i got home figuring that it would burn the water off and when i started it today it seems fine i just worrie about shit like this. thanks again for the help guys.
  16. thanks man. i will use an airbox in the woods from now on.
  17. i just drained the tranny oil and noticed you said crankcase oil. what do you mean crankcase oil?
  18. thanks man im poing to go change the oil right now hopefully that helps. the bike was on its side and upside down for a little so maybe thats how the crankcase oil got in the back of the carbs??? well thanks for the help and off to the garage i go!!!
  19. i agree build the 450 but you know what they say theres no replacement for displacement...
  20. and i forgot to add that there was kinda a milky oilly shit in the back of my carbs near the pods when i took them off at home.
  21. doesnt water screw up bearings pretty quick? i also had a bad spill were it was upside down still running for about 30 sec. if that would make a difference. thanks. on my last motor i blew an o ring so it kinda makes me nervous seeing anything im not used to.
  22. i dont think it was a lot of water but more than i should of my jetting is really been good but i did mix the gas a little more than normal 40:1 but i dont think it would matter much and also i do have outerwares so i think that helped.
  23. it only seems to be smoking more when i stab the throttle not when its idleing.
  24. so i encountered a bit of water on the trail this weekend and i think i sucked some up. now the bike seems to be smoking a little more than usual but it runs idles and starts fine should i be worried ? is there anything i can do after the fact i know on my t maxx we would drop some oil on the piston. am i worried for no reason? any help would be great.
