  1. Littering anywhere is shitty. I gave my co-worker a ride a couple days ago and he had the audacity to drop a paper cup out my window into a parking lot we were pulling out of. At first I thought he was kidding. I bitched at him for like five minutes after that. But sorry about what happened bro.
  2. I haven't had the opportunity to drag too much, so I am relatively bad at it. But hell, I'll look for your bike at Olds. I'll have a blue bike with a gas can strapped to the back (I like cruising the dunes - you know how we guzzle) and a black pirate flag.
  3. Seriously, if any of you guys are out there, a group cruise would be something to think about.
  4. I'll be there Nov. 17-19. I'll arrive late on the 16th (Thursday) and probably leave early afternoon on the 19th (Sunday). I usually camp around wash 13 with my family/friends.
  5. With that concern in mind, what combination would you suggest?
  6. Okay guys. I openly admit that I am not so savvy with electrical components. I bought my quad about 6 months ago with every mod done already, so I have figure out why certain things were done to it every once in awhile. Well, I have an aftermarket light kit from Lazer Star - http://weekendconcepts.com/yamaha-atv-kits.html I have their kit for the stock location and the kit for the handlebars, which gives me four lights total. I never saw the lights work except for when I bought it, and at that time they were fully functional. But I recently noticed that one of the bulbs in the stock location had broken inside. So I headed down to Weekend Concepts to pick up some spares. One problem though - I forgot check the wattage of the bulbs I have on my bike. The associate suggested to me that I probably had 50 watt bulbs. So I bought two 50 watt bulbs and left. When I got home, I found out that I have 20 watt bulbs in the stock location and 35 watt bulbs up by the handlebars. So here is my question. With a 200 watt stator, what is the maximum amount of wattage can run I properly with my headlights? When I bought my bike, the seller told me I could do something along the lines of adjusting the stator to produce more power, or doing something to get more juice to the headlights. What exactly did he mean? So, can I run the 50 watt bulbs up top and maybe move my 35 watt bulbs to the bottom? More light is better, since I'll be hitting up Glamis quite a bit soon enough. Thanks for the help.
  7. I'll be out there November 17-19 with some friends and family. Feel free to hit me up.
  8. I bought a Savage when they first came out and loved it. It had a couple weak points in its design which had to be fixed with aftermarket parts, especially when the motor was upgraded, but those issues have long since been fixed. The car has been out on the market for awhile now, so it is very fine tuned. I say go big and get the Savage. It is a great car. You probably won't even want upgrades now that HPI has strengthened the components and added a larger engine. I even took mine out to Glamis once with paddles on all four tires. It was pretty sweet, although I was running it pretty hard. The area is just so open it was hard not to run it strong.
  9. Not in all cases. I work with UPS and we use a system that checks with the Post Office. There are some addresses that aren't in the Post Office's system because people may not receive mail at those addresses. Most common instances are in small rural areas where people pick their mail up at the post office near them.
  10. Between work and school I could never camp out for ten days. I truly am jealous of you.
  11. Actually, not only is Chuck a decorated wrestler from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, but the last time I heard, he had his purple belt in Jiu Jitsu (which is right below black). He just uses his kickboxing out of preference.
  12. A couple years back he had reportedly signed with K-1 (a kickboxing organization) and had started training Muay Thai. He was even doing press conferences with them. So, he has supposedly been training kickboxing since then, and if he had a head on his shoulders, he should have started training grappling as well. If in fact this event with Pride is not just a publicity stunt (as was the stint with K-1), then I think he might surprise a couple people with his technique(s). Although, I do not expect him to succeed too well. Either way, since Pride is bringing their promotion to the US, the idea of Mike Tyson fighting MMA will gather a lot of attention and publicity. It's a pretty good marketing move.
  13. Nice. It is always great to see another Chevelle lover. I almost got a '66, but then decided to go for '67. I just like the subtle differences more. I have a fairly stock 396 with a T-400. Be careful, just like your Banshee, these things will devour your money supply. Perhaps even more vigorously. It has with me anyway. Here is my first time at the strip ever. Enjoy. My best so far is 8.7 @ 81 mph on the 1/8, which is roughly equivalent to 13.5 in the 1/4. That's not too bad for a 40 year old engine with pretty minor modifications. It is certainly faster than a lot of other cars out there, like new Mustang Gt's and even that Dodge SRT-10 truck. Anyway, going to the strip compelled me to start saving for an engine rebuild. Next summer means 500+ cubic inches and around 600 horsepower. Hit me up if you want to talk about anything!
  14. I second the pics notion. We need to see this.
  15. Sweet man. I always love to see people working on classics... especially on my favorite one!
  16. Something similar happened to me when I first started riding 2 strokes. When I first got my quad, I took it out and after about ten minutes it started bogging hard when I even dabbed the throttle. I think I sort of fouled the plugs because I was riding in too low of RPM
  17. You have to factor in the wear on the engine. An engine that was rated at 300 hp by the factory in the 70's is bound to have hundreds of thousands of miles on it by this day and time. You have to think about the age of this guy's car. It is 30 years old. To the threadstarter: If you want a good muscle car, don't get anything newer than '72. That's when everything started going downhill, like the introduction of more safety features and smog components, all of which hindered performance. I have a '67 Chevelle with a 396. It takes a ton of money out of my account, but every time I start it and hear the beautiful sound of American muscle, I know I have been doing the right thing.
  18. Hey, where are you going near you with a 1/4 track?
  19. This makes no sense to me. What all did the mechanic say was wrong with your quad? If the engine is blown, you rebuild it. If the electrical is shot, you replace it. If the frame is bent, you replace it. The same goes with everything else. Fix it or repair it. What this guy may be saying to you is that the amount of money that he would charge you is not worth it. But even if say, you needed 75% of what is on your quad replaced, think about the understanding you would have of your machine when all is said and done.
  20. Just out of curiosity, how often should one clean the carbs? Say, if one rides at least twice a month.
