yeah i was thinking that but wasnt sure if it needed alittle 'play'

so i got the shee put together and it fired right up. but with the same sound and thiss time i could tell that it was coming from the stator side cover. so I pulled the cover off again and the flywheel moved back and forth on the crank I didnt know if it should or not  . so I remembered what firehead said and turned on my lights and nothing... please help!!!

ok so i got the clutch cover off and checked every thing and it seemed to be in good shape. the only thing that seemed odd was that the edge of the clutch basket closest to the motor looked like someone sanded it down with a very abrasive sandpaper. is that normal? once again there was no metal shavings in the oil at all. i couldnt pull the clutch apart because it started to get dark and i need to pick up some new halogen bulbs is it good to shift gears with no oil? if so i will do that in the light tomorrow. i talked to mike from cascade and he said not to worry to much about it because it sounds like the basket? the motor is running excellent im just worried about this noise thanks for all the help guys and ill try to take pics and move everything around tomorrow. fastrthnu Im using gearsaver too 80w maybe thats just how it is

im not sure if the head lights work currently off. as far as I can tell it is coming from the clutch side I thought it was the stator side but it is hard to tell. i took the stator cover off and didnt see anything out of the ordinary. I am pulling the clutch case off now and will see if I can tell whats wrong.no coolant or water mixed in the trans oil. no smoke coming from the exaust either (bad smoke) just in case it helps my mods are pd cool head with 18cc domes. trued and welded crank, wiseco pistons first bore, k&n pods 310 mains and i belive 30 pilots, pd timing plate set at +4. i think thats it.

are the clutch basket cushions something that wear out fast? because cascade replaced everything that was slightly worn including clutch.

yeah it is kind of a growling sound. ill have to work on it tomorrow shop light burned out!!!

ok so heres the problem I just had the shee rebuilt and I am breaking the engine in. I have about 1 tank of gas through it and everything has been running perfect. but today I started hearing a noise a kind of grinding sound coming from the lower end cant really tell which side but it is louder on the stator side. so i checked my oil and it has these little air bubbles in it. when i give it gas the sound stops. not running bad just a strang sound. please help I dont know what it is. I changed the oil and there were no metal shavings or anything in it.

my shee has t5s, vf3s, cool head with 18cc domes, welded crank, kn pods, and it smokes my yfz450 with lte exaust, hot cams, scary fast pump cover etc...(if i can get traction) and I have raced a few similarly modded ltrs and havent been beat by one. so im thinking if you get traction youll win just practice!!!!
