  1. you might try checking the silencer packing on your pipes. it could be clogged and need replacing. a difference in back pressure might cause the left side to miss. i have 3 stock banshees. 2 of them fire more out of the left side than the right. i gave up looking for the problem long ago after doing much the same stuff you described. i just adjusted the carbs for those sides differently. they don't foul plugs or seize cylinders. hope this helps.
  2. I had this problem with my 02 shee. its also stock with pro design foam filter and no snorkel. it would almost never smoke out of the right side pipe. when i would put it in gear and wind it up, it would pop on the right side. a plug test revealed it was lean. after checking air screws, reeds, coil, and putting different carbs on it, nothing worked. i ended up getting an extra left side slide and putting it in backwards in the right side. with the slot facing forward, it slows down the air, therefore it no longer runs lean. i've never heard of anyone doing this, but it worked for me. i saw another post where someone said a leaking cylinder head gasket might cause this, but i dunno.
  3. hey...i was just wondering if anyone knows where to get discount oem parts online. there used to be this place called epowersports.com out of florida. i would get on there and look up parts on the diagrams. the list price would come up and they would discount everything at least 30%. i bought a set of factory plastics cheaper than aftermarket ones from them. their site isn't up anymore, so please let me know if there is another place that operates like this. my local stealerships suck. thanks.
  4. hey...i have a 95 and an 02 stock banshees. they both have pro design air intakes. They also smoke more out of the left cylinder than the right. hence, the right silencer/pipe is cooler. my compression is good and the same from left to right on both bikes. i can see in the sync windows on both bikes and they are right on. i think you'll find alot of posts on here about this condition. as for your leak, i used to have an exhaust leak at the mid pipe and black oily residue would escape. if this is what you have, then i think that is normal too. my 95 has run like this for 3 years with no rebuild. i hope this helps.
  5. I am running Bel-Ray MC1 at 50:1
  6. I just acquired a 2002 banshee. As far as i know it is stock bore. It has stock pipes and a pro-flow filter with the lid on. When the bike is cold it starts on the first kick almost without choking it. After I warmed it up it continued to smoke at all throttle positions. Nothing real excessive though. After an hour of riding the plugs fouled. They were oily only on the electrode. The compression is 125psi on both cylinders. I was wondering if this sounds like a banshee running rich because of an oversized main/pilot jets or a richer jet needle position? Just wanting to know what you guys think before i take the carbs off. thanks.
