  1. Whats the compression on a stock blaster? Thanks.
  2. Are the plugs new? Carbs stock? TORS disconnected? Parking brake disconnected? Need some info.
  3. Try some washers where the pipes bolt to the frame to move it out a bit.
  4. How much per sticker?
  5. I remember a few years ago we were camping out. Woke up the next morining after a few hours of sleep and still pretty drunk. Maybe 1000/am. There was this fat ass dude tooling around on a quadzilla. Saw my banshee, rode up and started flapping about how he just got it bored and set to run. Then started drag racing himself. I felt like shit but hated him on site. I just had my 99 at the time thats stock with bolt ons, pipes, v-force, cool head, basic shit. I've never raced a quadzilla let alone seen one where I had been riding. I didnt wanna get beat in front of my sons but he was such a douche I had to try him. Beat him every time in a straight drag. Got worse every time. After the last time he just turned around and left. Now I know they're fast but I think he didnt know how to ride or tune it cuz I was pulljng him every race. Seems like it may have been running hot. Whatever, he was a punk and left like a bitch.
  6. Good pipes for a fair price.
  7. My CPI's look outstanding as well. No blueing, nothing. 8 years of riding. I do minimal maintenance to em and they look great, meaning when I wash my bike after riding I may hit them with some chrome polish, maybe. 5 minutes. I dont know why you would get black that look good for maybe a season and look like dick when you can get set of good chrome pipes that look good for good. Poor mans CPI's r still CPI's but without the bling.
  8. Agreed. Save up the additonal bill and buy the chrome.
  9. Outstanding reply Ray. Bud, keep your head clear and stay safe. You'll be up and running in no time. When your back in state keep clear of that skank and bang every one of her friends.
  10. I just did mine last month. I just put it on its side, took off the shifter, side cover and foot peg and used a small screwdriver to wedge it out. Pretty easy.
  11. the drain plugs are a bolt on the side of both cylinders. Remove those and the bottom hose.
  12. Unplug the parking brake.
  13. I have a fast clutch on my two ported bikes. 1 for 3 seasons and the other 2. Absolutely 0 problems.
  14. Thanks. It wound up being the slides were open too much from the new cable. Synced em up all better now.
  15. Like I said, I put a new throttle cable on my sons 99. It still has the TORS, but they're disconnected, parking brake disconnected. I had the bike apart for a bit cleaning everything. Started and idled fine before the new cable. My question is this, does it matter which carb you route the throttle cable to? I.E. is there a specific right and left cable or does it matter? I've replace throttle cables before on my other bikes but they both have 33 Keihns. I replaced the cable from bars to the carbs and the smaller cables that run from the TORS to the carb slides. I'm thinking its probably an air leak somewhere but wasnt sure about the routing of the cable. Thanks.
  16. We have T-5's on our 99 stocker with just basic bolt ons. That bike runs real hard. You can lug it a bit and have good top end as well. T-5's are an awesome pipe. And they sound the best, IMHO. I have CPI's on the other 2 bikes listed in my sig. The black one in my profile (94) runs perfect. Top end out the arse and I can trail ride to with NO problem at all. The 02 we have is a real rev queen. Hard to trail ride. GRR race porting has alot to do with that though. Top end on that machine is through the roof. I noticed you have stock carbs. I would get bigger carbs before the CPI's.
  17. yamalube on the 99 since I brought her home July 4th of 99. Absolutely 0 problems. Motuls on the other 2 bikes in my sig only because the 94 I bought thats what the guy before me used and on the 02 because I bought a shit load of motuls.
  18. Its been a few seasons since I did that adjustment but if I remember correctly you start with the cable screwed all the way into the perch and adjust the inside from there. Your old cable probably stretched quite a bit knocking that adjustment outta whack.
  19. Have you tried adjusting the clutch at the clutch? Inside of the clutch cover? You need a phillips head and I think a 10mm or 12mm wrench. That may be the problem as well.
  20. Thats a very interesting article. Vitos recommends 35 pilots? What size mains, anybody know? I think I read this is with an open air box with I assume a K& N. It's about time I did my sons 99, maybe I'll go this route.
  21. Can I use pro design domes with this head?
  22. Used SST's with power core II silencers for sale. Good shape. Some rust but when mounted on bike they look good. 1 very small ding, about a 1/2 of an inch on one and a crack on one of the pipe hangers. The hanger is still very useable. See pics. 250 shipped.
