ok i was skimming through a few other posts and i got to thinking about the paddles i have. I have a 4 mil stroker with no porting, stock swinger, gnarly pipes, VF3 reeds, and k and n no lid. I am running extreme 20x11x9 9 paddle skat traks. stock gearing. Is that to much paddle?
-
not to steal your thread but wont a little throttle control turn the thing jsut as well wiht straights on as just simply turning the bars would wiht v paddles?

carbs clean? clean air filter?
-
DONT USE GAS TO CLEAN THAT FILTER!!! It will eat the filter away. Not right away but it will eventually fall apart. Use some dishwashing detergent. it will work well for what you need. i have used bar oil from a chainsaw before when i was in a pinch but that shit is nasty and pretty damn thick

motor started yesterday, not today?
The Faster Cracker replied to The Faster Cracker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
ok my compression reading was low because the line had a little crack in it so i have a new one on the way. i put the stroker in myself. a friend of mine is a tech at the local yamaha dealership and we worked on it together. the no spark on the left side is actually both sides. just tested the left side first. i have no spark on either side. i suspect the tors is the culprit. just seems funny that the bike sitting overnight would lose spark. what i was saying about the spark is that i grounded the plug and saw that it had spark on one kick and then the next kick it had no spark. any other ideas? -
ok so i got the stroker put in and minus acutally putting all the plastics back on, i got it into running shape. started her up and let her run for about 20 seconds and then killed it. i didnt drive it around cuase i still didnt have the sprockets on or anything but it ran great! that was yesterday about 4pm, i come in this morning and go to kick it over and i get nothing. i check the compression and i am at 100lbs (speaking of which how does that sound?). think it might be flooded so i drain the carbs and still nothing. replace the plugs and nothing. do a spark test on the right side first and i get a spark on the first kick but on the consecutive kicks no spark. try the left side and no spark at all. any ideas what it could be. im going to go disconnect the tors and see what that does but for it to spark and then jsut stop and actually watch it stop just boggles me.

My dream for the new Banshee
The Faster Cracker replied to feedmelies's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i work at a suzuki dealership so yeah i have dealt wiht bussas' quite a bit. the 07s are quicker thn the 08's which is why one of the mods is to put the intake and exhuast cams out of an 07 inot an 08 for extra "umph". However stock for stock the gixxer 1000 will still walk around the bussa. Maybe once you get to around 160 or so it will come back but how many people ever get there and if they do get to 180 on a stock bussa its not in the quarter mile which means they are out on the street like idiots. Sorry i am venting man its jsut been a shitty week at work. i do apologize. Now for your idea. You wouldnt even need to put a half bussa or R1 powerplant in. If you want a high horesepoer small displacement just build you an oversquare motor. the r6 or gixxer 600 have all the power you will ever need. I would say that maybe 10% of the people that own liter or bigger bikes might ever get close to realizing the full potential of what the bike is capable of. Hell the pros in AMA will tell you themselves that they never even use the "whole bike" in a race. Once again if i pissed you off or you felt like i was ragging on you i might have been but not to be an ass or anything. I guess i needed a scapegoat for the week i had and i appologize. have a good Easter weekend man. -
