I bought a used axle and was missing a lock washer for one of the pinch bolts and a couple of the Allen heads on the pinch bolts were not in the best shape. Not stripped, but not something I wanted to have strip out next time I took it apart.
Called JJA and told Jeff what I was looking for and during the conversation ended up telling him to just give me a whole new set, so I would have some spares. I also told him to give me 8 bolts for the sprocket, and 4 for the brake hub. Im sure there are misc washers that go with the sprocket bolts. At no time during this conversation did Jeff tell me that the bolts were expensive and I may just want to buy what I NEED, rather than extras. After my conversation with Jeff he transfer me back to the lady that answered the phone and takes my CC information. I asked for a price and she wasnt sure, Jeff hasnt written up the tag yet. My mistake for not getting a price before I said ok. I told her to email me the receipt.
I get home from work and check my email. I figured that they may be more expensive through them than if I would go buy them at the store, but I didnt know where I would find that style lock washer so it was my only option. My bill was $115.00 for 20 bolts, and 16 washers I believe. I email them and ask whats up the the price. Jeff's response was basically they are Made in the USA and that is rare and they are high quality bolts and thats the reason for the price. Edit: I also got lugnuts from them
So, basically what im getting at......If you need to order any hardware from them, make sure you get a price before you hang up.
Edit: I also got lugnuts from them
