  1. 99 = http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemparts/a/yam/50038d6cf870021f60a0bb90/rear-fender Rockymountain shows the 98,95, and 94 rears. Links no worky.
  2. In my quest for trying to obtain OEM red fenders from a 2007, I stumbled upon the discovery that Yamaha is producing about half of the old 90s color fenders. I turned to the red (RTR) fenders from a 2007 because they are the same as the 99 model red (RTR). I've checked 95, 98, 99 model fenders on OEM parts finders over the years to see them say discontinued, not shipping, or blank. I noticed you could only get blue, white, black, and the 06 50th yellow. So, to get an old part number for comparison, I pull up the 99 red and see that the rear fenders have an updated part number and are available for ordering. The fronts are an old part number and say not shipping. Started checking other 90s models and you get all the old colors, but usually it's either the front or the rear, hardly both. What gives Yamaha? I'm excited they are producing again (unlike Honda), but we need whole sets of fenders. I put a call in to Yamaha corporate and talked to a parts specialist about looking into the supply chain. Maybe he can find out if they plan to produce the missing fenders to complete the sets. On a side note, I recently saw OEM radiator covers listed on parts finders for $370. I also noticed a trend in ebay sellers wanting $100 for them used. I'm happy to report I just ordered a black one for $70. Supply and demand maybe? I went ahead and ordered the 99 red rears because who knows when or if I'll ever be able to get them again. I've got a lead on an in-stock set of 07 red fronts in Puerto Rico, haha. See my other thread.
  3. I saw an old post about this but never a resolution. Has anyone in the States successfully got a set of 07 or 08 OEM fenders from a Canadian dealer? I want the 07 red ones, called Romantique Rouge. Funny thing is, Yamaha already put them on an old 99 banshee. All the US sites say that those color 99 fenders are discontinued and don't recognize the part number for the 07 ones.
  4. Matchstick, what year banshee? If after 96, it would have the e-brake switch that limits RPM in gear. These are known to fail. It is located on the clutch perch. Follow the wires down and unplug it at the harness.
  5. I thought about making an offer on that one just for the plastic. You know what that stuff goes for nowadays. That butcher in Michigan wants $800 for OEM fenders in the bag that you can still get from Yamaha for $500.
  6. I'm sure it looks better now than way back then. Haha
  7. You said you've never pulled the flywheel but the stator has been replaced. By previous owner? If so, pull the flywheel. If the stator is aftermarket, I'd swap it with a known good stock one.
  8. This cheap mofo should have sprung for the max number of bands instead of just two! Haha. http://lexington.craigslist.org/snw/5337735175.html
  9. I have some modquad rear fender supports. They work great. Nothing ruins a good banshee like some droopy ass fenders.
  10. As for the paddles, mine looked close enough. Probably won't matter for this sand noob with a stock bike. Thanks guys.
  11. Wayne, 6 miles away from Waynoka? If so, come by on your lunch break or after work and I'll let you take a shee for a spin. Hehe. We will be out there riding all day Monday and Tuesday.
  12. I'm new to sand riding. Heading out to Little Sahara OK on Sunday. I don't think I've ever seen this mentioned. Does anyone "sync" their paddles, meaning match the paddle location on the left and right tires? I guess you would do this by taking the hub off one side then turning and remounting it when you get the paddles lined up. Does it make a difference?
  13. Updates, if anyone is following along. Pulled the CDI off my running 02 banshee and soldered the 94 connectors to it. Still no spark. Pulled the harness off the 94 and looked at every factory splice and connection, no visible issues. I went ahead and cut the TORS connectors off while I was in there.
  14. I haven't swapped keys because they changed electrical plugs from 94 to 95.
  15. Please bear with me, this might get long. Wife's 94 banshee, all stock. All TORS stuff is unplugged. We could ride an hour or less and turn it off, then no start. Sometimes go dead while riding it. I've chased banshee electrical problems before. Checked stator, switches, etc. with a meter, no problems. Tried bypassing the switches, no go. Swapped coils with my 95 and no go. The 94 coil is still running on my 95. Pulled the stator and it had a crack in the coating. Got a new Electrosport stator and it ran a total of 5 minutes and died on the road. Bought a Caltech? aftermarket CDI, still no spark. Coil and regulator ground are good and clean. Epoxied the stock stator up and put it on. No spark. Put an old, spare OEM CDI I think I got from a member. Got spark. Got it running and the key switch would not kill it. Had to use the handlebar switch. Didn't need the key to run either. Rode an hour and now no spark. I am currently untaping the harness looking for issues. Any other ideas? Thanks.
  16. This just happened to my stock dipstick. Took it out fine to let the case vent while draining the oil. Then it wouldn't start straight to thread back in. Tried to clean up the starting threads with a dremel and still no go. Cut half of the threads off with a dremel and it went in with no problems. On a side note, I've had 2 Poulan chain saws with plastic gas caps that thread into a plastic tank housing go bad after several years. It's like the threads swell up and make opening or closing it impossible without using a wrench.
  17. Hubs received from 2strokelove. Smooth transaction, great seller.
  18. PM replied. Waiting for pics. Thanks
  19. Looking for a set of the big rear hubs. I think they came on 89 and 90 models. Lug pattern is 4 on 156mm. Thanks
  20. Check out this gem. Must have a rainbow assortment of power bands with one in every gear! http://fortsmith.craigslist.org/sno/4405797337.html I have a Banshee 350 6 speed. It has power bands in all 6 gears. I have 3 sets of spark plugs and oil that goes with it. 800.00 to 1000.00 has been put into the motor itself. It is almost race ready. It just needs to be lowered and extended. The only reason I am selling it is I'm getting into to much trouble lol. The cops have told me if they see it on the road they will impound it. Call or text Nine 1 Eight 7 Two 1 Two 7 One 5
  21. Poor banshee looks like it has never even tasted fuel. Haha
  22. 16" is too long for stock arms. Unless you want it to stand up high like a raptor.
  23. That's a nice looking bike. If the plastics haven't been changed, I think it's a 97 though. 98 was white and blue or gray color schemes.
  24. Yeah, I've never seen Full Flight use anything but heim joints. Seeing as how the stock brake lines still reach the calipers, I'm going to bet that they are just stock width.
