  1. Thanks. I thought my price was fair, good to get reassurance. Id love to know of the events but this fall will be busy with a newborn.
  2. Agreed. A poor looking "visible" exhaust can really take away from the looks of quad. I'm going to get to it slowly but surely. Spent a lot of time on the quad this week tweaking some other little things. I plan on riding it Sunday if it doesn't sell locally.
  3. I repacked the silencers today. Here's a video of the bike with a kick start, idle, and rev. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbka34cmugE&feature=channel_video_title
  4. I synced the carbs and played with the dials on it. Cleaned up the exhaust some, changed spark plugs, changed trans oil, put new inners on the kick starter, took a link out of chain, and did some other little small stuff. Oh and put some new packing in the silencers. BIG difference. Sounds, drives, and shifts much better now. It wasn't bad before but felt a little off Here's a video of start up, idle, and rev. JUST REALIZED I SPELT "TOOMEY" WRONG. haha oops. My name is Tommy so I'm used to typing it out that way. LOL Banshee with t5 pipes after repacking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbka34cmugE&feature=channel_video_title
  5. You guys need to lighten up. I know this kid posts a lot of "reposted" questions but what's the big deal? It's like that on every forum on the internet. This is by far the worst forum I've seen of people bashing others for not using the search button. If you have enough free time to go around critiquing fellow Banshee enthusiasts then feel free to do so via pm's. Just a thought. It doesn't make you look cool by making fun of the new people.
  6. I looked this up today too just to see. It seems alot of people like the super tech ATF Type F from Walmart. I picked up 2 quarts today for $6 total. The transmission oil should take at least 1.25 quarts from what I've read. I plan on changing mine tomorrow and just starting with 1 quart and then checking the stick as I slowly add more. Make sure you warm up your machine before draining the old stuff out
  7. Nice! I didn't know that. I'll give it a shot
  8. Where are you located in Wisconsin? come check it out if you'd like. Be nice to meet someone local. I would rather sell to someone on these forums so I can see what it becomes I'm not in a rush to sell it, but my new baby will be here the beginning of September so I priced it to sell relatively quickly. I see lots of rough looking banshees in the Milwaukee, Kenosha/Racine craigslist for between $1700-$2200 so I'm hoping to get some bites.
  9. Ha if I keep it I have some wild plans for it. I like my stuff clean and detailed. It's for sale now but if it don't sell by the winter it's getting ripped down and redone. For my kind of riding it would be no problem to chop the fenders!
  10. Selling this banshee I just picked up. Went through it and fixed some little things that needed fixing (Clutch lever, kick starter, silencer packing, carb adjustment, chain tightened, greased fittings, etc). The quad just got a new Crank, top/lower end and overhaul from a dealer ($2600 in parts & Labor) I have a receipt from dealer to go with the sale. Here's some pictures and my craigslist posting. Quad runs strong. Email any ?'s to [email protected] $1850 - Firm price. No trades, No Low Ballers. Located in Milwaukee area. About 1 hour from Chicago and 1.5 hours from Madison. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/rvs/2547534936.html Thanks Tommy
  11. Picked this up of craigslist. 2001 Banshee with rebuilt bottom/top end. Spent the last week giving it a nice cleaning and tune along with some other misc. things (loose parts, bent shifter, rattling kick start, etc). Just need to repack the silencers and it's ready to go. If I keep this one I'll be redoing the pipes and tearing it down to paint the frame/arms this winter.
  12. I'm looking to trade my aftermarket "Jaws" style bumper in good condition for a good condition stock bumper. I'll do a straight up trade if you pay shipping. Let me know. Email pics or interest to [email protected] Thanks
  13. I had a completely stock 2001 banshee a few weeks ago. Put about 60-75 miles on it in 10 hours on a 80 degree day out. Rode it with little breaks in between. No problems what so ever. It was a stock machine with only 15 hours on it though. I would assume even the highly modded machines around here can surely last a few hours with no problems. Why would you think your machine would start breaking? Just bring extras out on the trail with you ------ Spark plugs, wrenches, carb/choke cleaner, screw driver, etc.
