  1. Mine is line-x coated. don't mind the look but makes for easy cleaning.
  2. Got some parts today $400 for all of it also got a pair of trail tech lights. This summer its getting +2 a-arms, works shock, frame PCed candy red, all back plastics, new pipes, front tires and rims all around.
  3. ohms if your testing the items when its not running. and v~ (alternating current) when trying to test live wires. i think after the cdi box some wires might be dc so then you would put it on V-
  4. in my case anyway. i ride trails with my shee and im sure if the main was a size or two off it wont blow up right away. anyways when i bought my banshee it had 240 mains that the guy ran for a couple years and it still runs mint. now it has 300s. anyway riding sleds they are at high constaint rpms for a long time, like holding it to the bar across the lake. which is alot worse then being on and off the throttle and having to shift with a banshee. and yes in my case i beleve my banshee will not blow up at quick as my sled with improper jetting.
  5. Domes are inserts for aftermarket heads like cool heads. lower the number higher the compression. 22cc domes are stock compression i beleve. so if you bought 19cc domes your compression would be higher.
  6. I would run egt gagues on a piped sled but in my banshee its probly cheeper to do more plug chops then spend $200+ on egt gauges, also banshees are not prone to blowing up as fast as a sled that isnt jetted right.
  7. thanks for the info, this thing is def. old school lol. and yes its a pain to change plugs. might get a set of dmc 916s for it soon to freashen it up a little.
  8. It runs great and pulls really hard. im still tuning it but pulls harder then a stock shee with t5s. spun my tires till 4th gear taking off on pavment. also i notest the reeds were alot different then my blasters, it has a smaller reed on top of the main reed that opens easyer. guessing its for better low end.
  9. anyone think this a good port job? it doesnt look stock.
  10. is there a reason they have 89-present on the web site? i might want a set for my 87 eventually.
  11. could be old gas, my sleds smoke like a volcano the first stat up with old gas.
  12. ok took it apart and took pictures of the ports.
  13. i've never bought a kit, i just buy individual jets from my dealer.
  14. yes, you have to rejet. im guessing around 300 mains but i would start around there and do some plug chops. also read some the the sticky threads on the top of this section.
  15. Yeah pipes do make a big difference. next year you will want to get a port job. im thinking cheetah cub now
  16. yeah the guy i bought it from said when he rebuild it it had a port job but i guess ill have to take my reed cages out and take the exhaust off and look for myself. also it has more balls then my friends banshee w/ t5s so im guessing it must have a port job of some sort.
  17. also my cylinder has fmf engraved into it. anyone ever hear of fmf building engines?
  18. My banshee came with the old fmf pipes. what kind are they?
  19. dont buy pure sports bandits. they suck i spin everywhere, even spin untill 4th gear on pavement. plus they are really heavy.
  20. anyone? I was probly thinking around 2k? any imput would be helpfull. The guy said the only thing thats an 87 on it is the frame ,but i think that includes the suspention. I also looked around and it seems that j arms are pretty good plus i like the the look of them.
  21. I was looking into getting this banshee and i was wondering what you guys think it's worth. It has fmf pipes (which look pretty old in the pictures), mid 90s engine with porting and crank was ballenced and welded, fairly new rebuild. frame look powder coated or somthing. and other things you can probly see in pictures. he aslo said it hass all new bearings and bushings. looks in fairly good condition.
  22. i would go down on the main jet, but anyway whats the point of a k&n with an outerwear when you can just get a foam filter.
