  1. I hate my job !! I hate Mondays cuz I have to go back to that shitty place after only two days off. Whoever decided that people should work more days than they play ? Seems backwards to me. ::
  2. North Edmond, but I get up to Stillwater often. Inlaws live there. We gotta get sum brewz.
  3. Ok, I get it. Other people have called it a power valve so I was confused. I was actually considering getting a couple. I heard that they can be handy on gas setup as well so...?
  4. Don't know what you mean ?
  5. I have not changed any jets yet. After all those probs from b4, I pulled the carbs off to compare the jets to the ones in the gas carbs (interested mainly in the primaries b-cuz of the specific problem). When I did, I found out that my dumbass installed the slides/needles into the wrong sides when I changed them over the first time (slides were hanging on the cables while I did other work). The carbs were getting little to no air at 0-1/4 throttle. :shoothead: I put them back together (the right way) and wouldn't you know ? It ran much better ! :thumb: I did chop test and now dealing with the new issue. If I do need different sizes, I'll prolly change, not drill. BTW, hard to admit that dumbass shit...lol
  6. Yeah, I know I should use bigger carbs to get the most benefit from the alky, but I'm broke and bored and just trying to maximize what I've got. Not to mention, now I feel like making it work cuz that guy said I can't. I did get it running pretty good yesterday. Left plug looked ok on chop, but the right one looked a little lean. I think it was starving the right bowl a little, so I stopped riding for now. I drilled the fuel feed port (on both carbs) larger, and drilled the float valve seat out +.030 larger to promote faster feed to the bowls. I ordered a Pingel fuel valve, for higher flow and to isolate the carbs so one wont starve the other. Hopefully those changes will help it work. We'll see...................
  7. Did you ever get that ride ? Guess not, or you would have already been singing its praises...haha
  8. Did you change the type of air cleaner or something ? Sounds like its running really rich, should be showing tan on your insulators. There might also be a problem with that boost bottle. Most guys dont even use them, they can be more harm than good. Also, probably not related to this problem, but if your not extremely set on the Yamalube, try Klotz Supertechniplate oil. Everyone that I know uses it, and is happy with it.
  9. I just got back from a local ATV shop (45 mi. from home). The guy there said that it wasn't possible to make a stock banshee carb run alcohol through it properly. I couldn't believe that he actually believes that shit. I know of people who have done it. When I get this thing running right, I'm gonna find him at the dunes and give him a 300 foot sand shower. Maybe that'll prove that it can be done.
  10. I agree. Shake it up some (remix). My friends and I also like Klotz Supertechniplate oil for premix.
  11. okbeast, No doubt in my mind, you ride a shee you'll never go back. My bro owns a 400ex and it is really nice, but I'll mix my gas any day !!!
  12. alky needles are thinner and longer(sharp points not blunt). Thanks, Do you have any idea on what kind of needles I should look for (from a kit, or specific manufacturer) ? There are not many ATV shops here that are very savy with mods.
  13. Hey Gimmeabeer ! I like your colors ! Love O-State ! You live close ?
  14. :baseball_wibble: anyone with any info on setting up carbs for alcohol? I got a pair of stock carbs that were set up for alcohol, but they did not have needles and slides with them. I used the same ones from my gas carbs. It idles and runs, but runs poorly when opening throttle and riding through the first couple of gears. When it hits pipe in third gear it pulls hard and will run ok (wot) through the rest of the gears. I moved needles down from 4th to 2nd groove, it only made a small improvement. I dont think lowering them to the first groove will make a huge difference, but I dont know cuz i dont have alot of experience with tuning anyway. also, can the plugs be read the same when running alcohol ?
