  1. That's exactly how i feel. I will have my truck close by. There is no way i see myself running a big ugly tank.
  2. I ordered from them a few weeks ago. I think loco was the one who mentioned it to me. They came as advertised on their website, everything labeled in individual bags. It will be 2-3 more weekends before the assemble starts but im very pleased with the kit. It's a bargain at around $140 shipped. As for the fuel tank discussion, I personally never ride further than what people have estimated. Not even close. I will be using my stock tank then evaluate the situation after a lot of seat time. I feel for my needs, the stock tank will do.
  3. the inline gauge redline sells is popular. Ive seen mixed reviews on the trailtech stuff. I personally dont need a tach so a simple inline gauge will be fine. As for the hoses, a previous search told me the silicone hoses are all pretty much the same. I bought a $50-60 china radiator off ebay for my 521 serval build. Searching the forum told me people have no problems.

  5. You use a handheld tuner like a SCT xcal 3 or 4. Youll probably want one anyways once done. The handheld plugs into the ob2 and that goes to your laptop. It's very very easy to do. You dont need some new fancy laptop. I'm using a very old one with windows 7. But if you have a good tuner local with a dyno, that will work.
  6. See what shops run the number without blowing the engine or hurting the trans. Tunes are a very sensitive subject. I think im on tuner number 5. I'm happy now. I do email tuner. I datalog until we are happy.
  7. Custom grind cam, proper converter and some full catless 3" exhaust would be icing on the cake. Like said, they make plug and play wiring harness for most stuff.
  8. Got my elkas in from young guns Racing yesterday. Paid 900-925. His customer support is what won me over. Support our vendors.
  9. For me it just helps me finish my bike sooner. I have no budget. So the less money I need to spend, the faster it will get done. My build is due 99% from people's advice on here and supporting vendors help. And OP, people's comments actually can wake you up. Sometimes people have a bad habit of keep asking until people tell them what they want to hear. I find in the last year or so, suspension has been a popular topic. The three shock deal from Elka has aided that imo.
  10. Why do you need pipes to pull from lets say 6.5-10.5 rather than 5.5-9.5? why the magic 10,500rpm ceiling?
  11. I just went with fireball LT arms and my elka's(only reason i went with elkas is being sprung not air) just showed up yesterday. I researched and i dont need and wont notice all those higher dollar suspension parts. Especially after coming from STOCK suspension. Some people over think this stuff. But hey, go for it. I personally spent left over money else where on the bike where needed. I also didnt know about fireballs out the box caster. Looks like ill be buying an angle meter.
  12. See if anyone has a set of SLP and snipers to send to sweet home so he can dyno them all with your engine. That should clear any doubts. I think if sniper would of did big bore in frames, ida tried a set for my serval. Then again, it's not like ill be able to use nearly all the power it makes as is.   13. there's no sleeper about it. It's just the crank. It's not like you are shoving a bigger than 10mil crank in stock jugs and cases. No one is really gonna care if you have a long or short rod. Just go with the most reliable bottom end.
  14. just wanting to try something different after people specifically told you to do longrod to me says i wanna be cheap and waste money on some second hand parts that probably wont last. Get a brand new hot rods long crank, get a good supporting vendor to port it, and ride it.
  15. Part zilla, bike bandit, rmatv, motorsports etc. Whoever sells OEM. Just price shop. Also some years have multiple colors. For example my white plastics ate obsolete for my 01. But for the same thing for one of the white 2006 models they are still being made.
  16. That's how i do it. otherwise the bearings are not going to stay in place. It worked out for me since you can save the trans fluid by tipping it over.

  19. to add to this, my turbo chassis +6 i ordered last week with carrier raw was around 455ish. Recommend by supporting vendor young guns racing. fireball racing +6 with carrier was in the 650 range when i ordered one in the summer time but had to cancel it. edit* why cheap out? get something proven and recommended and buy it once.
  20. for stock cover, go with a slingshot. and make you get a pancake bearing that cascade sells.

  22. I would not risk that basket again. The price it's gonna cost if it cracks and grenades at 9k+ isnt worth the risk to me.
  23. Just wire the key switch wires together and tuck that stuff near the tank out of sight. Use a kill switch to kill the engine. IMO keys just provide a false sense of security. Plus it looks cleaner. Also for an easier clutch pull, install a slingshot lockup clutch. Very expensive but you can have a stock feeling lever or less. That's why i did it years ago.
