Is it both cylinders or just one? I had one that misfired on the right cylinder only even when i switched the plug wires around. The culprit was a crack on the inside of the flywheel near the hub part not on the magnet. I would yank that off really quick before you mess with your carbs. If you switch the plug wires around and it backfires in the opposite cylinder you MIGHT have a problem with your coil or one of the blocks on your flywheel. Your pulse coil could be out of adjustment too. Just some info to get you pointed in the right direction. Give us some more info on your setup. Any recent mods you did and whether you have a timing plate or not.

I dont buy oem parts from the stealership. There is an AC Delco parts store here in my town and they are always half the price the dealership is and if the dont have it they can get it the next day. I just replaced a pump in my dad's 02 3/4 ton chevy and it was only like 250 bucks for the whole unit. And he got 210k mile out of the first one.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up buying a summit brand exhaust. It was only 312 shipped to my door. It took about 2 hours to install. Half an hour to take the old one off and an hour and a half to clean the rust off the down pipe flange so the clamp would tighten correctly. It sounds a lot better and it seems the the turbo kicks in a lot faster. Very happy with it so far have to wait for the programmer.

Just wondering if anyone has put exhaust on there duramax. Got my taxes back and thinking about getting the flowmaster system. I want to buy a programmer too, what are you guys running?

i run klotz in the shee and amsoil in my zilla and they both smell good but the zilla smokes a lot more for some reason. when i ran the amsoil in my snowmobile it ran clean and my exhaust valves were always clean at the end of the riding season.

I just wanted to chime in and say that if only the seal is bad and you didnt do any more damage(i.e. sucked air and smoked a cylinder) it should only cost about 45 dollars for seals 6 or 7 for the yamabond and a few buck for oil and antifreeze. And you can change them youself. It sounds like you are mechanically inclined so buy a book read it over before you start working on it just to get familiar with how everything goes together and you will be fine. If you run into a problem we will be more than willing to help you out. Just my .02 oh by the way I only let a select few drive my stuff. Even my pedal bike for that matter. I always usually get it back with something wrong and no one ever tells the truth about what happened anyway.

i would check your jetting to make sure it's not running lean. Are your plugs dark brown? What oil are you running? I know some oils smoke more than others. What ratio are you running?

I have a set of rear plastics from a 99 'shee. They have quite a bit of stress marks in them but are not cracked at all. Make me and offer. I also have a set of stock heel guards. They have a bit of surface rust but nothing that cant be cleaned up with some sand paper. Make an offer. If you would like pics it will be a couple days until i can get my hands on a digital camera.
