Fat 1 1/8'' bars or standard 7/8''?
RagunCajun replied to PaymentPlan's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Im using whatever old 7/8" bars i had before. That along with my stock steering stem is at the powder coater right now. From my research, i dont see a point of getting an aftermarket steering stem so i didnt. I do not plan on riding rough trails so Flex bars arent needed for me. I'm 5'7" so i will not be reloating my pegs nor raising my bars right now. It's been a couple years since i road my bike so i will put a lot of seat time before changing stuff like that. -
I got the wiring harness form Kompulsive Concepts in the summer i believe. I'm not sure. However, i learned i it was recommended to get an a/c to d/c converter for the LED's i am going to run in place of stock housings/lights. I ordered the converter box thanks to zillafreak via pm. I had another custom made wiring harness to plug into my excising hardness and the box. That arrives yesterday. Kompulsive Concepts is always a pleasure to deal with. Actually his comstumer service is above all else i've delt with on here. As for the tie rods, i need to look in the box my a-arms came in and see if tie rods came with them. If not, ill order some from JDS. Ill order some more sprockets too while im at it. I think i have brand new 15/41 right now sitting here. That will make the 3rd or 4th order from him. I keep forgetting i needs stuff. I bug him alot via pm to add/edit crap off my order. Poor guy. Stock tie rods will most likely work. However i would hate to chance it. Not worth breaking my neck. Thanks for the heads up on the thread sizes. im going to try to find a set with most of the sizes and order it. I know i dont need anything expensive, i just didnt know the sizes.

I should of updated my build more zilla. But thank you for the advice. However, I have brand new Elka stage 3's here. I just figured id get new and be done with it. I got them through young guns racing, a supporting vendor here. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/Mobile%20Uploads/20160210_064652_zpsdswjsv51.jpg Where can i get a metric tap set to chase my wholes in my frame and other powder coated parts? I'm not familiar with all the most popular sizes in the frame and other parts. A die nut set wouldnt be a bad idea incase the end of a bolt is damaged. I used to have access to an endless supply of taps but that is no more

Hows their exhaust hangers compared to the ones cascade sells? Cascades seem to damper vibrations due to more rubber.

Since my dad farmed sugar cane for the also 35+ years and has delt with you people like you.....you are on your own. Ask permission from the landlord or stay away. That's my advice on the mods.

I havent ordered yet. But the plan is OEM white. I'm probably gonna put out a want add on here and FBhq group for a white fullbore hood.

Oil field still sucks. Long story short, im finally ably to finish it. A few things back from the powder coater today. The rest i brought will be here after mardi gras. I know the colors choice isnt for most. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02052_zps8l7spgf1.jpg with flash on camera http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02053_zpslbgyxul2.jpg It looks different in any type of light. I had Cascade send samples of material of colors. I will be having them do a seat cover for me to go along with my theme.

I just bought a set from JDS. Great to deal wth. I think i got the twisters. I forgot what i got for the rear. JDS also sells bearings etc cheaper than some big vendors depending on the product. Cuervo-Racing makes a rear brembo bracket/caliper that will bolt on to a banshee. I'm not sure how well it works. That what im getting for mine as soon as possible. I know that company does sell junk. You can get a wiring harness from kompulsive concepts. He is actually sending out a mini harness for me to work with an ac/dc converter thing i need for my LEDs. I'll upgrade my build thread this week so you can see what components i've done. I didnt cheap out on anything. edit* tree'ed by loco

a single carb is easier to tune. but only because you do to one carb instead of two. But two are best. otherwise, most of us would do a single. and screw a dirtbike. someone stole mine

That's not enough for most to beat some big 3 4 strokes.
-
If I decide to ditch my nerf bars, I'll order a set from him.
-
I was going to say some foot pegs but ima have someone local fab mine up so i wouldnt be a customer. Then again, i think it would sell well. More people run footpegs and lockout covers etc.

3-500. Just call and get a quote. Some charge more. Some one even tune you if the vehicle isnt to their standards mechanically.

gotta love the corn. i wish we had it at the pumps here. Id be upgrading my fuel system tomorrow.

As post 17 said on page two, that will do fine. At worse, make sure it's calibrated(reads correctly) by a reputable company. Good luck with your choice. I believe we covered this enough.

II'm just trying to not have him spend money on something he doesnt need. Starrett calipers are all i think he needs. Unless he has to have digital then i recommend Mitutoyo.

those Ti bolts are rare and not popular. That actually isnt expensive.

You dont need to check port timing. Have cameron port it and you are done. After training many people doing machine work and QC, i disagree. Reading and understanding are two different things. Most cant do either at first. I think some of us are getting off topic. OP would be fine with a sub $100 set of analog calipers at more. He is not trying to hold a tight tolerance. Especially something like .0001 where temperature change and really affect the part. id recommend something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Starrett-0-6-Dial-Caliper-3202-6-/172067158437?hash=item28100079a5:g:sWIAAOSwL7VWn7bJ or a 0-8" or 0-12" depending on your needs.

Either kind works fine. It's what YOU prefer not what juan claud van damn prefers. It depends what you want to do with them. Projects is a very general term. If dropped, it should be recalibrated. For the average joe, that isnt needed. I picked up a the cheap $20 digital onces at Oriellys and they fine for what most. But for machine work, hell no. I rather digital for when i was in quality control in machine shops/doing machine work. I rather analog for at home simply because i very seldom use calipers at home and do not want to mess with batteries. Mitutoyo, starrett and even the cheaper In-Size or whatever that brand is called will do fine. For QC work, calipers were allowed to be .002" off which is huge(read as a junk work piece) depends on the job, For stuff at home for example shimming my clutch slave on my truck, not a big deal. I compensated for error.