  14. Okay. Yesterday I pulled off the chain to remove a link, no problems. Just have to put it back on adjust the rear bolts. Pulled the kick starter off by the bolt because the screw part was stripped off. I have it soaking in PB blaster as we speak. Hoping to get rid of that stupid rattle, any suggestions? I then pulled the plugs to look at them. Here's how they looked.... Lastly, I took the rings out of the back of the exhaust. The left side had about 3/4 of the packing. It looks like some burnt up/off tho... The right side had nothing in it besides the baffled pipe which was just rattling in there because it wasn't lined up with the tip. I wonder if that was causing the smoke? Not sure why it would have no packing in it!? Ordered the silencer repack kit from Toomey so hopefully it's here by Friday so I can try to ride this weekend. Here's a picture of exactly what was pulled out of the silencers on my T5 exhaust...
  15. Oh man i got lots of updates for u guys. Loading pics now stay tuned
  16. Resistor plugs were made to not interfere with radio frequencies. Thats what i was told
  17. Thanks Tim. I also tightened tons of loose bolts and screws on this thing. Clutch lever was bent/loose. Clutch shifter was rattling because it was loose. The kick starter screw is stripped so I can't get it off to tighten, it rattles alot but I heard that's common. I'd still like it fixed. The chain on this thing appears to be tightened fully but it looks very loose. Do most guys run with some slack on the chains? This thing could probably come off if I lifted it sideways on the back sprocket, it's that loose! Doesn't seem normal to me....
  18. Thanks for the advice. I am planning on doing a lot of what you said. I tried getting the lower air box off yesterday but it seems there are some screws or bolts connected to the inner frame that are really hard to get to. I put grease in all the fittings. Took alot of pumps, obviously hadn't been done in a long time. Getting new BR8ES plugs for it tonight. Cleaned the twin air filter really good too. I definitely want to clean up the exhaust. It looks like a lot of that junk and rust will come off with a wire brush. I am also considering ripping everything apart to sand down and paint the frame. I can't stand how dirty this thing looks for being a 2001 model. I will pull the carbs tonight 1 at a time. How do I tell what size jets they have on them? I'm not too familiar with 2 strokes so I appreciate the advice.
  19. I was told it has 32:1 klotz oil. I have a fresh can at home with 40:1 yamahlube 2r & 93 octane mix. If it was the gas, wouldn't both sides be smoking equally?
  20. I just watched a bunch of youtube videos with banshees idling and revving with t5 pipes. It seems like everyone was smoking. Maybe mines not that bad? Does anyone have a link to a video of what the exhaust looks like with a for sure trans oil leak?
  21. I just ordered the silencer repack kit from Toomey. I'm going to repack the silencers and see if that makes a difference. I'm not sure why that right side tip is so loose and spins like that. I'm hoping the packing is just shot. I'll also be taking apart the carbs and cleaning them. I've read lots of people had the crank seal problem but I don't want to get into that unless it's last resort. I was sort of hoping my video would give me a more sure answer but it seems like there could be a lot going on here. The banshee runs good and pulls strong in the meantime
  22. It was drying. I had cleaned it out really good, haha. I adjusted the screws on top of the tors to be the same. It seems i'm in sync when hitting throttle just by eyeballing the carbs through the air box.
  23. I just purchased a 2001 banshee yesterday. I'm told it has a fresh top and bottom end with work done by a dealer. It's got a full t5 exhaust. It looks like there is a boost bottle on it too. The right exhaust is concerning me for 2 reasons. It smokes way more than the left side and the end of the pipe that sticks out rattles and spins around. Here's a video. Any advice or where to start is appreciated. I'm not sure what a banshee with Toomey 5 pipes is supposed to sound like. Does this seem normal or rough? Thanks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1IC2RwD51M
  24. LOL! Only $1500, what a deal. Someone jump on that. LMAO
